David stopped and picked up a gun, "A SIG Sauer P320." David said as he felt the gun.
Herald turned to him, "You know your guns."
"Yeah, sometimes I research about guns, just to know more about them."
"Well if you know that then you should know this?" Herald asked as he picked up a submachine gun.
Excitedly David walked to Herald, "That's a FN P90 TR." David said as Herald handed him the gun. "5.7*28mm compact, it fires 850-1,100 rounds per minutes, it has a range of 200m that's 660 ft." He continued.
"Well I am impressed honestly." Herald said.
"Thanks."
"We don't use the guns, there isn't any real action here in this city so there is no use for the submachine, the last time we had a real action was when someone started a rebellion on the cartel." Herald explained
"What happened in the war?" David asked.
"That would be a story for another time but I can tell you this, it ended shortly." He replied. "But anyway, Leonard said that the assignment should be clean and there is just one gun that can do a clean job." Herald said as he took the P90 from David and dropped it.
"You mean a Sniper?" David asked.
"Yes." Herald replied as he walked to a corner.
He opened a locker and in it, there were four sniper rifles hung in it. It immediately attracted David.
"Wow." David said as he moved to the locker.
Herald took one of the snipers and closed the locker.
"Now come on, I need to know how good you are with this." Herald said.
They left the room and David already knew where they were going to next but he just asked anyway.
"Where are we going to now?"
"I am going to train you." Herald replied.
For the first time in a while, David felt alive. The thought of the guns and training just reminded him of his old days with his father and he had finally found something he can do.
David and herald went out and the building and started to walk through some lonely street in the city to avoid too much eyes watching them because of the sniper.
After a long and rather silent walk mostly because of David was dissolved in his mind and Herald was not in the talking mood. They arrived at their destination and immediately David noticed that it was same warehouse Herald brought him to meet Leonard for the first time.
Inside the warehouse, it was brighter than the last time David was there and it was looking like a real indoor shooting range with all the targets mounted.
David realized that they must have cleared the placed before his arrival the first time.
David was still looking around but then Herald got his attention. "C'mon David let's do this fast, I have other things to do."
They both walked up to a firing point and Herald mounted the sniper in a good position to face the targets, which were at a very far distant.
"Now you can take it from here." Herald said as he stood back.
David was confused. "Wait what? I haven't even used a sniper before and you want me to just try shooting it like that." He complained.
"Look, it's just like shooting a normal gun just kneel and aim." Herald said.
"But..."
"No buts, just do it and get it over with." Herald interrupted David.
David knew that Herald had already made up his mind so he just had to go ahead with it. He went towards the sniper and knelt down as he held the gun.
He had never really used a sniper before so this was a completely new thing for him but he held on to what herald told him. David aimed the sniper at the target but he could not quite get his hand steady.
"If you want to get your aim steady just hold your breath while you are about to shoot." Herald said to him.
David immediately did that and it work. He aimed at the targets again but this time he held his breath and it was as if everything just stood still and not wasting time he shot the target and he did not miss.
"Yes." David yelled.
Herald was impressed but he was not surprise because he knew what David was capable of doing.
"You need to know that in some situation you won't have the time to hold your breath, so now continue shooting till you don't have any problem with it." Herald said.
David did not pay much attention to what herald said at that moment, all he heard was to continue shooting and that was what he did. He kept on shooting, he did not miss any target.
After a while of shooting, herald decided to stop him because he knew that David was not going to stop anytime soon on his own.
"That's enough training."
"Are you sure?" David asked.
"Yes." He answered. "I want you to go to the apartment now and get some rest. When you are done resting, meet me outside this building by 9:30."
"Ok, I will do that, I am actually exhausted anyway." David replied.
Herald walked away with the sniper and went out of the building. David wondered what Herald was going to do but he did not think about that too much because he was exhausted and needed to rest.
David went on home while Herald went to a bar to analyze the file on the man that David was meant to take out. Herald knew that his job was not over helping David, in fact he did not really think that the job would ever be over.
While Herald spent his time going through the file, David was in his room thinking, he was thinking about everything, about how his life just changed so fast and he did not even know if it changed from bad to good.
After a while, David had a short nap. When he woke up it was already 9pm so he freshened up and immediately went out of the house.
While he went to meet Herald, he walked past the shop that Jeremy worked in and he realized that he had not eaten anything today and he was hungry but he could not stop, he had to go meet his uncle.
He was surprised to see Jeremy working, through the big glass window of the store, because his shift was supposed to end a long time ago.
David did not have much time to think, so he went on to meet his uncle. Finally, he reached the warehouse and he saw herald standing at the entrance.
