Chapter 2 [Who I Am]

.

.

.

It all started 2 weeks ago when I received a letter.

The sender was asking if he could redo my novel.

At the time I was dumbfounded and had no plans to write a novel.

There was a number in the letter but I never answered.

It started to make no sense to even say why I hadn't written the novel.

When I thought about it, it was simple.

I had no love and enthusiasm for writing. What had happened to every writer one day had happened to me. Even writing each character separately and planning their personality traits became difficult.

Why did I have to start all over again?

But the person who sent the letter started to do it every day.

Once, then twice. Finally, on the 3rd or 4th attempt, I decided to open the letter and analyze it.

[Please.... This is just for my personal satisfaction. I will be very happy if you start writing again and I will not reveal the remake to anyone.

I'm willing to pay you 1000$ for every new episode you write. Please don't break my heart.

This is just between you and me. Who knows? Maybe you'll find some inspiration to continue the story...]

It was quite a long but simple letter

Then I received a message on my phone. I opened it and looked at it.

_______

20.000$ has been sent to your xxxxx bank account via fast method.

________

And in the description, it said exactly the following.

{"This is an advance for you to give your book another chance."}

Was this guy serious?

It's one thing for him to find my bank account.

that he was only crazy.

I have to go to the police... That was my first thought.

But even though this man was a madman, he was a madman with a lot of money.

He wants me to rewrite my novel for his own satisfaction.

How did I like it when he sent me a letter like that? It's actually quite good for someone like me who's in debt.

Note: Writing doesn't pay.

When I think about it, a thousand dollars a chapter was pretty good.

I think I should start over.

I got a confirmation code on my phone.

[Don't you want to rewrite the novel?]

[Yes]/[no]

After I clicked on the button in the message, one more text appeared and then my whole world went black.

[Thank you. Let's write the best story together!]

.

.

I was sitting in my chair, shaking my knee up and down.

Was this the cause of my condition?

As I stared blankly at the mirror in front of me, many questions popped into my head.

Vayne Salas?

Who was he?

I remembered my name...hmm? .... I didn't remember my name.

Sitting on the bed, a blank expression appeared on his face as he stared blankly at the window to my left.

Shiny black hair

Pale white skin and emaciated body

Two red eyes...

It was not my face reflected in the color of the window, it was a completely unknown face.

He had quite attractive features, but not a face that would make people shout 'He's so handsome!

Aside from the eyes, it was a pretty average face. A person you would forget if you didn't see him for a few days.

My body movements...,

this new body was quite lean, it had some work, but it definitely needed a bit more muscle. I felt sorry for myself, looking like I was starving.

But this was definitely not my body...

But I can't deny that I was in complete control of the person looking at the reflection in the mirror, and when I touched my face to his, the reflection in the window showed the young man touching the face of the reflection in the mirror.

I think I'm having a dream. I closed my eyes and gave my arm a little pinch with my hand.

"Aghhh."

It hurt... Okay, this should work. When I opened my eyes, this was definitely not the image I was expecting.

So it didn't work today either. Even though I had tried this almost every day, I was stuck here.

I didn't pay much attention to it anymore and started walking around the room.

"Okay, that's enough."

As I walked, a strange sensation tickled my brain as I felt a discontinuity between my movements.

It felt as if there was a time lag in my movements. But as I gradually moved more and more, the time lag gradually disappeared.

Was it because I was too weak?

I don't know what it was, but maybe it was because my soul was still not used to this new body?

Who knows.

I sat on the regular edge of the bed and sighed deeply.

"ahh..."

I found myself in an ordinary house.

I started to examine the inside of the room I was in. It looked like a cheap hotel for 100 TL per day, the shabby furniture had never been cleaned.

The room was furnished with the basics: a relatively clean white bed, a large old wooden table, a long wardrobe and a small bathroom.

- Man, you... what a life you've lived.

Pitying the owner of the old body, I started to examine the books scattered on the table. The books with blue and yellow embroidery on them looked thick. I started to examine the books I picked up from the table one by one.

*The arts of learning mana. By Mr. Gluenne... Contents: What is mana. How to use mana. The easiest spells for wizards with the flame ability. The easiest spells for wizards with the Water trait....

I read the contents of the book and put it down slowly on the table. Your eyes shifted to the other books.

*Basic Sword skills. The most common sword techniques by: Emma Goldier. The most common problems of new and old styles. So sword-handling techniques for beginners.

*Basic Monster information: Council-approved blind spots on monsters and ways to stop them.

*Dungeon skill book: Basic dungeon structure, rules that should and should never be done in dungeons.

These were things that I had only mentioned in two or three words in the novel I had written, and now I was worried to see that each of them had grown to the size of a book. As my anxiety grew, I began to question reality.

This was no longer my world and I was no longer me, which may sound philosophical, but it wasn't. This was literally the situation. I had become an extra in my novel. I wasn't just anybody, I had to be one of the main antagonists in the novel.

Vayne Salas.

Vayne now lived in an ordinary apartment, but he had no parents or relatives. What I knew about Vayne was that he was a gifted boy who had been in one of the orphanage dormitories. When his affinity for mana was discovered, he was taken in by the Council and enrolled in a middle school wizarding class. Now he was a sorcerer enrolled in the Dome.

Of course I didn't know why.

I didn't even remember taking these traits into account when I designed the character. I searched for myself on the internet, but I couldn't find any results. Likewise, even his old school records were not clear.

It was very likely that I had grown up an orphan, because too many children in this world had lost their mothers or fathers due to the untimely opening of dungeons. The dungeons were a place where monsters came to our world and attacked the environment unconsciously. It was absolutely unnatural. Some dungeons would reveal themselves in their formative stages and the wizards of this world would enter the dungeons and forcibly close them. But in other cases, dungeons would appear out of nowhere and destroy everything in their path.

As I recall, at the age of 9, Vayne was accepted into the Military Mage Academy, which trained the elite to fight against monsters and demons, and he had a pretty good manipulation of mana for his age. Even though he had not yet awakened, his mana sensitivity must have been remarkable.

But the question is, what skills did Vayne have to pass the entrance exam?

When I wrote my novel, I wrote him as a character who hid his power and discovered it later.

I turned my palm upwards and held it in the air.

Flames.

Vayne's main ability was bright red flames that could make even mana vanish. Towards the middle of the novel, he discovers or begins to use it.

Later on, while making a deal with demons for his soul, he is caught by the main character and Arthur, with Seth's help, manages to stop Vayne.

At the time, even though she gave the main characters a hard time, I didn't think it was because of Vayne's sheer power. After all, Lilith was a powerful demon and making a deal with her would increase everyone's power.

In the end, I didn't know anything else.
