"Its 9:35." Herald said. David was not expecting that at all. "Follow me." Herald continued.
Immediately, Herald started to walk and David followed him behind. Herald took him to a small club and they went to the back alley.
"So while you were having a nap I went through this file, it contains information about the guy you need to take out." Herald said.
Immediately herald said that, everything rushed back to David's mind and he realized that he still had to kill someone.
David did not say anything, "The man Andrew, he comes to this club every day. He comes by 8pm and leaves around 10pm, which means he would be leaving the club soon." Herald continued.
David was still grasping everything, he did not know how he will do that but he knew that he had to do it.
"So when he leaves the club, he uses this alley to go, thankfully this alley is really lonely."
"But how do I get him." David asked.
"Hmm, you are going to get on the roof of that building over there." Herald answered as he pointed at the building. "That building has the best point you would use to take him out and plus no one would be able to see you." Herald explained.
When herald explained everything to David, he gave David the sniper. David hesitated before he took the sniper.
"So you take it from here." Herald said as he walked away slowly, but then he turned and said. "And don't think too much about this and just do it, remember killing him, you will be doing this city a big favor, this world would be better with people like him gone." Herald walked away.
Herald knew exactly how David was feeling but he knew that if he stayed there with him, he would not be able to do the job.
David watched Herald as he walked away and his mind was completely blank even though Herald just told him everything he needed to know.
After a while, it was 10pm and David knew that he had to do something fast. He immediately went up the roof of the building using the ladder that was on the side of the wall.
He went to the edge and placed the sniper on the ground as he knelt down and positioned himself. He realized that it was just as he trained at the warehouse, all he had to do was hold his breath, aim and shoot.
After a while of waiting, the man finally walked out of the club looking drunk and David waited for him to go into the alley.
The man walked through the alley but then he stopped, the man then put his hand into his pocket, and brought his phone out to answer a call.
David realized that this was the perfect time to take the shot because he was not moving. David aimed at the man's head but he could not pull the trigger. It was much easier shooting a target that did not have a heartbeat, little sweat started to drip from his head and his hands became slippery.
He held his breath to shot, everything froze and all he could see was the man and he tried to pull the trigger but he could not.
The man finished with his call and started to move again, David was messed up because he knew that now he had to shoot him while he was moving.
David took a deep breath and remembered what his uncle told him. "The world would be a better place with people like him gone." David aimed slightly forward and pulled the trigger, the man fell on the floor and died. The bullet went through his skull.
David closed his eyes and he started to fell dizzy all of a sudden, he turned and saw someone walking towards him, when the person came closer, he realized that it was his uncle.
"C'mon, let's go home." Herald said as he took David's hand and pulled him up.
They both went home. David did not say anything while they went and when they arrived at the apartment, David went straight to his room.
David laid down on his bed and Herald just stood at the door as he watched David sleep. When David finally fell asleep, Herald walked out of the room and went to the fridge. He opened the fridge, took out a beer and started to drink it.
Herald drowned in his thoughts because he watched David kill a man. Herald never left David, he just went up the building without David looking. He could never leave David alone to do something like, herald took more sips of the beer as he kept on thinking.
Herald thought that David would not be able to it, his alternative plan if David could not do it was to take the shot for him and tell Leonard that it was David who did it. But now because of him David had blood on his hands. When he finished the beer, he went to bed.
The next morning David woke up, but he did not get up from bed, he just laid there thinking about last night. Herald walked into the room and saw David just lying down there.
"Go freshen up, we are going to see Leonard." Herald said that and left the room.
David heard what his uncle said but he just laid there. After a while, he stood up, went to take a shower, and brushed his teeth.
When he finished, he went the sitting room, he saw Herald waiting for him. On seeing David, Herald opened the door and walked out, and expected David to follow him and David did just that.
David did not eat anything because he did not feel like eating. He just followed his uncle.
When they left the house, they went straight to Leonard. While they walked, they passed the shop that Jeremy worked. Jeremy saw them and he was expecting David to walk into the shop but he did not. He thought it was strange that David was spending time with his uncle because they hardly spend any time together.
They kept on walking and David noticed that they passed the club that he went to see Leonard the last time. He realized that his uncle was taking him somewhere else to meet Leonard but he did not ask his uncle where, because he did not feel like talking.
