Chereads / In My Book, I Become A Villian / Chapter 9 - chapter:9 Arthur White

Chapter 9 - chapter:9 Arthur White

When I arrived at the training ground, I couldn't help being impressed by the facility once again.

How much did they spend on this?

I couldn't even fathom how much money was spent to create this facility. The amount of money needed to create such an environment would be well over a few million U.

The funding that went into the Dome was enormous.

In retrospect, it was somewhat understandable why they had invested so much in this facility. Although young, they were all future ship masts that would help protect humanity from demonic invasion. Why shouldn't humanity invest in them, especially since the other races were still not on good terms with humans, and in such an environment, all humans could do was to maximize themselves. And for this they spared no expense.

They needed such a facility if they wanted to maximize their rate of progress and be able to compete with other races.

After leaving the cafeteria, it was around 19:00 and the facility was mostly empty.

But just because the facility was empty didn't mean it would always be empty. In the future, there will be many more people using the training facility. As today was the second day, there was hardly anyone in the facility. Most of them were hanging out with new friends they made today or were too tired to train.

Because of my relatively low ranking, not many people wanted to associate with me, so I had nothing better to do than train.

I was never sad about it, in fact, being invisible and considered useless has worked for me so far.

I have no intention of finding out the hard way who will be on my side.

I had to be strong enough to survive and not get killed by the main character. Until then, the Dome card was just a shell for me.

Clang! -Clang! -Clang!

As I stretched, I could hear the sound of metal on metal in the corner of the room, the rustle of the sword echoing throughout the area. At last I met him, I thought, and a name slipped out of my mouth in the slight silence.

"Arthur white."

Chapter 9

Arthur white.... The main character of the story.

He was already training hard. Even though he had his own private court, Arthur was not used to such things. Even though all these privileges were given to him because he was ranked 1st, in the first part of the novel Arthur was always training with the other students. But just seeing his work ethic left me speechless. When I saw the glistening sweat pouring down his forehead, I knew he had been here for a long time.

It wasn't easy being the main character, after all. With a deep sigh, I grabbed the weights from the floor and started working out alongside him. I was lifting the weights and watching Arthur at the same time.

He had refined swordsmanship but still lacked experience. I noticed that his body had difficulty following where his eyes were looking as he trained, for he had not yet begun to see his dreams. It was too early for his awakening. Although he had power, Arthur had the potential to achieve much more. As a (enhancer) he was a genius at mana mastery.

He missed one blow. Oops, he almost saved the second one. Then the third....

His sword was not smooth at the beginning of the novel. Even I could recognize this with untrained eyes, how could he not.

When I couldn't take it anymore.

- Hey, you!

I called out.

The training ground was empty, so my voice echoed. This made the possible situation even more awkward.

"Is it me?"

"Is there someone else?"

The boy was waiting like a blowfish, staring at me blankly. His face was full of confusion.

"You're doing that move wrong, bro.... "

"What?"

"Sorry, that's a different line. Well.... I think you should stop practicing the sword and start practicing the lower body, your body doesn't move like in your mind. There's a way to solve this, get into the gravity apparatus and start holding your sword with your left hand too. Also, working too hard doesn't always work, sometimes you need to clear your head."

After I said this, Arthur continued to look at me as if he didn't understand. I didn't expect him to take what I said seriously because of my low rank, or maybe he was too focused to even realize what he was doing.

"..."

"Anyway, good work."

I said and I continued my work a little further away from there.

I wanted to have a good relationship with the main character, but I couldn't force him if he didn't want to do it, because my destiny as Vayne Salas was to be killed by the main character himself.

Ester checked the time on her tablet as she walked down the corridor.

23:40!

She had just come from a meeting and was quite tired. Thinking back to the meeting she had just attended, Ester couldn't help cursing the old foxes for constantly wasting her time with their pointless discussions.

"Seriously .... All those idiots talk about is this nonsense."

