Raquel ran and ran as fast as her legs could take her without minding the thorns that pierced her bare feet once in a while as she ran through the dark alleys of a thick bush. She realized she didn't even know where she was again.
She was a little relieved it was already dark if not, those heartless pursuers would have followed the trail of the blood dripping from her feet to find her and take her back to that miserable prison.
She stepped on something and with a controlled scream to avoid being heard, she lost balance and fell. Raquel desperately suppressed the urge to yell and cry out loud at her unfortunate life, this wasn't the time for it and no one would hear her crys for help.. no one.
Ever since she lost her parents in a very strange way when she was twelve, her uncle had sold her to unknown people in the country side where she was used as a slave and she has been there for seven years now.
They discarded her like trash to take over her parents company Russell LinkTech, and told the media she was abroad for her studies because she couldn't stay around to cope with her parents death.
Now putting his son Sean as the heir to the huge establishment, forcibly snatching her inheritance from her. A rich heiress like her was lost in the country side, being force to farm for long hours and do rigorous work, she had even been sent to the construction site to carry bricks while being fed like a chicken and locked up in a godforsaken place.
Raquel clutched her mouth as she tried to sniff back her tears which were flowing like a dam. With unclear eyes, her sight struggled through the dark as she noticed that they have lost track of her. Her hair was tangled together in a messy bun, clothes torn. She was looking very haggard and malnourished.
Taking deep breaths to calm her racing heart, she summoned strength and got up
"No, no I can't remain here! I've come this far and I can't afford to give up now!" She muttered to herself as she limped and dragged herself to nowhere exactly, she just kept moving farther and farther.
This time around, she was determined to escape and had careful calculated her plan to this day, and now she had successfully evaded that hell hole, she wasn't going to allow herself to get caught and sent back there because her life would become more difficult than it was initially.
After long-suffering hours of maneuvering through leafs, sticks and thorns that felt like forever in pitch darkness, Raquel finally saw a light peaking through the bush and she felt joy in her heart, seems like she was near the road now. She clinged onto the light like the last hope of her life as she finally emerged and stood before an empty road with just lights.
She smiled and wiped her tears as she debated whether to go left or right. In the end, she chose right and had only taken a few steps when her body couldn't take it anymore and she slumped.
