Chapter 20 - Who Are You, Sirena?

"We have lives outside here and we manifest as humans in the real world. You're not the only one from there. Later I'll teach you how to get back or we'll go together."

"That would be nice." Sirena replied.

"Great. So, we go on missions to kill bad men. That's what we do. We seduce and kill them. That's the definition of our names. Some of us are opera singers so we use our charm and voices to get our victims to fall at our feet. Sometimes we don't even need to do much to get them to crawl to us. Killing is easy."

This news was new to Sirena and Quinn explained like this was something she had been doing for the longest time.

"It sounds like something I'm interested in, but I've never really done it before." Sirena said shyly, even though she was already looking forward to her first kill. She hated men more than anything now.

"You're our new leader. You're supposed to handle all these things yourself. You're not supposed to have a pause where you can panic. It's a duty you just have to follow. No other person deserves this throne so you have to show us that we are not deserving, do you understand?"

Sirena found it so hard to understand Quinn. She was super intelligent and was bossy in a good way. It was something she was super attracted to, and she loved the way Quinn spoke too with so much confidence, attacking her when necessary. She vowed to never piss her off from that moment. Apart from clearly wanting to fuck her, she needed someone like her by herself and she was not going to mess things up by telling her about it.

"I do, I understand you perfectly and I will make the university proud."

"Okay" Quinn looked at her momentarily and a weak smile consumed her face as if she was forcing herself to refrain from smiling too much.

"We've arrived. This is the training room."

They arrived in front of a tall door so Quinn pushed it open so they could walk in.

There were lots of girls in black combat suits and it was the first thing that caught Sirena's eyes. She was dressed in something similar but it wasn't quite fit for combat in the real world.

"It's beautiful right? I thought so too, don't worry yours is even more beautiful." Quinn assured her, but it even made her more curious.

"I have one?" Sirena asked as if she couldn't believe her ears.

"Of course. You get the most important and biggest missions as the chosen siren where you employ every means necessary to kill them."

"Right." Sirena nodded her head, completely understanding her.

"Anyway, this is our best army. They train here almost every day and night and our new recruits will arrive next week so they'll commence training immediately."

"Pretty cool if you ask me." Sirena replied, then she let her eyes scan the room. Most of the interior designs were made of the finest wood and she could tell that they were stable enough to last for even centuries. The training room was packed with machines, knives and training equipment. Some girls were doing acrobatics, some were trying to send a dagger flying across the room to their target: a dummy in a specific spot. Some other girls were shooting arrows. It looked fun and stressful at the same time.

The girls stopped when they finally noticed their presence and Sirena heard all of them calling her name and crowding her.

Sirena wanted to tell them not to bother but carry on but their voices swallowed hers so she didn't bother but embraced them instead. She would never get used to this life. Quinn stepped away to let her get acquainted with her new students.

When they finished, Quinn instructed the girls to go back to their training, but she called one over.

She introduced her to Sirena.

"This is Katy." Quinn said.

Sirena nodded as she smiled at the petite warrior. She looked good and beautiful. All the sirens were all hot to stare at for too long and were gorgeous in their own way. Sirena could only pity human men and she finally realized that it must definitely be so hard for them to resist their charms.

"So, your mission was successful. We've cleared him out of the way. I'm proud of your work but Sirena will take over and will decide your promotion and your package within the next week. Keep up the good work."

Katy smiled before gracefully turning around to walk away.

"Let's go. Let's see the opera house as well."

"Sure."

They left the training room and walked all the way to the opera house. It wasn't so far away so they got there in due time.

When they walked in, Sirena's jaw dropped. It felt as if they walked into a new world, totally different from anything Sirena had ever seen. When her marriage was still fresh in her past life, her husband used to take her to opera houses to watch shows.

Still, it was nothing like these ones. She couldn't tell if it was the presence of the sirens that were singing that amplified the appeal or if the Opera house was just too outstanding. Quinn couldn't even miss the awe that was all over Sirena's face even if she tried.

"You'll get used to it. Let's go to the human world. We don't want to bother them mid-singing. I just wanted to show you a few things, plus I know your back hurts and you need to rest up too. Thank you for everything, we would have been doomed without you. We'll continue from where we stopped later. There's a lot more for you to see, plus our missions will commence soon."

"Yeah it's a good idea. I'm sure my course mates are worried already."

"So you're a university student." Quinn asked, but she wasn't so surprised.

"Yes, it kind of happened that way." Sirena shrugged her shoulders like it was nothing.

Quinn nodded in understanding.

"How did you wind up here anyway?" Quinn asked, and it shocked Sirena to her bones. She was rooted to the ground where she stood. She had no answers and she couldn't come up with an excuse.

"What?" She asked, totally stupefied. She was not expecting this question at all.

"It's unusual for you to have found your way here by yourself so how did you do it? I know you're the chosen siren but who are you, Sirena?"