Most of the meeting time was spent discussing budget allocations, and which budget should be increased and which should be decreased. The council was probably putting pressure on spending.

After an hour of pointless discussion, Ester could take no more and excused herself. As she walked away, she glanced briefly at the window that looked directly onto the training ground. The lights were on and her students were working below.

The first thing that caught her eye was the figure of a handsome boy fighting gracefully with one of the training dolls.

Dark-haired and relatively large for his age, he was swinging his sword with graceful movements.

It was a truly mesmerizing sight.

Even Esther was admiring the boy in her field of vision. She saw her reflection in the mirror and felt her lips curl upwards slightly.

"How interesting."

He couldn't explain why, but every now and then he was mesmerized by the boy's swordplay.

He danced like a ballerina.

From whom had she learned these moves?

From the first moment he saw him, he took a keen interest in him. At a glance he could tell that he was going to expand his business in the future.

Maybe even surpassing wizards from other races....

He could not continue his thoughts. .

At the academy, all they talked about was one's lineage. And they were not wrong. Since the predisposition to mana was passed on through one's genes, familial predisposition was important. If a person's family was of a high rank, their children had to be of the same rank. For this reason, children would start their education at the age of 5 or even 4.

But for Esther it was a little different.

She had always believed that hard work led to success.

So it was her job to watch children like Arthur show their talents and make sure they worked hard.

Ester swiped the card that led to the training facility and went inside.

It was only after she entered the training facility that she realized that another student was also working.

At first she was very happy.

Was she a teacher who didn't like it when her students worked hard?

But when he saw his strange movements, he remembered the boy he had seen yesterday at training.

Someone who had learned swordsmanship for years and then suddenly wanted to use a gun... and now he was lifting weights...

Shaking his head, he walked over to where Arthur was.

"I must say, whenever I see your swordsmanship I am mesmerized."

Surprised, Arthur stopped what he was doing and looked at the enchanting figure walking gracefully towards him.

"Miss Ester. Why.... Here..."

"Why can't I be here?"

She tilted her head to the side and looked mockingly at Arthur, who was sweating from head to toe.

"It's good that you're practicing against puppets, but you should stop for now."

"Excuse me?"

Looking at Esther in surprise, Arthur lowered his sword.

"I've observed that your body has difficulty following where your eyes are looking, take a look at this."

Madame showed Arthur the tablet in her hand.

Using her tablet, she quickly tapped the practice dummy in front of her, and instantly several red dots appeared on the holographic image and numbers appeared on them.

"Not only are these dummies extremely durable, but they also have the latest technology built into them. They can measure the amount of power you expend, how fast your blows are and how accurate they are."

Pointing directly at the numbers on the red dots, Esther looked at Arthur.

"See this, this number tells you how accurate your blows are. Right now, your highest number is 85%. Even though the 15% difference you missed is small, that difference determines whether or not you can kill your enemy."

Swiping to the right, a small detailed table appeared in front of Arthur.

In front of him were several numbers showing how much force he used when he attacked the puppet and how consistent he was each time.

"Using state-of-the-art eye-tracking software, we can directly predict where you're going to hit. Not only does it take into account your line of sight, but it also reads your body language, such as which way your body is facing. the angle at which you swing, and many other important factors that can accurately determine where you will hit. The numbers that are now displayed measure the accuracy of your swings, taking into account all these factors mentioned earlier."

After looking at the tablet, Arthur let out a deep breath.

"So what am I supposed to do?"

"What do you need to do? It's actually not that difficult."

He pointed to the Gravity room on the other side of the training facility.

"You should try using the gravity chamber to help your body keep up with your brain."

"Got it!"

Arthur wiped the sweat from his brow, thanked Ester for her advice and quickly made his way to the gravity chamber.

Seeing how determined Arthur was, Ester couldn't help but smile in satisfaction.

"He seems like a good boy..."

"Now it's the problem child's turn"
