Chapter 18. Plan B
He turned on his heels and walked away. Kaitlyn grimaced in anger at his words. She didn't expect him to give her a response like that. At this point, she confirmed that her plan wasn't going accordingly. She decided to take her plan B.
Ava was taking her books from her locker when she noticed a company. Discovering his identity through that woody scented cologne, she slammed her locker shut.
"What's up best?", she asked with that smile that was only signature to her.
"Nothing", he said looking at her.
She loves you
He heard Kaitlyn's voice say to him. She didn't look like she was lying at that time. Though she was trying to provoke him against Ava, she was...
"Hey?!", Ava called swatting his arm. Kyle broke out from his thoughts. "Why'd you hit me that hard?"
"I would have been gentler had you been listening".
"Yeah".
"So what's up?"
"I met Kaitlyn ".
Ava felt her heart shift. What did they talk about? Did she say anything to him?
"Oh...", she said and started walking off. Her mind wheels began turning as she thought of an answer to counter whatever question Kyle might bring.
"She said a lot of things".
"Like what?", she blurted, her crisp voice turning to a whisper.
"That she loves me".
Ava heaved a sigh of relief at his reply. Nothing out of the ordinary. Kaitlyn was a good girl after all, she thought with a smirk.
"Yeah, she's loved you for a while now. She could do crazy things for you".
Unknown to her, the 'she' in Kyle's sentence was her. Kyle took all the answers she gave to heart.
In an abandoned building.
The man was all dressed in black as he looked at his client .
"What's it that you want, client?"
"I want you to do what you're always good at".
The man smirked as he looked at his client.
"You don't have to worry. I do everything cleanly", he said, with a smile that was gruesome to the eyes even disgusting the person hidden under that black cloak.
"Remember,we never met"
"Consider your identity secret, client".
The person under the cloak handed him five bundles of cash. The man grinned and guffawed at the large sum he had gotten within a night.
The client walked away, not looking back at the man again.
