The next day came very fast for everyone, finally reaching the police station, Dennis packed his car in the driving lot. Sighing as he killed the engine, Martha rolled her eyes as she looked at him, she then shifted in her seat turning towards him. " My love? do you think we could get to see that woman today?." She asked. Dennis groaned as he ran his palm slowly over his face. " To be honest Martha, I hope they don't let us see her disgusting face for a long time, cause I wouldn't know what I'd do to her if I saw her right now. I also hope that they have gotten her to admit to what she did."
Martha smirked. " There's no need to worry about my love." She muttered, rubbing her fingers on his chin. " I'm sure the police officers would do all they can, but they can do so much, rest assured my love, she won't be escaping the law. That's not happening, mother has to be avenged. I'll make sure that happens, be it through tooth and nail, I promise you."
" Don't just go that far, remember that you're carrying my child right now. Don't think of doing too much" Dennis smiled at her. " Our baby doesn't need the extra stress that the wrench is trying to cause for us. I'll be the one to see that she answers to the law, she'll be in jail for a very long time I assure you."
" I believe you'd do everything in your power for your mother to get the justice she deserves. That wrench of a woman can't escape her crimes you know that very well, if she does manage to escape our baby will never be safe" Martha whimpered as she shanked into the car seat.
" I know my love, and I fully guarantee that you'll both be safe with me." Martha sighed. " Fine I've always trusted you, but we should really get going into the station now. We wouldn't want to get on the authorities' nerves for keeping them waiting would we?." Martha said pulled off her seat belt before getting out of the car. Dennis immediately followed suit.
As they both walked into the police station, it didn't take long before they sighted the police officer from yesterday. " Good morning Mr Rodman, I see that you're here early." the officer greeted me. " Yes, I decided to come a little early. Hope that's all right?" Dennis asked. " Yes it's very much alright, getting your statements now would make things go faster." The officer said, looking at some documents he was holding.
" Well I just wanted to get this over and done with before anything else. Having that criminal in jail would be the highlight of my year." Dennis said, his face squeezed in annoyance.
" Alright then, since you're both here we would be taking your statement first Mr Rodman. Please follow me, this way." the officer said, trying to lead Dennis to the interrogation room. " Wait." Martha stuttered out. " While you're working with Dennis, I'd like to have a little talk with Lucy if you would allow me too."
" But love!." Dennis hissed. " It's dangerous, what if she tries to do anything to you or to the baby?." Martha smiled, rubbing his hand. " I can assure you that nothing of the sort will happen, besides the police men would be outside the door. Right officer?."
" Yes Mr Rodman, if Miss Martha would like to have a conversation with the accused then that is alright. The officers on duty are at her beck and call, I can assure you on that." the officer agreed. " Fine!" Dennis surrendered. " You can go talk to her, but once I get back you'd be giving the police your statement then we'll leave this place immediately. You understand?".
" Yes, I understand your love very clearly. Where is she? I promise I won't take much time.".
" She's in the waiting room, go down the hall to the last door on your right." The officer directed. " Thank you." Martha said before going down the hall like the officer instructed.
Walking through the door she passed the police officers, Martha's sweet demeanor changed like a light bulb switching off.
" Oh Lucy, Lucy, Lucy, you look horribly nice this morning." Martha mocked as she closed the door. The lighting in the room was the same, the light bulb hanging still emitted light to the middle of the room. Lucy looked at Martha with little to no expression on her face, " I don't know why you're here, but I expected you I'm not going to lie. You should turn around and leave this place."
" Oh no, doing that would make me look bad now wouldn't it?." Martha smirked, sitting on the chair in front of Lucy. Lucy was in cuffs, they were intertwined between her hands and legs, Martha was sure she wouldn't do anything to her. Besides some of the police officers were outside the door, one yelled and they'd come rushing in.
" I know you're not here to sympathize with me, so what are you doing here?" Lucy muttered. " Well for obvious reasons of course, you are the only sensible reason for me to come to this shabby dump, unfortunately."
" Good to know I'm so important for you to come here." Lucy said. " I apologize for Dennis' absence, he's currently with some officers giving his statement about his mother's death." Martha sighed. " It was really something of an fortunate nature that the murder happens to be no one else but his dear loving wife, such a sad tale for the ears wouldn't you agree?."
" You know very well that I didn't kill Martha, you know within yourself that I would never do such a thing!." Lucy coughed out, her voice low. " The situation we saw you in at the house speaks something entirely different, I seriously doubt that you're telling the truth." Martha smiled, her expression sinister.
" Both you and Roselyn were the ones who framed me up, and I promise you that your little victory won't last long. But until then, enjoy yourself with my husband, hopefully he'll do better for you than he ever did with me."
" Oh trust me Lucy, I'll be taking good care of him. You don't have to worry about that, I'm pregnant with his baby. I feel that him taking care of me wouldn't be out of the question, he'll be doing that without any hindrances." Martha mocked as she rubbed her tummy softly. " Especially now that I'm pregnant with his child. He would do anything I tell him to, without question. Tell me Lucy, how does it feel to have your man taken away from you."
" Got out.." Lucy whispered softly.
" Excuse you?.." Martha laughed. " Get out of here! I swear to God if I set my eyes on you again I'll kill you!." Lucy yelled, hitting her hands on the table. " Leave Martha!."
Martha immediately stood up and left for the door, scared to her bone. Never in their entire friendship has she seen Lucy react that way, but she shook it off. Lucy couldn't do anything to her, Martha thought to herself.
She had to watch her back with Lucy, not knowing what was under her sleeve could be a problem to her plans. And Martha could not have that.
