Finally reaching Roselyn's apartment, Martha knocked twice before opening the door and letting herself in. " Get yourself out here!" Martha shrieked, it was obvious she was really happy.
" Calm your horses down, I'm here, I was just doing some things in the kitchen." Roselyn sang walking into the living. " Girl it was way better than we expected it to turn out to be. Dennis believed every single thing, you should have been there, her expression was priceless and hilarious. She didn't expect something like that to come out of the blue and up in her face like that." Martha laughed, pouncing on the couch.
" I'm happy everything walked out fine, but we aren't in the clear just yet." Martha rolled her eyes in annoyance at Roselyn's remark. " You my dear is absolutely no fun, you're such a fun killer. Of course I know we're not in the clear yet, we still need to get her convicted but everything is going to happen according to our plan trust me."
" I know that, but..but what about her pregnancy I told you about earlier, if Dennis finds out about her carrying his child he might stop believing you and everything would go south." Roselyn hissed pacing around the living room. She was right to worry, if Dennis found out everything was a conspiracy including his mother's death, he wouldn't be spearing them.
" I'll tell you again like I told you before Roselyn, Dennis is eating from the palm of my hand he'll do anything I tell him too. And about Lucy's pregnancy it's all your damn fault!." Martha cussed. Roselyn was shocked. " What do I have to do with this?."
" You had everything to do with this, the herbs you were giving her was to make sure that she didn't get anywhere close to the word pregnant." Roselyn rolled her eyes in annoyance. " Don't you think I know that? but there was nothing I could do though, she refused to keep taking them. And you know I couldn't force her or she would have actually suspected something was off."
" True, but at least you should have tried something.. anything really but now it doesn't matter a mistake is a mistake. It won't change anything." Roselyn was relieved. Nothing could change their plans now, not even Lucy's pregnancy. " Don't you think that we should get rid of it?."
" Get rid of what?.. Lucy's baby?.. I have given that a thought but it wouldn't be necessary. Dennis would not be requesting for any kind of test to be done, he doesn't believe her. That little bastard in her belly won't be an issue. But you!, stop with this little scared attitude of yours we'll need to be at the police station tomorrow she will also be there. This scary cat attitude that you have might get them to start suspecting us, and we'd get caught and our plans would be exposed, and I'm not planning to get caught." Martha hissed. This woman was starting to piss her off, she shouldn't become a threat cause eliminating her wouldn't be hard. Martha thought.
" Look I'm not scared, it's just that loopholes need to be fixed if not the police would be finding them out instead." Roselyn muttered. " I understand your worries, but suck it up, they would start to suspect if they see you like that." Martha said. You could tell she was annoyed. Roselyn sighed. " Fine I hear you, I'll stop, and Louisa? Dennis' mother?.. the scene was obviously effective right?."
" Very effective, to be honest I'm actually proud. At least something you did was right. Everyone believed everything, and to wrap this case up Lucy needs to stay in jail. Rotting there is something that needs to happen to her, so I hired a lawyer. Dennis would think he was the one who hired him."
" Ohh I see, pulling the strings from behind. I get it."
" You better, cause after now nothing can go wrong. If it does, it's down town hill for us." Martha sighed as she ran her fingers through her hair.
" Nothing will go wrong, what about the people who took care of the body?" Roselyn asked. " They all have been well paid, they did everything perfectly. By now they should already be half way across the state, I don't want to leave any loose ends. Lucy might do something, she might want to start digging, and just in case she does that woman won't be finding anything useful."
" Hopefully she won't. I know her Martha, she won't stop once she starts. Lucy would do anything in her power to prove to everyone that she's innocent." Martha smirked. " Then we just have to push her against the wall, we'll push her past her limits and once she's exhausted that woman won't have anything left in her to keep on fighting. Lucy will give up, I will make sure of it."
Miles away from all the chaos. A man could be seen, watching the entire city from a glass window. By just looking at him, you could tell he wasn't in a very good mood. Minutes passed and another man walked in, he was much slimmer looking, he was the strange man's secretary. " Boss?." The slim man called out.
" What is it? I'm not in the mood for your stupid tactics today." The man answered. His voice sounded cold, like he has been on the rocks for a while. " I'm really sorry for interrupting Boss, but I've got news. It's about Rodman's." The man was suddenly interested in what his secretary had to say.
" What is it?.. What happened." The man asked. " Well Boss, my informants found out something, they got some information that Louisa Rodman was found dead in her son's house this evening." the secretary said.
" Dead?.. Did your source tell you what happened?." the man asked. " Actually what they heard was that she was murdered by her daughter in-law, Mrs Lucy Rodman."
The man sighed with content. " I've watched them for some time now, they are all barbaric animals, but Dennis' wife? just looking at her I know she would not have the heart to hurt a cat. But killing a human being? sounds even more impossible."
" Looks can be deceiving Boss, you've been a victim of that venomous play. You should know better." The man laughed like what his secretary said was funny. " You are not wrong, being a victim I should have learned. And I have learned truth be told, that's why I'm saying Dennis' wife would not have killed Louisa. That witch is as vile as they come, I could've seen it coming from miles away."
" You think they could be doing to Mrs Lucy what they did to you in the past Boss?."
" I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. Just make sure that you don't leave any stone unturned in this, someone might have gotten the chance to kill Louisa first but that doesn't mean I'm done with that family. Their entire generations to come? I'll be burning them to the ground." the man growled. It was obvious he was very upset.
" Tell your informants to continue keeping their eyes out and ears on the ground. I want to know absolutely everything that's happening and that is going to happen, I want nothing omitted. Do you understand?" the secretary nodded his head. " I understand
you very clearly Boss."
