Angela's POV
I couldn't shake off the unsettling feeling that had enveloped me since my encounter with Mr Silver haired, I sat in silence as Ian drove us to the hospital. I was frustrated and angry by his cold demeanor and sharp words that kept replaying in my head. How can such a fine man lack manners on how to talk to a lady or even show an iota of care after causing her just a traumatic experience?
My mind was reeling with the senselessness of that guy's behavior even though I might appear to be calm on the outside.
"Is everything okay at the moment?" I heard a voice that brought me out of my thoughts.
I looked up to see Ian and Georgia staring at me, concern was etched across their faces, I must have startled them. "It's okay, I just remembered something that felt weird!" I explained to them as Ian sat down properly, looking ahead but Georgia continued to look at me like she knew I was lying.
"You can just tell me what it is!" She whispered to me. "What is on your mind, Angel ?" She added softly with an understanding gaze.
"It's nothing," I replied vaguely after a deep breath, I didn't want to burden him with my thoughts.
"Come on!" She urged with a knowing look.
I hesitated for a while, I didn't want Ian to catch wind of what I was about to say.
"It's that guy from earlier, I think I have met him before!" I explained slowly as her eyes grew with curiosity.
"Where?" She asked.
"Dine and Dine! He was the loner I told you about!" I explained to her.
"Oh, so why are you so worried? Did you do anything bad to him? Besides, if you did, he doesn't seem to recognize you so you don't have anything to worry about!" She said to me which I reasoned and it was true.
"Ian, sorry to bother you but that guy from earlier, the silver-haired guy, is he your friend? Like a close friend?" I asked him with a furrowed brow. I was quite cautious to not let the tension in my voice show.
"Oh you mean Devin! Silver-haired guy! He will be pissed if you call him that!" He uttered with a chuckle.
"Yeah, he is my friend! Such a great guy," he said with admiration for his friend as he looked at us through the mirror.
"I doubt that!" I muttered as Ian turned to glance at me and then smiled.
"He is, he is just a little bit... complicated, I will say!" He explained which was kind of vague.
"Can complicated be used to describe such a guy? I would rather say he is more than complicated!" I shook my head in disagreement as my frustration bubbled to the surface.
"Yeah, far from it! He seemed rather... unpleasant to me," Georgia nodded also, agreeing with me.
"Honestly, he is more than that if you get to know him closely! He isn't as bad as you guys are making him out to be!" He muttered with a sad smile.
"But well, whatever opinion you have about him, I'm sorry you have to deal with this side of him, he is just having a difficult morning!" He said as I felt the sincerity in his voice.
"Thanks, Ian but don't you think that is a typical excuse for people's bad moods!" I said to him softly, offering him a small smile.
Ian frowned slightly but just looked ahead as the car got consumed by a tense silence with everyone lost in their thoughts. Immediately we arrived at the hospital, Ian was already by Georgia's side helping her out of the car.
"Such a caring dude!" I muttered to myself as I followed them behind. My mind immediately drifted to the gig I had applied for earlier today, I cussed under my breath as I was on probation on the app and any slight complaint from the client might cause my account to be banned which I can't afford right now.
Getting a job in this city is hard enough if you don't have a degree or the right degree. The degree I might have used was issued to me by my pack which is a no-no!
We were guided into the reception by Ian as a nurse behind the desk greeted us with a warm smile.
"Good morning, Doctor Ian! Good morning, ladies!"
"Good morning!" Georgia and I chorused.
"Is this the lady you paged me about?" She asked, pointing at Georgia with a soothing demeanor.
I stepped aside as Ian explained Georgia's minor injury and they both led her to the examination room. I slacked behind as I used the opportunity to message my client about a sudden emergency that came up but promised to be there tomorrow.
I walked into the examination room and sank into the nearest chair beside Georgia. I had no choice but to remain by her side as she needed me.
I never knew it was going to take us long as minutes turned to hours as I waited for Georgia's examination to be concluded. Unknown to me she sustained a broken elbow and didn't even say a word about it.
"I can't believe you Gia!" I uttered to her for the umpteenth time.
"I'm sorry, I just thought it was a painful bruise!" She explained.
Finally, Ian and the nurse were finished with her as she was spotted with a bandage on her knee and an elbow brace. We both looked tired but had a relieved smile on our faces.
"All good and back to normal!" She uttered wearily before sinking into the chair beside me.
"Thank goodness, I can see that!" I murmured gratefully, reaching out to squeeze her other hand.
"I am glad you feel better now!" Ian interjected sincerely, his eyes still flickering with concern.
Ian smiled warmly at us. "Glad to hear it," he said sincerely, his eyes flickering with concern.
Ian insisted on settling the bills as we made our way out of the hospital, he insisted again on driving us home which I will forever be grateful for. I don't have to worry about the unforeseen hospital bill and transport fee back home. This part of the city to our house was expensive!
"How about your gig at Vix ?" Georgia asked me as we settled into the car.
"Vix ?" Ian asked suddenly with a look of surprise.
