Whenever David leaves the store, he would normally go back home and just stay there all day. But now that everything has changed for him, he did not feel like going home, so he thought of going to buy some new clothes for himself with the money he made.
He had never actually explored the city before because he was always at home, so it took him a while before he found a cloth store.
David waked into the store, he put his hood over his head with his hands inside his pocket and his head slightly bent down. It was a usual thing he does whenever he walks into a crowded place, but he store was not too crowded.
He stood at the entrance for some time looking around to see the section where there are hoodies. When he found it from a distance, he bent his head back down and walked slowly to the section.
There were different colors of hoodies there but the ones that caught his eyes were the black ones because black was his favorite color. While picking the hoodies, something else caught his eyes, it was a girl at the other corner of the store.
The girl was fair with dark black hair, she was short but not too short and slim maybe his age but he was not sure. She was wearing a black jacket and jean.
He could not stop looking at her and no girl had ever made him like this. After a while of weirdly staring, she looked at him and caught him staring then she just smiled, turned away and walked slowly out of the store.
David watched her as she left. When she left, David finally got back to his senses and he took three identical black hoodies, then went to the cashier. When he got to the cashier, he brought out cash, dropped it on the table in front of the cashier, and left the store without saying anything.
When he left the store, he decided to go to the apartment and drop the clothes he bought. While he was going, he passed an electronics store, he looked at his pocket, and there was a still lot of money remaining, so he decided to go get a new phone.
David got to the apartment after getting the phone, he set the phone up at the store so he just went straight to his room and dropped the hoodies on the bed then sat on the chair next to the bed.
Drowned in his thoughts, thinking about how much he spent today, it was more than he has ever spent since he came to this city.
He also thought about the girl he saw today at the store, he could not get her out of his mind because this is the first time he had felt this way for a girl for a while now. To stop himself from thinking too much, he stood up from the chair and went to the kitchen to get something to eat.
Walking to the kitchen, he realized that there was no food item and he would have bought something while he was with Jeremy, so all he had to eat was cereal, which he did not feel like eating.
For the first time in a while, David felt stuffed staying in the apartment, all he wanted to do was to go out. He went to his room and changed into one of the new hoodies he bought and went out of the apartment.
He did not know where to go or what to do so he just started to walk and think. After a while, he remembered what his uncle told him about hanging out in the compound so he decided to go to the compound.
David got to the compound and was standing in front of the compound gate looking at it with two of the guards standing there, he wanted to enter but the guards did not open the gate.
"Umm I want to enter the compound, I came here earlier with my uncle and I'm like a new Hitman." He told the guards.
The guards waited for a while before they opened the gate and David entered.
He thought of going around the compound to explore the place which he did. After a while of exploring the compound, he decided to go inside the building.
After a while of aimlessly walking around the building, he was about to pass an open room but someone called him.
It was like a living room but inside was just chairs and tables like almost all the rooms in the building, some had bookshelves.
When David noticed that someone called him from inside the room, he looked and saw five men inside and they were all looking at him. First, he tried to deny it in his mind that they were calling him but it was obvious that he was the one they were calling.
He thought of ignoring them but he did not want to leave a bad first impression. He went in to answer them, the men in the room were obviously older than him which made him more nervous answering them and none of them were smiling, they were all keeping a straight face and somewhat intimidating but David summoned up some little courage not to seem too nervous as he went to them.
Some of the men were dressed in shirt while some with shirt and jacket and now David was just realizing how almost everyone here were dressing like that.
"You must be the new Hitman and you are still a kid, how did you manage that." One of the men said.
Before David could answer, another man interrupted. "Yeah, how did you manage that, I mean you are just a kid, are you sure you know what we do here?" He asked in an intimidating way.
David felt nervous and he did not know what to say.
"You know, any little mess up you do, you are going to die and that's how it is here, are you sure you are cut out for all this, why don't you go out now while you still can." Another man said.
David did not know what to say, he was just standing there looking, then suddenly the men started smiling at him as if they all just wanted to scare him.
"Don't be scared boy, we are just playing with you." One of the men said while smiling.
"Yeah don't take it to heart, you are part of this family now, and families protect and take care of each other."
David was out of words but also relieved.
"We know that you are Herald's kid and herald is one guy we all respect a lot here so that means we also respect you."
"Thanks..." David finally said a word.
"We heard about your assignment and the way it was done so cleanly and it was your first time, that's really impressive, do more of that and you might end up at Leonard's really good side."
"So you mean Leonard has other sides?" David asked.
"Yeah and you don't want to get on his bad side at all, but you don't need to worry about that, with your talents I'm sure you'll be fine." One of the men answered.
While they were talking, Herald walked past the room, but when he passed, he noticed someone like David in the room he just passed so he walked back slowly to see if it was David.
He saw David there and the way he was talking with the other men there. He was glad to see him like that, he was finally talking to people other than his best friend and he was glad that he was at the compound instead of staying at home or doing something else somewhere else. This way he could keep an eye on him.
