As Ken walked towards the front, Scott separated from him, choosing to wait outside with Travis. Once the hall emptied, Angela opened a door within the hall and gestured for Ken to enter. He stepped inside, and the door closed behind him.
This was Angela's private office where she usually stays after her classes had end. The room was filled with photos of her alongside various students.
She sat on her chair while Ken sat opposite her, the only thing standing between them was a large desk which was cluttered with several books and newspapers.
"So you're Ken?" She Angela asked, her eyes piercing.
Ken nodded, but the next few minutes had been ensued with nothing but silence. Frustrated, Ken had decided to speak and break off the silence. "Can I ask why you have requested to see me?"
"Did they stop teaching manners? I expected a proper greeting from a junior celestial! Gosh, I can't believe this." Angela's brows furrowed, her palm resting above her face in frustration.
Ken's confusion deepened. "A junior celestial? What is that?" He asked, causing Angela to raise her eyes to glance at him.
Angela's eyes widened in disbelief. "Wait, you don't know what a celestial is?"
"A celestial? Is it like a god?" Ken said, remembering that the system had showed him something similar recently. But what was mentioned was a celestial space, and from what he knew, a celestial can also be called a god.
But something had caught Ken's attention as Angela mentioned the word celestial. If she was talking about gods, then does it mean she is a god as well?
Is this the reason why she had called him to her office? Did she sensed something in him that revealed that he was also a celestial? But what was the greeting thing all about. Was he meant to bow or kneel before her?
Angela stood from her seat, her gaze furrowing angrily at Ken. "Who are you?" She demanded, her voice palpable. "How could you not know about the celestials? Oh, you must be the fake ones they informed us about. Then it will be right if I just get rid of you right here and now."
On her right hand, a white ball had formed, and it seemed to be at the same size as that of a football. Ken gulped down as he felt the energy radiating from it.
[Warning! You are being threatened!]
[Survive at all cost!]
Even without the system informing him, he could tell instantly that he was about to be attacked by this strange woman. But it doesn't make sense why she was acting this way. Why would she attack her own student. She won't even let him talk.
"Wait! Let me explain." Ken said, trying to defuse the situation. "I'm not what you think I am."
But Angela's anger intensified. "That's the point, who exactly are you?!" She yelled, swinging the ball of energy at him.
Luckily for his great speed, he managed to dodge just in time to avoid the ball from having impact on him. But the walls of the room hadn't been so lucky as a large hole had appeared on it.
Fortunately, he managed to survive that, or It would have been him with a hole on his body. Before he knew it, another energy ball had been formed by Angela. Only this time, it had appeared in both of her hands.
Ken had no other choice, he had to defend himself, so he clicked on a certain skill on the system. Then on his right hand, an invisible energy had gathered into a ball, its presence becoming visible as it turned into a shade of white.
Though, it wasn't up to the size of what was in Angela's hand, it was still the same type of attack formed on her hands. The same ball-like attack, with a white glow of energy surrounding it.
[A mana ball has been formed]
[Warning! You are not strong enough to beat your current opponent, consider escaping. One blast towards the door on your left will guarantee your safe escape!]
Ken was wondering if he should take the system's advice and escape, but then what happens? If he manages to escape her office, What gives him the assurance that she won't catch up with him.
And let's say he successfully escaped and reported to one of the teachers, what makes him think they would believe his words? Angela here is a teacher at the academy, would they rather believe him or a fellow teacher who have been working with them for a while.
Still, he couldn't understand why Angela had decided to attack him. However, at that moment, the mana balls in her hands started dissipating into nothing but dust.
Angela's eyes then locked onto his, "So you're real afterall." She said, a hint of surprise in her voice.
"Huh?" Ken replied, confusion etched on his face.
"Only a celestial can produce a mana ball," She explained. "Given its small size, I assume you've just came of age, and probably just discovered your powers. Besides, there's another reason why I believed you are real."
"What is it?" Ken asked, his curiousity replacing caution.
Angela sat back down, her expression softening. "First, cancel your attack; let's talk. I promise I won't attack you." But Ken hesitated, unsure whether to trust her, as he didn't know what she might be planning.
Perhaps this was her way of making him lose his guard so she could lunge a surprise attack on him. If not for his speed, and quick dodging, the first attack would have reached him, and maybe half of his health would have been gone down by now.
"I know you're wary of me because of the attack. Sorry about that. But listen, I did that to confirm if you were real or not."
"So killing me is the right option? What if I hadn't dodge?" Ken replied, a little bit annoyance in his tone.
"Once again, I'm sorry about that. But I know you can't die even if four of those mana balls managed to hit you. I had to do this to see if you were real, or a fake sent by those vampires."
"Vampires?" Ken repeated, intrigued.
"They're attempting to create an army of celestials," Angela explained. "But their creations can't use mana like true celestials; instead, they wield sapphire swords. I haven't seen them before, but your oblivious actions made me think you were one of them."
"Me? Vampires are my biggest enemy if you ask me." Ken said, as he canceled the mana ball skill and took a seat opposite Angela, but was still on high alert incase anything was to happen next.
Angela then leaned forward with an intensified gaze. "So tell me, how is it that a celestial like you doesn't know they're a celestial?"
