Chapter 14 - CH14: Another Incident

Slowly, Ken had stepped into the sun, but unlike what he was expecting, nothing had happened. He thought because he was a vampire, he would be affected by the sunlight, but it seemed like he wasn't.

This was then attributed to the fact that it might be because of his celestial origin. So far, a lot of limitations he expected to have happened to him as a vampire hadn't been happening. Like being unable to eat human foods except for blood, his weakness to silvery objects, none of those things were happening to him.

And now, the sun also wasn't affecting him? This was so great to him. He couldn't imagine staying indoor for the whole day just because he doesn't want to be affected by the shining sunlight.

Seeing how he wasn't affected at all, he could go anywhere without being worried about the sun.

However, this manifestation had shocked a certain person. And that was the vampire who was spying on him.

"How… how?" He blurted out. "Is he an original? But how come he smells so different. I thought he was a turned vampire?"

The sudden change of things had surprised the vampire greatly and he couldn't help but wonder who exactly Ken was.

"I have to meet him. I need to know who he is?" He said, before disappearing into the shadows.

Ken and his two friends were currently on their way to the canteen, but along the way, they had spotted someone. And it was Scott that first noticed.

"Guys, isn't that Brandon?" He asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

The two looked towards the direction of where he was pointing, and could see that it was indeed Brandon. He was carrying a basket, while the rest of his cohorts were carrying a broom and a packer.

"Wait, did he ended up in the same academy as us?" Travis asked, though the answer was already obvious. Seeing Brandon here means he was also admitted into the academy.

"But why didn't we see him class?" Scott asked.

"I believe what he's doing must be the reason why he couldn't attend today's class." Ken replied, talking about the waste bin and sanitation materials they all had with them.

The two students nodded, realising what he said to be true. It seemed like they did something wrong and got punished for it.

"Serves them right." Scott said, scoffing at them.

At that moment, a certain memory had flashed in Ken's mind, causing him to halt in his movements for a while. It was the memory of when Brandon and his cohorts had ganged up against him in the canteen.

He remembered how he had dealt with two of his members; one in which his hands had gotten twisted. All of this had happened, and Ken was just remembering it. This was probably because of the hunger that enveloped his mind at that time.

"I couldn't believe that happened." Ken said.

His two friends noticing that he hadn't been following them quickly ran towards him, wondering why he had stopped moving.

"Are you okay?" They asked.

Turning towards them with a smile, Ken replied; "Guys you won't believe this."

He explained how Brandon and his men had came to the canteen yesterday to challenge him. But just as they were busy disturbing him, a man appearing to be the chef had came out, telling his workers to take pictures of all of them. He got them punished for fighting in the canteen, and also for destroying its properties.

"And that is why Brandon is here taking disciplinary actions with his cohorts." Ken explained.

The two friends looked at Ken before bursting into laughter, "What? So you mean you encountered Brandon yesterday? How come you didn't tell us sooner?" Scott asked.

"That was because I didn't remember… you guys can't understand, but I'm saying the honest truth." Ken tried to explain, but he knew it sounded weird, based on the fact that he just remembered now.

"Dude, I know you're trying to be funny, but this is the wildest shit I've ever heard today." Travis said. "You what? Didn't you sleep all through yesterday? Come on, this guy needs some food."

They both dragged Ken as they pulled him inside the cafeteria. Ken had given up, he knew none of them believed him since they both found him sleeping all through yesterday.

It was understandable for them not to believe him. He wasn't even sure if his memories this time were true. It was just like when he had went to the park this morning.

Their foods were served, and the trio had sat around a table to eat. The cafeteria was still occupied with their fellow students, and some had even pointed at Ken when they saw him.

Back when Angela had called for a certain, some of the students had waited to see who it was, and they had seen Ken walk into her office. So they instantly recognised him when he showed up in the canteen.

"Is it only me? But I feel like those guys behind us are staring our way?" Scott said, peeping at the group of boys seated at the table behind theirs.

"Not just them, most of the students here are staring at us." Travis added.

But Ken, whose gaze were fixed on his meal alone, casually waved it off. "We didn't do anything wrong, so there's no need to panic."

As soon as Ken said this, he started digging into his meal. His two friends seeing this had also started eating. Ken didn't have the luxury to be bothered by everyone's attention on him. Why would he? when his stomach has been screaming all day for a nice, hot meal.

Thanks to his celestial heritage, he could eat like every other human. It would've been painful if his meal was limited only to blood. His favourite thing was eating, how would he have coped if it were to drink blood? Not that he could stand the sight of it.

For this great opportunity, he won't waste a single bit of the meal. So he grabbed his spoon and started eating, seemingly ignoring the stares from everyone around him.

At that moment, a specific person had stood from their seat as they made their way towards Ken's table. It was one of the boys sitting behind their table. The one Scott noticed to have been mostly staring their way since they got here.

"You! What did you went to do at Angela's office?" The boy said, but Ken had outright ignored him, causing the fellow to carry the tray of food before him and throw it to the ground.

This had caused a reaction from Ken as he glared at the person who had done this, his eyes glowing red and his fist tensing with anger.

"Excuse you?" Ken growled.
