Chapter 17. She loves you
The next day at Crestwood College, during one of his classes, Kyle received a text from an unknown number.
Let's talk at the school lawn. I have something interesting on Ava. If you don't want it spreading, meet me.
F**ck!, Kyle cursed under his breath. Who was this? How dare that person?
While he was still vexing at the text, another one came in.
Don't think this is a drill. Better come to the lawn
Kyle's eyes turned to slits at the threat. Who was this bastard?
No sooner had the class ended than he left the class. He hurried off to the lawn.
There was no one there. Kyle smirked. He wasn't one to be toyed with but this person was messing with him?
"You're here?", a voice sounded behind him, catching his attention. He was surprised the moment he turned. Who was that? Kaitlyn?
"This isn't a drill?"
"Does that matter? It only matters that you're here".
Kyle scoffed. "What's your deal with us, Kaitlyn?"
"Us? You and Ava?"
"Look here Miss Hart, I'm not one to play your silly mind games with. It's all thanks to Ava that I haven't sent you away from my side. Now you have the nerve to call me around?"
Kaitlyn grimaced at his words. He wasn't really merciful. Not at the least.
"Where's the interesting stuff you wanted to show me?"
Silence.
Kyle smirked and closed in on her. Kaitlyn's mind turned messy at his scent that was filled with maleness.
"Kyle", she called her voice hoarse.
"Give it to me".
"Why do you hate me so much?"
Kaitlyn felt her heart clench the moment that question left her mouth. She thought she had said it in her mind. How come...?
However, what followed was more sorrowful. Kyle's tortuous words.
"I don't just hate you. You're vile to me. You're the worst person I have ever seen in my life".
"Why so..?", she asked, her voice shaky.
"I heard of your trick. At my party ".
Kaitlyn paled. How come...? She scoffed the moment one person came to mind. Ava. She was the only one.
"Even if you hadn't done that, I wouldn't still like you", Kyle said and turned to leave.
"She's the reason I did it".
Kyle nearly laughed. "What's that supposed to mean? Do you love her?"
"No. I don't ".
"So...?"
"She...loves you
Kyle looked at her. Kaitlyn sneered in her heart. Let's see how this goes, damned besties.
But, as always, Kyle was bound to stump on her.
"It doesn't matter", was the cold reply.
