Chapter 19. A fatal crash
It was day another at Crestwood College. The dust of the sex video was already settling all thanks to the dean who had warned the students. Ava had just walked into the class, her eyes noticing a smiling Kaitlyn. She made a disgusted face with a grunt as she walked to her seat.
Daisy came to Ava's desk as the latter was unpacking her book, getting ready for class.
"Hey Ava", she said getting her attention.
Ava looked at her with a smile.
"What's up Daisy?"
Daisy smiled, lowering her body on Ava's desk. "Nothing. It's just.... about that Kaitlyn".
"What about her?"
"Do you think she's into girls?"
Ava nearly choked. "You think?"
If she was into girls, she wouldn't be in the predicament that she's in at the moment.
"Yeah. She's been looking at you for a while now, smiling like her life depends on it".
"She's probably thinking of ways to get to Kyle ".
"Uh oh. She? She might be pretty but...nah. She's a no".
"Why?", Ava asked her confusion visible.
"You haven't even gotten a chance, let alone that Kaitlyn who looks like a snake".
"Wow, you think so too".
"Why do you say that?"
"Kyle said the same thing as well. I'm just the only one who doesn't see it".
"Don't worry. You've a Kyle that can see it for you".
Ava frowned. " What's that supposed to mean?"
"Everyone in this school is rooting for you both. It's better you stop being sluggish and hold him".
"He doesn't want it ".
"How'd you know that?"
"He said so".
Daisy sighed in defeat at Ava's slow-witted mind.
"My dear Ava", Daisy called with a pout.
"Don't trust the words of guys. He probably said that but obviously means another thing. He says he doesn't want to, but he obviously wants it more than anything else. Why do you think he's always with you? He's never looked at other girls".
"That's prolly because they're not his type".
Daisy shrugged. She was about to continue her lecture on love when the lecturer walked in.
"Later girl".
It was already closing hours and the students were going about their business. Everyone already left the design department except Ava and Kaitlyn. Ava was pondering on what Daisy had said. She wondered if it was a right decision to let Kyle know of her feelings. He was the last person on earth who should know about her crush on him.
"Got something on your mind?", a sultry voice crept into her ears, almost creeping her out .
"What's it?"
"I have been in front of you for a while now. You didn't seem to notice my presence".
"That's nothing of importance ".
Kaitlyn smiled. "That's right. Anything that's not Kyle Compton is of low importance ".
"You just defined you personality", Ava said standing up.
"I told him ", Kaitlyn said.
Ava froze. She paled. A lot of emotions swarmed in causing her to stagger a bit.
She glared at Kaitlyn who had a smirk on her face. "You still have the time to glare? You should be on your way to his class".
"There's no need ", that deep voice that was iconic to the both girls engulfed the whole place.
"Kyle", she called, her voice quivering
"Ava, you okay?", he asked ignoring the third party.
"Yes. Kyle...you see, I have something to tell you".
"You can say that after the movie ", he said whipping out two tickets.
Ava arched her brows. "Really? The movies? Do you even know what that means?"
"Doesn't matter. I'm going with the best person in my life ".
Ava chuckled. "Ok. Let's go".
They walked out of the class.
Kaitlyn smiled at their departing backs. She had never been so happy. The show was just about to begin.
The duo got on each of their bikes.
"I'm declaring a race today. The last person buys dinner", Kyle said, his smile infectious.
"Ok. Don't cry when you'll be buying the dinner ".
They ignited their engines at the same time and soon, they were on the road.
Ava was taking the lead, surpassing Kyle as usual. She laughed her ass out the moment Kyle was tailing behind. Kyle chuckled at her playful behavior. Stepping on the accelerator, he zoomed further.
As though being controlled by a remote control, a truck came driving from a corner with a speed so mad. And...CRASH!!
