Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Demon Lord's Descent

Since the descent of the dukes, humanity's losing streak picked up in pace by a lot. Out of an initial total of forty five kingdoms, twenty were lost within five months.

At the end of the eleventh month, ten more were lost and this was after every kingdom started offering some sort of aid after recognising the major threat that was speedily consuming the continent.

The only seemingly safe part of the continent from the demon attack was the Great Beast Forest that took up most of the East area of the continent.

It might not have been attacked by demons but that did not mean humans could seek refuge there either. This is because it is ruled by a great beast rumoured to have the ability to wipe out the whole continent on its own, The Emperor Dragon Igneel. Then it's millions of underlings of varying strength who could probably do the same if they attacked together. The only parts humans had access to where the outer most areas which even then, whoever entered would be attacked until they run away of killed.

...

And so, unlike the calmness of the forest, the rest of the continent was engulfed in chaos. The humans continued to fight a losing battle. Although they at least managed to drag it on for three more years after adapting to the tactics of the demons.

At that point, only eight kingdoms remained and surprisingly they all stood strong. This was due to the sudden appearance of five beautiful girls of unknown origins who could shockingly fight on equal footing with the demon dukes. This was a great but welcomed suprise by the humans, they even started calling the youthful girls the five sages of humanity without feeling embarrassed. Which made sense considering that they were the reason humanity could still fight, so even licking the boots of such little girls totally made sense since they got protection in return.

Slothful Eve suddenly disappeared right when the five girls appeared and the six dukes were about to fight them, she was never seen again.

After a stalemate for a whole year the demons finally stopped their aggression and ominously went completely quiet.

The human spies in the demon territories only reported that the five remaining dukes all went back to the initial kingdom the demons had occupied. This had long become the demon capital at this point. The weird thing about the report is that it stated that the dukes had be surrounding the larger giant circle which had not been activated till that point. They seemed to be channeling their energy into it for three days nonstop.

Although the humans knew it was definitely something bad, there was nothing they could do about it so could only look on as it happened.

After two more days, which made it five days in total, the giant teleportation circle lit up in a calm red light unlike the chaotic light from the smaller circles when they were activated. Creepy but joyous smiles appeared on the faces of the five dukes as a demon unlike any other stepped out of the gate with his eyes closed.

He had shoulder length red hair, skin so white it seemed like he had no blood in this body, average body build, a face so good looking it seemed fake but surprisingly he had no horns let alone a tail and bat wings. If it was not of the reverent looks in all the demons that looked at him, with even a hint of fear in their eyes and his demon skin then one would likely mistake him for a human...albeit a human so good looking no straight man with a lover would want him around.

The young man...or rather young demon slowly opened his eyes which were surprisingly dark purple in color. A wave of aura was released from him and went in every direction. Every demon it passed, held their breath in awe of the great strength projected. On the other hand, very human on the continent felt a chill run down their spine and could vaguely sense that they were heading for a super tough time.

Oddly enough when the wave reached the Great Beast Forest it couldn't penetrate even the outskirts of the great forest and just died down there.

Somewhere in the human territory a lonely looking cabin in a secluded wilderness could be seen. As soon as the aura wave was within twenty meters of it, it seemed to be repelled and went around it. Such thing should have been impossible....

.....

Back at the demon capital....

"WE WELCOME YOU YOUR HIGHNESS, THE GREAT DEMON LORD!!!"
