Chapter 4 - Rookie.

It was noon as the weather was much warmer by the harbour just outside of Seoul, full of freight containers of different colours stacked at different heights. On top of the low containers, jumping from one to another were two men in black suits. The one in front was the boss of a prominent gang that dealt in human trafficking and drug smuggling businesses. The one behind was his subordinate that was pursuing after him along with the police van blaring with sirens below them.

Today they were supposed to meet with their coke suppliers, but fell into a sting operation by the police who arrested most of them. As they ran and jumped, the gap between them was getting shorter and shorter as the gang leader was getting tired as he turned around quickly to see his subordinate dashing towards him at full speed.

"Fuck, does he have infinite stamina or something!" He yelled, looking forward to the last few containers, noting that his escape was about to end as there would surely be police ready to intercept him the moment he jumped down. He quickly made a choice and slowed down before the last few containers, turning to face his subordinate who was already a container across from him. Both were panting heavily as they were out of breath, staring at each other in anticipation of one another's actions.

The subordinate who was dressed in black as well was a bit taller and leaner than him. His long and messy hair went past his broad shoulders and touched his lower back, partially covering his dark brown eyes that were full of alertness. His was handsome in a dis-alarming manner with a defined jawline.

"Dammit… How long?" The gang leader asked, getting no reply from the subordinate who stood up straight while still breathing heavily and easily jumped over the gap with his long legs. The gang leader stepped sideways and quickly reached into his blazer and took out a long sashimi knife from his inner pocket. The knife was wrapped with a white cloth at the hilt to stop his hand from slipping. He drifted the knife into a proper position with his thumb on the butt of it, the sharp edge glistening as the subordinate.

The gang leader sneakily positioned the knife to reflect sunlight into his subordinates eyes which it did, causing him to block the light by shutting his eyes, wasting no time and taking a single thumping step forward and swinging his arm with the tip of the knife moving at a curving angle thrusting straight toward the subordinate who regained his sight in the knick of time as he side-stepped to his left, teetering on the edge of the container behind him. In a follow up attack, the gang leader positioned himself to face the subordinate and sent the knife into a forward slash aimed at his throat. He ducked and leaped under the knife, twisting his body to face the gang leader who was defenceless due to the inertia of his attack. The subordinate drew his arm backwards and let out a heavy right jap into the abdomen of the gang leader, causing him to stumble and almost fall off. He stood straight up as the gang leader barely recovered from the attack and swung the knife into an upward curving slash, nearly missing his chin as leaned backwards and instinctively grip his wrist into a strong and painful twist. He added three heavy punches to his rib cages, causing the knife to fall with a metallic thud on the container as he switched his hand, continuing to twist with his other hand this time. The subordinate performed a forward leg sweep to the gang leader who was distracted by the pain on his twisted wrist, causing him to fall face first onto the container. The subordinate pulled and placed the arm of the gang leader up to his and took out silver handcuffs.

"Dammit, Boem-Soek!" The gang leader yelled as his twisted hand was put into a cuff with his other hand following.

"It's not Boem-Soek. It's Sun-Jae, thug. Ryu Sun-Jae." Said Sun-Jae, the undercover rookie detective in a deep and mocking tone as he made his first arrest.
