"I'll explain everything when I get back, I promise." Sirena ran out, sad that she couldn't at least impress the goddess in front of her. She didn't even know her name but she was way past wanting to find out because now, she was fighting for her own life and the life of other sirens that she just discovered existed. Her mind was so screwed to think properly but she soon came up with a plan.
She began the search for Sephora. She was more than curious to see who this evil siren was and why she wanted to hurt her own kind because she was their leader.
"Angel, where do I find Sephora?"
"Go to the incubus University like you've already asked."
"So why did you direct me to the siren university first?"
"You had to see people you needed to see first, to have an understanding."
"When I get there, what do I do?"
"The chosen siren is more intelligent, powerful and capable than she knows. Over the years, there's been no one more vengeful than she is, but she's in the clouds. You need to get her out of there, and it will be today."
"You must be talking about me, but I don't feel all that powerful."
"The battlefield always announces itself, but courage and power? it's forced out."
Sirena's lips curved up in amusement. As she flew away from the siren university, she decided to take the bulls by the horns and attack first.
[Task to be completed in an hour, fifty eight minutes, twenty three seconds...]
The system reminded, but she remained unfazed and determined. Angel had already fed her everything she needed and now, she was going to let her rage pull through. She was going to show the system what she was capable of in faith, since she wasn't sure about what would happen.
It didn't take long before she arrived at the university so she flew down and walked in gracefully. A group of incubus men saw her and stopped in their tracks. They were playing a game on the field. She didn't want the attention so she tried to walk past, but it was unsuccessful.
A guy approached her and it wasn't hard to tell that he was a dashing demon. Since she woke up as the new Sirena, this was actually the most beautiful male she had come across.
"Hey." He greeted, full set of teeth in full display and dimples that made her weak in the knees, so weak that she had to look away.
"Hi." She smiled back shyly. She hated herself for that.
"To what do we owe this pleasure? We don't normally receive beautiful guests like you here." It was clear that he was flirting with her and for some weird reason, she liked it.
"I came here to get Sephora. She called me over so I wonder if you know where exactly she is, since it's my first time here."
She replied back as she lied through her teeth, barely hiding the grin that played on her lips.
"Yo bro, at least give us back the ball you flirt!" one of the guys yelled at them, teasing him. They were playing soccer and as Sirena looked around, she realized that they did things just like humans and the only difference was the mystic.
"Shut up!"
He yelled back, before turning back to face her, unconsciously biting his lips. He threw the ball back at them and faced her again.
He couldn't stop staring at her at this point so as he scratched the back of his head absent-mindedly, acting like he was shy, he decided to escort her.
"Yeah sure. I can take you to her if you like."
"No no it's okay. Just show me directions."
Sirena blurted out almost immediately, startling him and even herself. She wondered why she got so defensive. Maybe it's because she didn't want him to know that she was lying to him.
"Okay, she's in a lecture room with Arthur." He replied but in a cooler tone, and it was clear to see that he was still shaken up by her outburst and he became distant as well.
"Arthur." She repeated simply.
"Yes.
Sirena had no idea who this supposed Arthur was but she wasn't ready to give herself away.
"Okay, thanks. I'll get her."
He nodded and they exchanged a couple of more flirtatious glances.
Turning away to leave, she called out to Angel.
"Who's Arthur?" She asked the ai, expecting quick answers as she made her way to the building proper.
"Arthur is the leader of the incubus. They are plotting something together to appease the tryphons."
"Tryphons?"
"They are the most powerful creatures in the mystic world. All other creatures answer to them."
"Then what is he doing with Sephora then? Why are they trying to appease..these powerful creatures?"
"Go find out."
"Seriously?" She scoffed, rolling her eyes.
The ai didn't reply to her anymore and that's when she knew she was on her own.
The interior of the building was similar to the one of the sirens but painted to fit men. She honestly liked what she saw as she looked around, but it wasn't what she was here for.
[Task to be completed in an hour, thirty three minutes…]
Time was ticking by. It was time to face her destiny.
To locate the particular classroom wasn't an issue because it was the only one that the lights were on and she felt some type of dark magic around it that she wasn't comfortable with. Deciding to get it over with, she walked in.
Immediately she did, she saw two people standing right at where the blackboard stood. Just before she would walk up to them, the lights went out.
Shrieking, she let out a yelp as she felt herself losing her balance. She had always hated darkness, always.
She tried to navigate her surroundings but it wasn't working. Just before she would actually rollover after hitting her legs on a chair, someone picked her up from the floor. She heard wings flapping and could tell that she was on air. She tried to fight the creature that picked her up but it was of no use.
Immediately the person reached a reasonable height, she was dropped off and she came crashing on the floor like a pile of debris.
Letting out a sharp agonizing cry, she screamed at the top of her lungs, full of rage. Her vision was cranky.
"Who are you? Reveal yourself if you have the balls. This is your last chance!" She challenged away into the darkness. For someone that just had the worst fall of her life and could barely move, she made daring moves.
"They are always so weak. Don't you think so, Arthur?"
She heard a woman's voice in the darkness, and she searched for a source of light, trying to pull herself away from the voice.
"I do, Sephora." The man replied, and Sirena's heart began torace. Thoughts rushed into her head faster than she could even think of, and she knew that she was fucked.
Immediately the lights came back on, her eyes locked with the eyes of the enemy.
Sephora.
"Chosen siren my ass." She laughed darkly.
