Chapter 6 - Footage.

At the police precinct, exiting from police vans with the arrested gang members, Sun-Jae held the gang leader by his cuffed hands as they exited the van. The gang leader did not resist, but he did incessantly complained to the point that Sun-Jae wanted to shut him up with a good hiding.

'Police brutality isn't allowed sadly.' He thought with a sigh.

"Ah! You made a mistake, alright! Boem-Soek, listen to me! This is a mistake! You bastard! You didn't even read my rights to me!" The man complained loudly. Sun-Jae simply twisted his hands against the cuffs, causing him to whimper and stumble.

"You have the right to remain silent. Anything you do or say will be used against you in court. Happy, annoying bastard." Sun-jae said, releasing his grip as the man went quiet in pain. They walked up the steps as Yeon-Hee and Dae-Bom returned from the NFS, entering at the gate.

"What's happening?" Dae-Bom asked, staring at the large group of cuffed men in black being dragged into the station. Yeon-Hee pulled into an empty parking space as they got out and walked towards the entrance, only to stopped by reporters who appeared out of nowhere. They quickly pointed their cameras and mics at them while bombarding non-stop questions about the murder that overlapped with each other.

'I can't have some peace.' Yeon-Hee thought as she ignored them like they never existed with Dae-Bom letting a tired sigh as he followed. They climbed up the stairs where two policemen in uniform came down and pushed the reporters back as Yeon-Hee entered the station. She stopped and looked at the policewoman at the reception desk, walking over to her.

"What's happening?" She asked the policewoman who quickly glanced up and recognised Yeon-Hee as they had seen each other a few times.

"Ah, those are the Black Blood gang members. They were arrested at the harbor today by him." The policewoman finished as she pointed at the tall young man with long black hair and in a black suit.

"Ah, him." Dae-Bom said with a sigh, nodding slowly.

"Who is he?" Yeon-Hee asked curiously.

"The new detective of team three, In-Hyuk Sunbae's unit. His name is Ryu… Sun-Jae, I think." He said as they watched an old man walk out of one of the rooms and call out to Sun-Jae. Violent Crimes, Unit three, team leader Kang In-Hyuk was a bit short with gray hair and wrinkles as he was in his late forties. He wore a dull green jacket and black pants and shoes as he arrived next to Sun-Jae.

"You're here," He said as Sun-Jae slightly bowed at him as he patted his shoulder, "Did you get hurt?" He asked.

"No, sir," Sun-jae replied, pointing at the gang members, "We finally got all of them." He added. In-Hyuk nodded as he looked at the criminals that were hard to catch finally being locked up.

"Mmm. After so long, It was only a matter of time," He agreed and then turned to Sun-Jae again while smacking his lips, "You did a good job." He said, before remembering something. "Ah, I almost forgot. Make sure to take some time later and go see your grandfather, he's been worried." He finished, patting Sun-Jae on the arm. Sun-Jae slightly bowed again and looked around as he had nothing to do yet, His and Yeon-Hee's eyes met for a brief moment as she was turning to disappear around the left corner. Sun-Jae was remembering where he had seen the short haired detective with beautiful facial features and serious dark brown eyes, but was distracted by the appearance of his unit members, congratulating him.

Arriving at the end of the hallway at a door written "Violent crimes division." on the glass that had the blinds down, Yeon-Hee and Dae-Bom entered into a spacious room with the lights off, only illuminated by the large open windows. The room was filled with six desks on one side near the entrance and four at the end of the room, both belonging to team one and three. There were also computers on the desks along with some case files in tidy and disorderly stacks, and two white boards as dividers. On one the desks, scrolling on his computer as he was combing through security footage of the area that the murdered man was supposedly at, Tae-Seok did not notice Yeon-Hee and Dae-Bom, until they turned on the lights, prompting him to look at them.

Im Tae-Seok was still in his mid twenties, with short black hair, dark eyes and above ordinary features that had no wrinkles. His eyes had a bit more red in them than they should have as he had been diligently focused on tirelessly looking at security footage of where the murdered man had been last before subsequently being brought and killed at his house.

"You're back, find anything important?" He asked in a deep voice that did not match his face.

"Mm, besides the fact that the killer murdered him using the crimes he had committed and that the drugs in his system were used before he was kidnapped, nothing." Yeon-Hee said, taking off her brown jacket as she sat down on the chair opposite Tae-Seok in her black, short sleeved T-shirt with the identity card resting on her chest as she sighed, racking her mind on the killer and their motives.

"Did you find anything?" Dae-Bom asked Tae-Seok as he walked over to him.

"Yes." Tae-Seok replied, making Yeon-Hee snap out of her thought process and stand up to dart next to him too.

"What is it?" Yeon-Hee asked as they all stared at the computer screen.

"From the footage from the street cameras, I was able to find out where he was." Tae-Seok replied, replaying the footage at a specific time frame.

The footage was in front of a building with a multicoloured neon sign of pink, red and yellow with bouncers in black guarding the doors. Suddenly, stumbling into one of the bouncers and rolling on the pavement was Kim Ho-Sung. He was wearing a black jacket and some cargo jeans that were stretched by his plumpness.

"When and what time was this?" Yeon-Hee asked, still focused as Kim Ho-Sung pointed inside the door as the two bouncers turned and saw what he was pointing at, rushing in.

"On March 5th, 7:45 p.m." Tae-Seok replied in a soft tone as he was also distracted by the footage even though he already watched it. The first few seconds are silent as only Kim Ho-Sung is sitting at the floor, staring at the door that had the two bouncers stumbling out. A figure soon emerged after, dressed in what seemed to be a bulky, black hoodie that covered his face and long cargo pants as he was tall with well built muscles. The figure raised his hands covered with black gloves in level with his head. Yeon-Hee watched all of this with a strong feeling of anticipation and dread at watching the figure stand in a fighting position.

***********

March 5th, 7:45 p.m

I underestimated him. Kim Ho-Sung was much more resilient despite being under the influence of drugs. This derails my plans for a clean abduction. The guards are already charging at me. They are probably part of some street gang full of thugs so they should have decent fighting experience. It does not matter as I will not lose.

"Who are you?" One of them asks, they can barely make out my features due to my attire, that is good. I look around and spot an empty bottle and pick it up, quickly throwing it on the guard's head while he is unprepared, predictable. It breaks and sends him reeling backwards with blood leaking from his forehead, now only one remains and he's already swinging his fist at me. I raise my hand and deflect the punch while throwing my own. The gloves I am wearing have metal put in at the knuckles to maximise damage. The angled right jab I dealt sends the man backwards, giving me a golden opportunity for a clean lower upper-cut to his solar plexus. I strike, knocking the wind out of him. He weakly grabs my shoulder as I grip his throat and line him up for a left hook to the jaw. He goes stumbling down as he is knocked unconscious. The other bouncer has recovered and already has a switchblade out. I stand still and stare at him as he does the same in caution after staring at the unconscious bouncer. I beckon him to attack as I motion with my hand.

"Son of a b**ch!" He yells in anger, going for a predictable angled slash. The sidestep to his left and take a step back, drawing back my steel capped black boots. I let out a strong kick to his shin that flips him backwards head first onto the pavement. He groans as he tries to get up, but I don't let him, stomping his head onto the ground, knocking him out. Now only Kim Ho-Sung remains. He is already up and running down the street, stumbling from the drugs, good. Now he is done. My mission will be completed. I will end his life tonight.
