Georgia's Point of View
Though I hated to admit it, I felt freer with Ian when Angel had been dropped off at the Vix place. I felt a bit selfish but then I felt a bit relieved at the same time as I had all the freedom that I needed to have with Ian.
"You seem a bit more relaxed than you were a few minutes ago..." Ian caught me in broad daylight as he smiled while steering the car slowly. "How's your leg now?"
"It's much better than it was back then. For a couple of moments, I thought I had seen my life flashing past me." I was finally free to express what I had been through in the last couple of moments without the fear of being scorned by Angel who seemed to be always on the lookout for chances to do just that.
"I don't know why I find that funny..." Ian admitted as he chortled heartily. "But then, I'm sorry that I had to ruin your day with all this..."
"It's fine... it's not like you're the one driving..." I said, trying to cut him loose from the guilt that kept beating him over. "You have already overpaid in full."
I couldn't help but keep stealing glances at his beautifully sculpted face and his other features which made me feel like simply tilting his face over to mine and staring at him all day long. He simply looked too good to be true.
"I would have to forever have to live with the guilt of nearly taking the life of this pretty damsel..." he said with a smile that made me wonder if he had meant it when he said I was pretty. I was dying for it to be true but I wasn't going to show it just yet.
"Oh..." I was clueless about what to say to that. That very moment made me wish that Angel was somewhere around to tell me what to say next as she was better when it came to those sorts of things. "Too bad..." I cringed at my lackluster remark.
"So... I guess you and Angela have been friends for quite a while..." The way he called her name with such familiarity made me wonder if they had known each other before then.
"Yeah... she's kinda the only friend I have..." I said as I was still struggling to look him in the eyes. There were just too many things that made me feel like I was about to lose it all right there and then. "What about you? Are you so close with the silver-haired guy?"
"Oh... you mean Devin ?" He asked with a slight smile that made me wonder what exactly could have been going through his mind. "We've known each other for quite a while now, but then I can't exactly call him a close friend. More like a highly valued client and a friend as well..."
"Patient...? You're a doctor...?" I asked as I was beginning to see so many shades of amazing in him. Besides the breathtaking looks that he had, he seemed to be quite a genius as well.
That boosted the imaginary attraction meter I had in my head. He was like a ninety out of a hundred.
"Among many other things, yeah..." he said with a nod as he drove closer and closer to our home which was not too far away anymore.
"Many other things?" I asked as I was even more curious with each passing moment. "What could they be?"
"Well... let's just say that I'm also a businessman..." his smile made me feel like there was much more to the words he had just said to me. "So where do you work?"
"Uhm..." I stuttered a bit as I was trying to think of the best way to describe a job as demeaning as mine was, "Let's just say that I and Angela are freelancers."
"Freelancers?" He asked as he seemed to have been thinking deeply about that. "Like... you work online...?"
That sounded better than what I did, and I just wanted to agree to that as what I did for a living.
It sounded a bit more acceptable and relatable to someone in his class, but then, I wasn't so good at telling lies to anyone that wasn't Angela. And I didn't want to start lying so early in our...
I wasn't sure if I would call that a relationship as that would simply be too outrageous for someone I had just met that day.
"Yeah..." I finally agreed after the long internal battle I had fought with myself. I had succumbed to the pressure of trying to fit in and with the hope of telling him at the right time. "You seem to be interested in every single thing that has to do with me..."
I hadn't listened to those words in my head before saying it and I was almost regretting it. But then, it had already left my lips.
"Well... I am..." he admitted and that made me feel a bit more excited even though itbwa a generally absurd. "And I bet you are too..."
"Uhm... yeah..." I could feel butterflies in my belly and goosebumps popping up on my skin. "I guess I would like to get to know every single thing I can know about you."
"Very well then..." Ian said as he was soon pulling over in front of the block of flats where we lived. "I guess this is the place..."
For some reason, he didn't seem irritated or uncomfortable with the environment. Perhaps it was because he was with me.
"Quit getting ahead of yourself..." I said to myself in my head as it was time for me to leave and head back into the place where I would be lonely until Angela would be back.
"Are you forgetting something..." he said as he was soon looking around the car before he opened the door.
"Oh no..." I said after looking around the whole place and finding nothing.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I'm sure. Thank you so much for today..."
"Very well then..." he said as I shut the door while I was outside. "Have the loveliest day..."
He waved before he zoomed off and that was when it dawned on me that I had indeed forgotten something.
"Oh no..." I had been in my head for quite too long that I had forgotten to exchange contacts with him. "Crap..."
