Angela's Point Of View
I was startled as the screeching sound of the tires tore through the air, shattering my heart as I thought the worst had happened. I felt my heart jump into my throat as I heard Georgia's scream simultaneously.
The time seemed to slow down to a crawl at the moment like in the movies as I tried lunging forward to grab her in a way to yank her out of the car's way. I was too late but fortunately, the car skidded to a sharp halt mere inches away from her but the shock caused my friend to hit the ground.
I was so pissed and this is just a delay mechanism I can't afford. I was breathing heavily and didn't notice at first, I slowly knelt beside Gia who was on the floor with her skirt tangled around her legs which caused it to tear. She was also clutching her knee which had a big scrape and it had begun to bleed.
"How did this happen?" I wondered to myself as anger surged within me for the driver of the SUV that almost hit us.
I also felt the shock as the effect of the near miss rippled through me and caused adrenaline to course through my veins.
"Are you okay?" I decided to ask her before taking any action. My voice carried a tinge of urgency and panic which hadn't settled yet.
"Hmm... yeah... I... think I am!" She stammered briefly with a trembling voice as she nodded weakly, her face was pale and her eyes widened with fear. I couldn't let mine show.
I heard the car door swing open and shut before the footsteps of someone walking towards us could be heard.
"The two of you must be blind to have run into the road that way!" The idiot yelled in a frigid voice as he walked towards us.
I helped Georgia up before turning to that voice and I was met with a cold-looking man. There were two as my side eye caught the sight of another.
Oh geez! He was strikingly handsome, quite a tall figure with silver hair that shone in the sunlight and oh my goodness... his well-built physique showed and spoke of strength.
I looked him over again as I noticed his handsome face that was chiseled with sharp angles, and complemented with a straight nose and firm jawline. Oh my! His long wavy silver hair framed his face by the side.
And his eyes, I haven't seen such intriguing gray eyes that held a steely intensity that seemed to penetrate and pierce through everything, including my eyes.
Even through his impeccably tailored suit, I could figure out how built his physique is, he should have strength and power. I watched him as he stood before me, his presence commanded attention effortlessly, I must give him that.
He exuded a sense of aura; that of confidence and authority which could be seen in the way he carried and portrayed himself, which I believe is heightened by the beautiful coat that draped elegantly over his broad shoulders.
The way he looked and portrayed himself was a stark contrast to the cold expression etched across his face. His gaze felt like ice, it was cold and penetrating which left no doubt of the calculation behind those damned eyes.
But despite how attractive I found this strange man, I remained composed and focused as I raised a brow at him and smirked.
His brows furrowed at my action, "you should always watch where you are going!" He snapped with a sharp accusation laced in his voice.
I bristled at the tone he used on me. "The road was free and we were crossing at the light! It isn't our fault if you can't handle a stop! You are the one at fault, check your facts!" I spat out defensively.
"My gosh! I can't believe how ridiculous you are!" He sneered at me.
I glared at him as I turned to look at the second guy who came with this nasty brat! He had blonde hair and wore glasses, he looked rather calm, unlike his colleague or face. He had an air of authority around him too and as he knelt down beside Georgia to assess her injury, I couldn't help but notice how composed his demeanor was.
"Please, miss, let me take a look!" He said gently to Georgia, his voice was a stark contrast to this man's voice before me.
As he touched her knee to examine the scrape, Georgia winced, his hands were gentle yet firm.
"It isn't too bad! And just cleaning, an ointment and bandaid will do! But first thing first, let's get you off the road!" He said to her with a reassuring and soothing voice.
Agitated by this, I shot a glare at the silver-haired man before me, my irritation at a rise and simmering.
"You should learn some manners!" I muttered under my breath but loud enough for him to hear.
"And you should learn to watch where you are going!" He scoffed.
I was on the edge of losing it as I clenched my fists hard, fighting the urge to let go and argue further. But I thought of Georgia and her safety was my priority at the moment, not getting into a verbal spar match with this dickhead.
"We need to get her injury taken care of and cleaned up and a new skirt!" I said to him concisely before directing my attention to Georgia as I walked to her side.
"I am Doctor Ian and you don't have to worry about that! Let's get her to the car!" He introduced himself to us as he suggested calmly, gesturing towards the car.
"Ian, have you forgotten I have a very important meeting?"The silver-haired man asked his friend flatly as he looked at me with a frown.
"I don't have the time for this!" He uttered stubbornly before inserting his hands into his pocket.
This man was getting on my nerves, I turned to him as I shot him a devastating glare.
