"Wow, music studio." Mike was amazed. A strange fish turned out to be a big whale right on his face.
"She is not a professional singer, no any training…" Mike was surprised they would show interest in Sheena. What's more, Sheena was not majored at Music.
Captured the suspect inside the eyes of Mike, Luis Smith smiled, "some basic training may make up some imperfectness, however, she is born to be a singer, with that tone, that intonation..."
No more explanation was needed, Mike had bought in what this whisker man said. Since the start scout had told the potentials, such a common people like himself would rather be silent than nagging like a granny.
What's more, once Sheena turns famed and wealthy in the future, maybe he could make some use of and earned something more.
"Fine, " Mike shrugged his shoulders and said, "Luis, it looked like you have something big to negotiate with Sheena, my loyal employee, you could do it later after her show. Before this, I will be on behalf of her and give you some entertainments."
As long as I treat him right and well, both he and Sheena would thank me very much in the future.
Bearing such a thought, Mike called a waitress and ordered quite a lot of snacks.
Witnessing the reaction of Mike, Luis smiled and just kept silence. Maybe he just got used to such scenes already.
Happy hours seemed to sway quickly before anyone noticed. It was 3:30 and Sheena had finished her job of 1-hour singing on the stage.
"Hey, this way." Mike was excited and waved to call her.
Sheena caught Mike at the corner at the first sight, however, the cellphone was buzzing inside the pocket of her trousers.
"Who? Called me at such a late night?" Sheena was a little big confused, but when she brought out the phone and looked at the number, she knew it's quite reasonable to get this call at such a timing.
It was the call number of her father Evan Hathaway, however, the one on the other side of the phone was not Evan Hathaway but a strange voice.
"Hello, are you the daughter of this drunk man, please come to No. 281 of Seagull Road, Bermingham District."
It turned out that, when the member of the family was hurt, this father wouldn't come, but if this father ran into any trouble, he would just come to her/them. Sheena couldn't help sneering and continued to listen to the guy talking on the phone. It's said that they were opening for business, but her father ate night snack with friends there. However, after he was drunk, all of his friends had gone and left her father drunk and slept on their dinner table.
"Please come as quickly as you can, we don't want this to interrupt our business tonight." The guy said after introduced the situation briefly.
Nodding her head, Sheena tried to calm herself down and just went straightforward to finish the case, so she begged for their patience and promised to rush to there as soon as possible.
When Sheena finally finished the communication and looked up to the place where Mike was sitting, however, Mike was quick enough to come in a worried face.
"Are you okay? You don't look good." Mike was happy for the performance of Sheena tonight, however, he could tell Sheena didn't feel good after she heard the call, Mike could tell Sheena was in a face expression that he had never ever had.
However, Sheena seemed to refuse to reveal anything, she just shook her head and apologized, "Mike, I may have to leave now, I have something that I have to deal with."
It wouldn't be a good thing anyway. Mike said in heart but superficially he just smiled to comfort her, "Just go if you like. Just do your things and have a good rest tonight."
Sheena nodded her head and gave a forced smile, "Don't worry about me, it's not a big deal."
"Hi, Miss…" Sheena was about to go when a strange whisker man standing still all the time behind Mike just stepped forwards and said, "I've heard your songs, it's so amazing, you have an adorable voice. If you don't mind, this is my name card and please call me if you have any interest in music making...to be a famous star…"
Sheena frowned and looked at this man in a surprising face, "who are you?"
"I'm a music producer, I have a music studio and would like to talk with you about the cooperation…" As if fearing that Sheena would just leave like this way, Luis Smith continued to say without waiting the reaction of Sheena but tried to make the introduction brief and short, "Please call me if you're interested."
It's too noisy and Sheena didn't catch too much of what this strange man had said, however, in order to get rid of the current situation, Sheena nodded her head to show her understanding and waved the name card in hand, "I'll keep it."
After that, Sheena made a slight bow and left without any hesitation, so what Mike and Luis Smith saw was the leaving back of Sheena urging to leave and disappearing into the door far away.
"May you good luck." Mike turned to Luis Smith and said, as if feeling pity for Luis Smith. However, Luis Smith just smiled and didn't care it at all. From the eyes of this girl, he knew she had a faith in something and he thought she would have the sense to seize on the chance.
Back to Sheena, she put the name card into the inner pocket of her bag at random. At such an age, she wouldn't have the fantasy of becoming a superstar. However, that man didn't look like a cheater. What's more, what would he get from such a girl like her?
However, it's not the time to think about such a fantasy. Sheena got rid of such thoughts and rushed to the confirmed destination said by the waiter.
When Sheena arrived at the restaurant, what she saw was a drunk man lying on his stomach on a small table, which was scattered with a mass of empty beer bottles. When getting closer to the table, Sheena even could hear he was nagging about something.
"Believe me, I will win in next bet!"
"Haha, don't need to worry, I have a lot of money…much much money…"
"Get off me, I will win…I will…"
Sheena bit her lips without saying anything. The only thing that could occupy her father's mind would only be gamble and money. He must have come from the gambling house, otherwise he wouldn't have been bothered by these so much. Something bad must have happened, and he must have lost a large number of money. The last time Sheena could see her father was he came back home for asking money from Lena Lim.
Although Lena Lim had scolded him like hell, Lena wouldn't stand his begging like shits.
"Miss, is this your family member?" A brown-hair waiter came up.
Sheena looked up and guessed he might be a university doing a part-time job, for he looked nice and didn't blame her too much. "Yes, I'm."
The admission of Sheena enlightened the eyes of this waiter, he smiled and said, "It's good to see you here, you didn't know, when he was drunk, he had messed around…"
Although Sheena had made some psychological construction in heart, Sheena was still embarrassed to hear this. Since the childhood, she was taught to make achievements to bring honors to the family, but the one gave her the life was doing nothing but bring shame and trouble to the family. She was not strong enough to stop all of these, but she was really shameful when dealing with all of these chaos for him.
"Sorry, for everything he had broken or damages, it will be on me." Sheena brought out the credit card.
The waiter was delighted to see this, as if he didn't expect Sheena didn't making any trouble or doubts on the compensation reasons. He may think he had to explain in details to allow Sheena to compensate all the broken bowls or dishes that this man had smashed. In fact, he didn't expect this vivid girl with a high pony tail would have such a messy father.
"You're his daughter?" When getting to the cashier, a woman at the weight of almost 150 pounds said when calculating on the calculator, "Having such a father like him, " this woman took a glance at the still Evan Hathaway before continued, "it's not a easy job." This woman didn't say too much, but she had said enough to describe how Sheena was feeling right now.
Sheena didn't know what kind of father-like love, for she had nothing to rely on since the childhood. For her, father was not the tree to protect the family but the mountain crashing on her. She had spent years to convince herself to accept such a father born of trouble.
