"Excuse you?" Ken said.
His eyes had a glint of red, as he stared at the student. This had sent a shiver running down the boy's spine, causing him to stumble backwards out of fear.
"What is going on here?!" Once again, the chef had appeared from the kitchen, his towering figure looming above everyone's head.
This time he had arrived sooner before anything bad could have happened. He could see a student standing close to another student, - a person he recognised almost instantly.
However, his gaze fell on the tray of food thrown to the ground, and the mess that had been made by this. He noticed the tray to have belonged to Ken, and he suspected the student standing close to him to have been the one behind it. But he still needed to know why that had happened before giving his judgement.
"Will someone explain to me, what just happened now?!" The chef demanded.
Some of the students closest to him had explained how Ken was eating all on his own until the other student came and threw his food to the ground.
The Chef's gaze shifted to the student whose name he learnt to be Fred, "What did you do that for?" He asked but Fred couldn't reply a thing.
Then he looked around, his gaze darting everywhere. Everyone was wondering what was going to happen next and that was when the Chef started talking.
"Didn't you guys read the rules? It's written all over the table for f*ck's sake! No fighting in my canteen! Anyone that goes against that rule will be severely punished. You'll even get a heavier punishment if you destroy any of the canteen's property, including a spoon."
Then shifting his gaze back to Fred, he grabbed him by the arms. "Boy, you're in serious trouble." He said as he pulled him out of the canteen, while everyone could only watch and stare, curious about Fred's fate.
"Damn, that was wild." Travis said, chuckling in excitement. "I can feel the anger in that man's voice."
"Yeah, and that same man is coming back in." Scott announced.
The Chef had came back in as he ordered his workers to clean off the mess made to the canteen, he also ordered for another tray of food to be served to Ken. Then he went towards Ken's table.
"It's you again, isn't it?" The chef said, glancing at Ken. "Yesterday, the Brandon guy. Now, here's another one today."
This revelation had caused both Scott's and Travis's eyes to widen out in surprise.
Ken had chuckled out nervously as the memory of the man advising him yesterday had appeared in his mind, this confirmed that what he saw was indeed real. Now the same man was here in front of him, having recognising him since that yesterday.
"You remembered my face?" Ken asked, surprisingly.
"Yeah, you seem to have a recognisable face, so it was easy to remember your face." The chef said. "And you also seem to attract troubles everywhere you go. But I'd advice you real quick. Ensure you get stronger, become so strong that no one else will be able to mess with you."
This was the second time Ken will be hearing this today, First was the strange voice, the second was the Chef. He nodded to this and thanked the Chef for his caring words.
With that said, a tray of food had been brought by one of the workers, while the Chef had immediately went back to his usual place in the kitchen.
Once the worker had left, both Scott and Travis had grabbed Ken by the hands, their eyes gleaming with surprise. "Dude, so you did came to the canteen yesterday, how come we didn't know? We thought you were sleeping?"
"I did came, but I went early. And that was when Brandon had came to meet me at the canteen, but the chef here had stopped him from causing any harm to me." Ken revealed.
"Then why didn't you tell us?" Scott asked.
"I wanted to tell you, but we haven't had enough time to talk about it. You know, class was this morning, and even when I told you about it after class, you didn't believe me."
"That was because you said it at the wrong time, if it had been before we saw Brandon, then we would've believed you." Scott said.
"Okay, that's alright!" Travis said. "What I'm concerned about right now is that tray of food in front of Ken. There's no way he's eating all of that alone, is he?"
"No way." Scott said, cracking his knuckles. The two of them then glanced at Ken who seem to have started eating, trying to finish the food before the two of them would act. "Get him!"
The two had moved over to where Ken was, as they carried the tray away from him and walked back to their seats.
"You guys are late." Ken chuckled, chewing a large piece of meat in his mouth. "I ate all the meat."
The two students looked at the set of bowls, no meat was found in it.
"You crazy brat!" Travis said, glaring at Ken who wouldn't stop laughing.
"You're definitely going to pay for this. Your lunch and dinner will be used as replacements." Scott said, and all three had started laughing.
Their actions hadn't gone unnoticed by the others who were in the restaurant, they couldn't help but feel jealous about them. The way they acted and laughed together, it made them wished they had the same type of friends.
…
At the time when Fred was pulled out of the restaurant by the chef, he had been taken to join the group of troublemakers; Brandon and the rest, who were given instructions to pick up every loiter in the surroundings.
He was told to join them for today and tomorrow, while till the end of this week, he would not be allowed inside the canteen, same as Brandon's group too. But they could buy snacks and other stuffs from the convenience store if they have money to spend.
Fred stood before Brandon and his group, his hands shivering slightly. Then Brandon, noticing this had pulled him closer, "It's okay, we're good guys. Now tell me, what led to your punishment?" He asked.
