Chapter 3 [Journey to the dome]

This crazy body swap was completely illogical!
I went to bed as usual, but when I woke up I found myself in the Wizard Academy on the last day of the semester.
I had 2 suspicions. First, that I was being pranked, but then I quickly dismissed it, not even bothering to explain why.
Secondly, I was still dreaming, but naturally I dismissed it because the thought of being in a dream would never occur to the dreamer. Of course, I had tried all sorts of painful sequences before this, and even if I tried all sorts of ways to torture myself, this nightmare would not end.
More importantly, no dream could have continued so clearly for exactly 2 weeks.
Should I have gone into a coma or something?
I spent the last 2 weeks wondering if the world inside the novel should be seen as my new reality.
Ding Ding
I lay on the bed and stared blankly at the ceiling until my smartphone rang. I looked at the time and saw that it was time to go to school.
"Why do I have to go to school?"
I woke up extremely drowsy, my body completely unprepared for what was about to happen next.
The semester results of the Dome Academy had taken place 13 days ago.
All Dome students got two weeks of vacation. So I had wasted two weeks of my time, completely empty.
Unfortunately, this damn Vayne Salas guy was a student of the wizardry class.
Now a new school year would be my blessing. I had to go to the Dome without knowing anything about wizardry. Knowing what happened in the novel, a novice like me could not survive there.
"Ah... how frustrating."
I've done almost nothing for the last 2 weeks. I've been spending most of my time online, eating when I'm hungry, going online to find solutions, laughing at the surprisingly funny political programs on TV. Eating some more food... It was hard to get used to this place that was so socially different from where I came from, but it would be a lie to say that I didn't enjoy it at the same time.
Anyway, I'm not going to talk about this anymore.
Because the past 2 weeks were very different from the life of a main character.
The only noteworthy event was going to the Dome to watch Seth and Arthur receive their awards.
2 days ago for the 3-hour Dome Entrance Ceremony.
As I tapped my hand hard on my forehead I had to think deeply about what I was going to do.
1. I had to go to the Dome. Because I had been personally invited and I was probably bound by a contract.
2. I didn't want to go to the Dome, because the events in Class 1 were very troubling and challenging even for the main characters. Also, they were all teenagers and there was no progress in terms of personal development.
3. If I went to the Dome, I had to stay there, which was the most dangerous place for someone like me who was not from this world.
And 4. It was a repeat of the rest of the points.
I had no choice because I would be expelled if I didn't participate.
"ahhh I have to pack..."
I couldn't figure out who put me here, for what purpose, with what power. After 2 weeks of living idle, I reluctantly accepted my fate. Apparently I was going to live like this for a while, so I could make a living.
In the novel you wrote, being a wizard was everyone's dream job.
Things could get dangerous halfway through because of the bad guys, but I had to survive until then. I was sure I would find something when the time came.
07:33
School would start in 57 minutes. I stood up and made my way to the bathroom.
I was greeted by the unfamiliar figure with black hair....
"I need to get used to this."
I mumbled involuntarily and washed my face. I could feel my skin and hair, which made everything even more eerie.
After washing, I put on the dome uniform I had bought for the first semester. Other than that, I had no other luggage. Anyone who saw this uniform would no doubt envy me, but I had no idea what I was doing.
My face was that of a 16-17 year old boy and how was I going to figure out anything about being a student at the Dome?
When I opened the door, I looked at the apartment I had been living in for the last two weeks, an apartment I had barely found thanks to the address on my student card.
In this short time I had become attached and I felt I was going to miss it.
"Haaah. "
I stepped out of my comfortable apartment into a dark and alien world.
I started walking down from the third floor of the apartment building.
The door of the house opened onto a small street.
I was trying to figure out where I was in the city of Aston, it's been a while since I've been here ;)
I started walking until I reached a big street.
Meanwhile, I was thinking about the way this world works. The world was in a very troubled environment and was dealing with its own problems. According to what I wrote, the story started like this.
After the first catastrophe that happened about 500 years ago, the map of the world here was completely changed. Before the Earth, there was a huge body of water with separate continents like Africa, North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Oceania, but after the first cataclysm, all the continents merged into one big continent. Just as millions of years ago they had separated from the continent of Pancea, so now they were united. It was like returning to the early days of the world. The calendars had been revised for the beginning of the apocalypse. There was great chaos all over the world.
Then the second catastrophe happened and portals opened from other realms. At first everything was chaotic and confusing.
It was a period of wars and massacres, and although the massacres were one-sided, the world became smaller and smaller until the balance of power was fixed at 2/8 elves, 2/8 orcs, 2/8 dwarves and 2/8 humans. And this land was given to them because of the elves' pity for humans.
At present, humanity inhabited the eastern side of the new found continent, where Asia used to be.
The alien races from other worlds were not the only problem.
After the second catastrophe, caused by the sudden explosion of mana from other worlds, the animals also started to go crazy.
At first they seemed to have completely lost their minds, but after a few days changes began to take place in them.
The most noticeable difference was their crazy growth in size and their extreme bloodlust.
What could have been your cute little dog an hour ago turned into a demonic beast that would devour you in a few minutes.
Fortunately, they had not acquired any troops, so they were not a threat if left alone. Especially the firearms that humans already had were effective against these monsters.
At the end of the day.
Nearly 500 years have passed. Humans have mended their relations with other races to some extent and are beginning to understand the mana.
I looked up and stared up at the skyscrapers that cut through the sky.
This was the city of Astakhan, the center of humanity. The last barrier protecting humanity from any external threat.
It seemed more garish to call it that.
The most secure location available and the site of the Dome. The most superior training academy known to mankind was founded with the sole purpose of creating the ultimate heroes to lead the mission to take back Earth.
Being a student at the Dome had many privileges, and one of them was that you could access all public transportation for free, as I was doing right now.
I arrived at the bus stop.
"Here's my card."
I handed my student card to the woman at the ticket office and looked at the map of the station.
"Are you a student from the Dome?"
Surprised by my card, the ticket woman sat up straight and looked at me intently.
"Yes."
"Where would you like to go?
"To the Dome, please."
Looking up and down, the ticket lady suddenly smiled at me and handed me a ticket with my student card.
"I see, have a good trip, Mr. Wizard!"
"Thank you."
