She was reluctant at first but decided to walk in. She had no choice. If she wanted to be stronger and defeat all her enemies, she had to do whatever it takes.
Immediately she stepped her feet into the soil, the portal closed up and she jumped, scared, questioning her actions and why she listened to the system. She was even more bothered that there were freaking portals. She was barely holding herself together at this point as she looked around.
Feeling different, she looked down at herself to see that she had changed form. She was in her siren form now. The place was quite dark, but there was still civilization.
While she was stuck in her own head, the system spoke again.
[Host has to protect the sirens. Get ready for war.]
Sirenas eyes widened and her composure slipped upon hearing what the system said.
" Sirens? There are more of my kind? Multiple?"
Her eyes widened in shock, as if refusing to believe what she had just heard. The whole thing was news to her.
"Yes. Stop panicking and listen to the system." Angel replied.
"Where am I?" Sirena asked, this time looking around. There was something scary about this place. It didn't even look real.
"In the mystical realm." The AI answered all her questions before the system spoke again.
[Your kind is in danger, caused by their own leader. You have to save them from potential doom.]
"You can't just bombard them on me, what am I supposed to do? I've never prepared for war before. I don't know what to do!"
Sirena cried out.
"At least let the system finish talking before you start panicking."
"Right. Okay, okay, that's a good idea." Sirens replied back, begging her own feet to stop shaking vigorously as she paced around like she was crazy.
[Sephora, the current siren leader, is trying to give away the pack to the incubus. They want to take out all the sirens and she has offered them to the incubus for favor points.]
"And who are they supposed to be? Who are they?" She asked but the system only kept talking.
[Host is meant to stop her plans and save her kind before it's too late. Fourth task officially begins and should be completed within the next four hours.]
What the hell? She was a student in the real world for crying out loud. She wasn't cut out for this. She had to deal with other things and clear up the old Sirena's mess, she didn't expect things to get so complicated. She barely just found out about the existence of creatures and to crown it all, she was one. They had lived amongst humans all this time but in the shadows. It was even scary to think about it
"If I were you I would be on the move." Angel spoke, jerking her out of her reverie. She looked around again and nothing had changed. It wasn't some kind of scary dream she had dreamt about. This was her new reality, and it was hers to navigate.
"I don't even know where I am, Angel. How and where do I find this Sephora? This task is too difficult for me to handle."
"But if you don't do it, there will be grave consequences."
"Why do I have to get punished?"
"You still don't believe me when I say your subconscious called the system. You're hurt and as ferocious as ever but you don't even know it yet. This is the first real step towards becoming everything you've always wanted to be, and taking revenge on your killers."
Fueled by her own quest to do just that, Sirena gained strength. She was ready to defeat all the obstacles in her path towards success. Nina and Alex will never win. Once she is done with this mission, she'll start networking.
[Host is in perfect condition to begin this mission. Go to the Siren University. You shall find what you seek.]
After the interface disappeared, Sirena began the walk. There were no cars here or anything. She wondered how creatures managed to get by in a place like this. After walking for a couple of minutes towards basically nothingness, she snapped. Her legs were hurting so bad, especially since she was lonely and felt like she had been walking forever on a timeless loop.
"When do we get there? My feet hurt!"
She complained bitterly, at the verge of collapsing because she was very tired. The system strengthened her instantly because there was a task ahead of her. The system also told her that the strength gain will be deducted from her future siren points.
"Who said you had to walk?" Angel replied from her consciousness.
"What, what do you mean by that? I'm not allowed to?" Sirena was the most confused that she had ever been. She didn't even ask the AI for directions before she started walking to where she didn't know. Deep down, she felt she just successfully finished wasting her time for nothing. She was enraged but she tried to calm down.
"What happened to your wings? Why won't you use them? They are faster and you'll get to the university on time." The ai stated simply, shocking Sirena to the bones.
"The wings, you mean they work?" Sirena asked and she still had no plans to believe the ai. For all she knew, the ai had been having the most time bullying her since they binded.
"Yes."
"And you didn't tell me? Instead you watched me walk all this way?" Sirena cried out frustratedly.
Sirena thought about how typical it was for the AI to deliberately make her suffer for no reason. At the same time, she appreciated the AI in her mind for letting her know at least.
"You never asked." The AI pointed out.
Sirena could only resign and accept that it was still better than nothing but she didn't fail to tell the AI how she felt.
"Angel, when this is over, I promise to hate you the most."
"That's alright, now flap your wings to gather momentum and pull yourself off the ground." The AI replied, totally unbothered about the threat. Sirena hated that the most about her. She couldn't feel emotions so she would never understand how she felt.
Sirens had obviously never had to fly before so she couldn't believe that she wouldn't fall, but she still tried. Spreading her arms, she began to move them in an up and down motion and almost immediately, she pulled herself off the floor and took a leap.
She closed her eyes, thinking she would fall but immediately her feet left the floor, her body took charge as if it had gotten used to the wing overtime and the wing was now a part of it.
When she opened her eyes, she was in the air, flying. She was barely hovering over trees and she still couldn't believe it. When she was finally about to flap her wings and control them, she flew higher and higher until she could see the realm in a better view.
Excited, she squealed.
"Angel! I can't believe I can fly! I can't believe it!" She chirped away happily.
"Go to the university now. The real challenge begins in a bit."
