After leaving the canteen, Ken had one more place to visit before resuming back to his dorm. So he told his two friends to go on without him. They left, but not without asking where he was going to.
He came up with an excuse of heading to the administration building to call Leah and his sister, since normal mobile phones weren't allowed in the academy until the student was in level three.
After separating from them, he then went towards the library which wasn't far from where the admin building was, but that isn't where he was going. At the back of the library was another building which had the words; Training Hall, inscribed on its walls.
"I guess this is the place she told me about." Ken said as he walked towards the entrance.
On the door was a keypad lock. Then, dipping his hands into his pocket, he brought out a paper containing the door code to the lock.
After inputting the door code, a single beep was heard, signifying that it was a success, and the door had slid open. Entering the hall, he immediately locked the door behind.
Then looking at where he had just entered, he could see how large and grand the hall was, it was twice the size of the building they had used for their class today. But that wasn't the only thing.
Several objects, weapons and humanoid toys had been placed in the hall to enhance the training of an individual. The weapons consists of swords, bows and arrows, spear and many others.
But above all was the humanoid objects that had been placed everywhere in the hall for them to attack. With this, Ken could practice his celestial skills and maybe some of his vampiric powers.
Sitting on one of the few seats closest to him, he brought out the book given to him by Angela and started reading. The book was mainly about demigods and what their powers are.
The first page talked about the list of skills a Demigod could possess. They were about twenty in numbers, but Ken had only received two, which means he still had a long way to go.
The next page then went on to describe what each skills could do. The first skill - Mana ball, was the basic of all skills. It is the first skill a demigod could ever have.
However, the mana ball consists of two types; a visible mana ball and an invisible mana ball. The visible mana ball consists of a white glowing energy, while the invisible mana ball, just as its name implies, consists of an invisible, transparent ball of energy.
When Ken activated his mana ball skill, the skill had came out as a visible white ball, a similar appearance to Angela's mana ball, so he thought this was how every mana ball look like. But this book had said otherwise, claiming for there to be another type.
He read further as he wondered how it was possible to different between both balls when activating it. Then the book stated that it was possible as long as they could picture the image of the mana ball when activating.
"The basis of a skill depends on the thoughts of the user. They could modify the skill to be in any shape, colour or size they want, as long as they have enough mana to back it up." Ken read.
He moved on to the next skill; Mana Punch. For this skill, the hands will be encased in mana, and when punching, with and without touching the person's body, they would be equally affected, as the energy within them will be disrupted. This is all about the mana punch.
Ken then started skimming through the pages of the book, the rest of the eighteen skills had caught his eyes. They seemed great and nice and he couldn't wait to unlock them.
After reading about the skills, he moved on to another part where it talked about meditation. It described meditation as a way of gathering celestial energy, or preferably mana, from the surroundings.
Once a celestial is meditating, they deemed to enter a vulnerable state. But to prevent this from happening, a barrier of energy will surround the body, preventing it from being harmed by the outside forces.
This barrier tends to get stronger as the celestial's mana increases. So, the greater the amount of mana, the stronger the meditation barrier becomes.
If mana was used to attack a celestial during meditation, the energy will be absorbed and taken in by the celestial's body.
Ken compared this part of the book to what Scott had told him when he was busy meditating. How Angela had channeled her energy into his body, but the hairs of her body had suddenly stood up as she did that.
Which means, her mana must have been taken from her and added to his own. This explains the 200 points of mana he received after completing his daily quest.
But there was another thing that was bothering Ken, and that was if he could meditate more than one time in a day. When he first meditated, the duration had been ten minutes, he was hoping he could meditate for a longer duration than that.
Also, there was another thing he wanted to check during his meditation. So he instantly sat on the ground, cross-legged with his arms spread sideways. Then he closed his eyes.
As usual the eerie glow of the system had appeared above his face.
[You are in a meditative pose]
[Meditation will now begin… 2/2]
[Duration is 10 minutes. Level up to increase the duration and rate of meditation per day]
So it meant he could only meditate twice in a day, both with a ten minutes duration. In the book, it hadn't stated anything about time or duration, it only shared the definition and usefulness of meditation.
Once again, he appeared in the white empty room. He was expecting to hear the female voice he heard from before, but unfortunately, he hadn't heard a single thing.
Which means he needed to get stronger to hear her voice again. Then maybe she'll be able to give a reply as to who she was.
"Just give me time, and I'll find out who you are." Ken said.
