Martha was still lost in her thoughts when she bumped into Roselyn. " Oh my goodness, you could at least watch where you're going." Roselyn whined holding her arm that collided with Martha. " Oh Roselyn, when did you get here?" Martha asked. You could tell she was uneasy.
" Well I came in when you guys did, I just finished giving my statement to the police. Dennis told me to come get you, so you could give your statement." Roselyn said. " Is something wrong? Dennis told me that you went to see Lucy. Why would you do that? you know it's risky right?."
" Oh please Rose, just keep your mouth zipped up." Martha said as she rolled her eyes. " Don't try teaching me what I already know, and for your information I wanted to see her so that I could crush her morale. If she doesn't have any energy left in her she'll let the law take its course. And that would be a lot better for us if it happens."
" Oh I think I get it now." Roselyn nodded. " As you should, now it's your turn, you go and see her. The more we hit her below the belt, the harder it'll be for her to get up. Which will in turn benefit us and the less problems we have to deal with, the better for us." Martha said.
" But wait, why do I have to see her? I mean what if she tries something?" Roselyn asked, a little scared as she knew Lucy's anger was greatly justified. " My goodness Roselyn man up please, I went in there. And I came out, I'm alive, I'm not? go in there right now! the faster we lower her fighting spirit the better for the both of us." Martha said before leaving Roselyn alone in the hall.
Seeing Martha leaving her Roselyn hissed in annoyance, but she still had to obey Martha's orders. It was all part of the plan after all, she also had to do her part.
Softly rubbing her palms together she began walking towards the door, before opening it a sinister look soon came on her face. Roselyn hated Lucy there was no doubt about that, so rubbing salt on her wounds would not be so hard to do. " Apologies, if I came a little late. I had really important matters to handle. I do hope they've been treating you right in here " Roselyn mocked walking around the room, Lucy was now seated her head on her palms.
" Just the friend I wanted to see." Lucy muttered, raising her head from the table she smiled. " I'm glad you had the spare time to see me, I mean you did participate in putting me in here. I figured you'd be too busy to visit your friend."
Roselyn frowned in confusion, Lucy was calm about this and she noticed. Maybe a little too calm, she expected Lucy to try to claw her eyes out by now. But she needed to do what she came here for, she still needed to try to break her morale, just like Martha had instructed. " Well my friend being accused of murder is something I must come to witness myself you know. It's hilarious really, the neighborhood couldn't stop talking about how you were dragged out of your house yesterday."
" It's funny though, to know that someone like you could do such a thing. How despicable for someone like you, a woman respected by everyone, to commit something as horrible as that, I mean killing your own mother-in-law? disgusted can't even cover up how irritated you make me feel right now." Roselyn laughed. Lucy was silent for a while, and it made Roselyn feel uneasy. " Forging ignorance won't be of much help to you Roselyn, I know that you and Martha had a hand in this plot. And trust me, you won't get away with this, one way or another I'm going to prove that you two framed me up. Even if it's the last thing I do on this earth, I'll make you both pay for every single pain you're making me go through." Lucy hissed.
" Oh Lucy please, realize your mistakes and the court might actually lessen your sentence. Going on and on about you being innocent wouldn't be of much help in your case without evidence." Roselyn smirked, she knew she was cracking Lucy. The process was going to be tough, but any little progress would help their plan go a long way.
" Mistakes? the only mistake I've made here is trusting you, you think I didn't know that you were the one who put those used injections in the bag? you knew all along what was going to happen. You both, you and Martha deserve so much more than death for trying to make me take the fall for something I didn't do." Lucy hissed, tears threatening to fall from her eyes.
" Oh no, no no my dear Lucy, that's not right. Try and understand, I didn't do anything to harm you. You harmed yourself and destroyed your life all on your own accord. Giving you a little push only quickened up the process." Roselyn laughed.
" And the intoxicated herbs? you were giving me concoctions for five good years Roselyn, all in the name of me getting pregnant faster. And goodness me, such a coincidence that I stopped taking them and I got pregnant not long after, you've been lying to me this entire time." Lucy said softly. She was so calm about this it still shocked Roselyn. If Roselyn expected her to scream and yell at the top of her voice, she should keep on dreaming. Lucy thought to herself, screaming and yelling about the way she was being treated unfairly would not help her nor would it be of help to her baby.
She was determined to take the bull by the horn. " It wasn't my fault you didn't confirm about them, you dug that hole yourself too. You should really stop blaming others, taking my advice now would actually be of help to you. I mean now that you'd be spending your time in prison, I would be of great use if you learned to know your place."
Lucy couldn't take it anymore, having this conversation was starting to make her feel dizzy. Her head was starting to spin. " Leave now Roselyn, or I swear I would be convicted for a crime I actually committed."
Roselyn scoffed, rolling her eyes. " I don't enjoy being here, trust me, this hell hole is only meant for people like you anyways." She then turned heading for the door.
Hearing the door close shut, Lucy couldn't help but let the tears roll down her cheeks. Her walls were breaking down, she could feel it. But she wasn't going to let that stop her, being a mother has given her a whole new thrive to go on and she was willing to use it
to her advantage.
