" Well, better late than never they usually say. I'm glad you came to your senses Lucy, I wasn't expecting you to actually call for me." Samuel smirked, he walked into the small room Lucy was waiting for him in.
" I was an idiot to think that fool for a man would see reason, I was here rotting away while he was out there confessing his love for that witch." Lucy hissed. " I want him destroyed, but first I want him to suffer, I want him to go through so much pain. I want him to be on his knees once I'm done with ruining his life."
Samuel smiled. " I'm happy you're finally seeing the truth, I actually thought you were going to be in jail for like a day or two before you opened your eyes to see your husband for who he really is." Lucy took the document and placed it in front of Samuel. " Dennis isn't my husband anymore, he came in today and gave me this. He gave me the divorce papers to sign, he told me to my face that he regretted marrying me."
" I've never felt so betrayed my entire life, I've done nothing but to love and care for him. And the first opportunity that comes his way he throws me under the bus like I'm some toy he's done using." She snarled. " I see you've signed your part, I would've said I told you so, but I guess you've seen your fair share of harshness."
" Don't mock me." Samuel laughed. " I'm not mocking you Lucy." Lucy frowned, her hands in fists. " Tell me if you'll help me, you said so yourself right? you wanted to ruin their family. And no one knows the Rodman's like I do, I know everything there is to know. I know about the in's and out's of the business, I was the one who basically built it to what it is today. You need me."
" I know I do, that's why starting today our plan will be taking effect immediately." Samuel sighed as he ran his fingers through his hair. " And me? what about me, where's my part in this?" Lucy asked.
" Your court case is today right?" he asked. " Yes, I'd be escorted to the court house in a few hours. Why'd you ask?".
" You might not like this but, at court today you'll have to plead guilty." Samuel mumbled. " What, what are you talking about, I should plead guilty? but I didn't.. I didn't do anything, I didn't kill her! Why should I plead guilty when I didn't commit any crime? Do you know what that would do to my reputation, everyone in the city would think that I'm a liar. I'm not doing that, I'm not admitting to anything." Lucy panicked, she thought he wanted to help her, she thought they both wanted the same thing. Now he's telling her to plead guilty in court? there was no way she was going to do that.
" Calm down Lucy, calm down, listen, you need to listen to me first. It's for your own good–
" And what good would it do for me when I plead guilty huh? I would get locked up in prison, I've got a child to think about Samuel!." Lucy was furious, what kind of stupid plan was this? " Listen to me please, you have to think about it. You need to plead guilty, you have no evidence to prove your innocence. They have everything all set up there, if you go to court and plead innocent today you'll be sentenced to twenty years, twenty years with hard labor Lucy!." Samuel hissed.
" What? That's not true, I don't believe you." Lucy mumbled. Twenty years in prison? she'd never be able to get revenge then. " You better believe it Lucy, because it is true, I know that you didn't kill Louisa, but if you admit that you did you'd be giving a lesser sentence, five to six years give or take. You could get out even earlier on good behavior. Our enemies don't know that, and that's going to be our leverage against them, what you don't understand is that they actually want you to say that you're innocent. They're trying to make you throw yourself under the bus, don't fall for their tricks I'm begging you."
" I got it for five years? What about my unborn child? When I give birth I can't leave my child in an orphanage for five years. I just can't, my child would suffer in there!" Lucy whimpered. This wasn't going to be as easy as she thought it would be. " That's why we're partners Lucy, your child would legally be mine, so you don't have to worry about him or her being in an orphanage, that would never happen when they're under my watch."
" Legally? What in heaven's name are you talking about? How would my child be yours?" Lucy was confused. " We get married, I know it may sound bazaar to you but it has to be done, we need to join forces to bring the Rodman's to their knees. Plus if your child is legally mine, as my own you would be putting them under super vigilant protection, no harm would be coming to your child when they're with me. I swear to you." Lucy was silent. To be honest she didn't know how to react, but she had to choose, she had to choose if she was going to go with Samuel's plan and spend five years in prison and if she's lucky she'll be out sooner on good behavior. Or she could decide to throw everything under the bus and say that she's innocent, but by doing that she'd also be putting her child in danger forever, Martha might even come up with a sinister plan to harm her child while she was away.
It was obvious what her decision was going to be.
Lucy sighed softly rubbing her belly. " I'll go with your plan, but you have to promise me one thing." Samuel smiled. " What is it, anything you ask for Lucy, I swear on my life I'll make it yours."
" Promise me you won't keep me away from my child once it's born. That's the only thing I ask for." Lucy sobbed. " I can assure you Lucy, you will see your child. Nothing will stop you two from being together." Samuel assured me. He then brought out some other documents and placed them on the table.
" Sign this, and by the end of today you'd be Mrs Meyer. And by the time we're done with those people who hurt us, there won't even be crumbs left over to show that they ever existed."
" After today there's no turning back?." Lucy hesitated. " No t
urning back Lucy, we'll ruin them."
