"C'mon man, you have a serious crush on her." David said excitedly.
"I don't know."
"Have you talked to her?" David asked.
"Yeah, I mean we talk when she comes to the counter to show me what she wants to buy."
"Oh my God, what is wrong with you, you have to go talk to her."
"I can't talk to her, I'm too shy and I might mess things up."
"Just walk up to her, say hi then you introduce yourself, it isn't that hard."
"What if I mess up?"
"I believe in you and I know you are not going to mess up." David assured him.
Jeremy thought for a while and gathered some little courage. He started to walk slowly to the girl and David was cheering him on in his mind.
David stood there watching Jeremy as he talked to the girl, and he could not help but wonder how Jeremy was doing, weather he was getting it right or not.
Standing in the counter alone, David was surprised Jeremy was not yet done. He decided to walk to the large window close to the entrance of the store to look outside.
Standing tall right next to the window with his two arms in his jean pocket, he looked through the window and he could see people walking along the road.
Something then caught his attention, he saw his uncle standing on the road talking to someone inside a black car. From the look of the car, it seemed like someone wealthy owned it.
There was a man also standing next to the car, tall, broad shoulders, very muscular and huge. From the look of the way the man stood, David could simply tell that he was a bodyguard. David realized that he was the same man he saw when he walked into the store who was with some other people.
He moved closer to the window to see whom his uncle was talking to, he cut a short glimpse of the person, and he confirmed that it was the same man in the store.
Thoughts ran through his mind, thoughts like, what his uncle was doing with that man and what they were talking about.
The thoughts went on in his head as the discussion between his uncle and the unknown man went on. Then the man stretched out his hands out of the car window to give Herald a bag.
David watched as his uncle took the bag. Filled with curiosity David walked to the exit of the store and as he was about to leave, but then Jeremy called his name.
Jeremy's face was bright and happy and that meant that the conversation with the girl went well. David turned back to Jeremy as he heard his name, but when he looked back through the window, his uncle was gone and the car just drove off, he sighed heavily as he went to Jeremy.
"I'm so happy right now man." Jeremy said with joy.
Filled with excitement he told David how the conversation went. From the look of David's face, it was obvious that he was not listening to what Jeremy was saying.
He was still wondering about what his uncle was doing with that man. It caught Jeremy's attention that David was not listening to what he was saying.
"What are you thinking about?"
David got himself. "I just saw my uncle talking to the same man who was in the store."
"Why are you thinking about that?" Jeremy asked. "Your uncle has been in this city for a long time now, so maybe they might just be good friends and nothing else."
David thought about it and realized that what Jeremy said was possible but he was not fully convinced "You're probably right, I shouldn't think about that too much." David said firmly. "Enough with that, how did it go with the girl?"
Filled with joy Jeremy said, "It went really well, I got her number."
"That's amazing man."
"Her name is Veronica, she lives really close to my house, and she said that she comes here to buy some vegetables for her grandma."
"I'm really proud of you man."
"Thanks, and as a treat I'm going to pay for the cereal."
David laughed, "You were going to pay for it anyway."
They both laughed as they walked to the counter to get the cereal. David picked up the cereal "I think I should be going now."
"Alright, I'll see you later". Jeremy said as they shock hands.
David walked out of the store and immediately thoughts rushed into his mind, thoughts of his uncle.
As he walked, he decided that when he arrive home, he would apologize to his uncle for what he did earlier. He understood why his uncle said what he said to him, and he was wrong for leaving the way he did.
David arrived home but the door was close which meant that his uncle was not around. He reached into his pocket to get his own key for the apartment.
He opened the door, entered and then closed the door behind him. He walked to the kitchen but when he got there, he suddenly got tired and decided to go lie down. He walked to his room and when he got there, he removed his shoes and threw himself on the bed, after a while he fell asleep.
David woke up after several hours passed. He did not feel tired anymore but he was still hungry, so he decided to go to the kitchen and eat the cereal. His belly gave continues rumble as he walked uncomfortably to the kitchen.
While he walked pass the living room, he noticed that his uncle's shoes where on the floor next to the door, "I guess his back." He thought. He reached the kitchen and went to the fridge, opened it and got milk, then he took a bow and poured the milk into it slowly.
He grabbed the cereal from where he left if and poured it into the bow of milk, them he took a spoon and started to eat.
When he was finished, he washed the bow and the spoon and placed them down. He turned back to go to his room and he saw herald standing next to the kitchen door.
