Angela's Point of View
"Oh my…" I let out as I was soon realizing that I had been running for a couple of moments without stopping for the past couple of minutes. My heart had stopped and restarted a couple of times in the past couple of moments.
I stopped when I was sure that that I was a good distance away from them and that no one was following me. The fact that I wasn't being pursued made me stop and wonder what could have stopped them from chasing me. I had already prepared my mind to be chased for the rest of the night.
What the heck had just happened to me? I wondered as I was trying to catch my breath. Luckily, I hadn't taken out my phone from the work clothes I had changed into as I had been instructed.
I took out my phone and saw quite a lot of missed calls form Georgia . She seemed to have known that I had been in some sort of trouble. There was still some cash on me to pay my bus fare back home. I didn't care to know what my rating would be from the Vix place. The fact that I was alive was more important than any rating.
"Georgia …" I said as she answered my call promptly. I could imagine her fretting in desperation as she was wondering what could have happened to me. "What's up?" I tried to sound like I hadn't just been on the verge of losing my life a few moments ago.
My body was still reeling from the mate pull which I had just felt. Those quick heated seconds had brought back memories I had wanted to bury for good and pretend that they hadn't happened in my whole life.
I didn't know who exactly I was angry at. A part of me wanted to blame it on myself for not running away when I had seen the silver haired guy walk into the place. But then, how in the world was I supposed to know that I was mated to the guy in the first place?
Another part of me wanted to blame it on the stupid driver who had ran into the drainage marker. If that water hadn't gushed out on the both of us, then that awkward moment wouldn't have happened in the first place.
But then, it had all turned out that way and the outcome was that I was mated to the silver haired guy whom I had loathed so much.
"No way…!" I screamed inside my head. There was just so many mixed feelings running through my body at the moment as I was trying to keep it all together.
"Angela …?" Georgia called me back into the moment as I kept on zoning out at every single point of the call, "Are you okay?"
"Yeah… I am…" I said as I was trying to shake it all off. I wanted to admit that it was some sort of illusion that I had just fallen into and had quickly gotten out of. It never happened… I said to myself as I could feel myself coming back to normal.
"I was trying to reach you several times but you were just unavailable…" she said, breathing a sigh of relief. "I guess you were at work. How was your experience at Vix place?"
"Well…" I wasn't sure what words to use in describing what my experience was. "I think I might be done with that app for good this time around."
"Say what now?" she asked as she was sounding like she had just heard the worst thing ever. She hadn't heard the part of my encounter with my silver haired mate. At the moment, I was going to keep it all to myself until I was sure of all that was happening to me at that point.
"It didn't go so well, alright…?" I didn't want to have to say it all over again as I just didn't want to be pained by all of that again. My mind was already working hard to think of alternatives for survival besides that app. "I'm coming home already…"
"Fine…" she sighed. "I'll be waiting. And I'll be making your favorite meal before you get back here."
"Oh… that's thoughtful of you…" someone was finally getting the hang of things, I thought to myself. "Make it snappy, would you?"
"Yes ma'am," she laughed before hanging up on me.
"Go on then…" I said as I hung up.
I sighed as I saw the sun setting beyond the horizon. It was quite a beautiful scenery that I didn't care to enjoy as it felt like the sun had set on me entirely with the way I had blown my one chance to get a good review on the app.
It was about to be the longest bus ride ever as I got into the bus. But then, there was nothing more that I could do at that point. I was sure that the review would include the fact that I had run away with their clothes as well.
"Oh come on…" I sighed as I looked to see the wet clothes I had on were from the Vix place. That was simply it. They would also nail me with theft.
That made my phone quiver in my hands as I thought of the possibility of them calling me right that instant. Throwing my phone into a lake wasn't looking like a bad idea at that point, as I didn't want to be tracked down by anyone.
I decided to take one last look at the app before I would discard my phone into somewhere. In my distorted mind, I intended to type some abusive words before disappearing from view. I giggled in my head as I thought of that, as it would be really satisfying to leave after saying all of that.
"Wait… what…?" yet again, my phone wad shaking in my hands as I was rereading what I had just seen there. "Five star rating? From the Vix place…?"
Now I was sure that something had to be wrong.
