Chapter 25. Jealousy
The fresh air that surrounded Crestwood College entered Ava's nostrils the moment she walked through the school gates. Everything seemed so foreign to her. From time to time, she looked beside her, as if looking for someone. And she was.
Every route that led to her classroom were flooded with memories. It was at that point that she realized that almost half of her school life was spent with Kyle Compton.
Tears threatened to fall but she held them in, afraid that someone would see. She was vexed. But didn't know who to direct it to. Kyle? It wasn't his fault that he lost his memories of her. Kaitlyn? Maybe her, Ava thought. She was the babe of her life. The moment she entered Crestwood College was when all her pain started. She hated her. She hated her so much.
As she walked to her class, her eyes which seemed to have the eyes of their own noticed Kyle's red Ferrari parked at the parking lot.
"Kyle", she muttered and took a step forward towards the parking lot but was halted in her steps when she saw Kaitlyn alight from the car. She was the one driving the car. She walked to the other side and pulled open the car door for Kyle to come down.
Ava saw Kyle step out with his right leg followed by the left onewhich was casted.
"It's painful", Ava muttered again. She felt a sharp pain in her heart when she saw him in that pain.
However, the pain was replaced by anger and jealousy when she saw Kaitlyn smile at him after he had said something.
"Wat could be so funny?!", she said behind clenched teeth.
Kaitlyn let him lean on him as they walked to the class leaving Ava a middle finger of triumph.
Ava grimaced as she felt the jealousy eating her up.
"Hey Ava", she heard someone call her from behind.
She turned around only to see her coach smiling brightly at her.
"Good morning Miss Riley".
"How're you doing Ava?"
"Am good. Just going to class".
"Alright. Uh...Ava, I need you to gather the team for a meeting this afternoon after classes ".
"Alright Miss".
"Good. You can be on your way", Miss Riley said and jogged off.
Ava heaved a deep sigh. At the very least, she had something to keep her mind off of Kyle.
