Chapter 4 - Successfully arriving at the mansion!
Hours after the wealthy couple left, a group of old men who radiated waves of tyrannical power from their emaciated but super-strong-looking bodies, suddenly appeared.
With menacing auras and murderous looks on their faces, they began to move around the area where Evolrrhia's body was.
After moving around for a while and couldn't find anything, they looked at Evolrrhia's corpse and began to wonder where the basket that was with her was. They knew what that basket contained, her baby. And it would be entirely wrong to wipe off an entire family, leaving one out. That would be calling forth imminent doom upon themselves in the future. So, it was better to take care of all loose ends.
These old men, weren't the Priests or Priestesses that imbued one with Blessings. They were far greater than that they could cause a massive rift or slit to tear open in the sky using only their gazes. They were Dominions, beings of great power that were just below the Ancients. If one were to include other titles and rank them, they would be in the order of—in ascending order: Seats, Crowns, Glories, Dominions, and Ancients.
As they moved around, trying to search for the basket that they saw her flee with to evade the large army of Blessed warriors, Priests, and Priestesses that were after her to destroy her, they couldn't help but develop really bewildered look on their faces. After a while of crossing large distances very quickly in search of the mysteriously missing basket, they all gathered once again at the area where Evolrrhia's corpse was.
"If we arrived earlier, none of these would have happened. But that extremely powerful force that suddenly descended, enclosing the entire territory and preventing the entry of virtually every other glorious being, what is it? What is that force? I have never seen or heard of such in my entire life." A Dominion said.
Then he spoke further, a curious look setting on his face, "Could that have been summoned by this Priestess?"
"Impossible. That's absolutely impossible. We ourselves can't call down such a mighty and destructive preternatural force, so how would an ordinary mortal Priestess be able to do so? Something must have definitely happened for that unknown mystical force to suddenly descend."
"The only thing that just stood out to me, based entirely on what I felt from the powerful force, was the undying love and indomitable protective embrace of a mother."
"It felt like a majestic, great divine mother who would do anything to protect her offspring, had descended from the Heavens, spreading her restrictive power over everything, and in the act, blocking off every point of entry into this region. That was another thing I could perceive from that seemingly all-destroying force and couldn't help but wonder." Another Dominion said, contributing his own thought.
"Hmm." They all uttered in unison. However, they didn't think too much into it and simply discarded it from their minds.
One of them then suddenly said with a determined look present on his face, "Let me try to reverse time with my ability, perhaps I would be able to find the basket. Though I tried it before, I however got nothing. Let me try again if I would be able to find something, even just the slightest clue."
"Alright. Please carry on." One of them said, while the Dominion that spoke nodded his head.
Then he closed his eyes, causing hundreds of large wheels that had countless abstruse symbols on their surfaces to appear around him. Immediately these wheels—which looked golden in color appeared, they began to move around in opposing directions. As they turned, millions of massive illusory screens suddenly surfaced in the air around them, showing things that happened many moments ago in all parts of the vast territory.
However, after a while of going at it, nothing really happened. The screen couldn't show how the basket got missing. Anytime each of the screen were seconds away from showing that part, they would immediately skip to another part, revealing something else entirely. These caused all the Dominions presently gathered here to develop astonished and really perplexed looks on their faces.
"What is really happening? It's like some force or entity is interfering with your power. It is blocking off the screens from showing us the actual information we need. Ugh." A Dominion said while the others nodded their heads.
After a long while of trying but ended up with an humiliating fruitless result, the Dominion stopped and said with a strongly confident tone in his voice, "Something definitely happened here. And it must have been evoked by this idiot lying on the ground."
"Yes. Anyway, what's done is done. Let's leave this place to return to our abodes. There is no point being here anymore. As for the baby in the basket, what can he actually do? If he needs Blessings in the future when he is older and goes to any of the Priests or Priestesses that fearfully answer to us, he will immediately meet his absolute doom. That, I can assure him." Once a Dominion said this, the others nodded their heads in agreements and prepared to leave.
Looking at Evolrrhia's body once more, a Dominion whose eyes shone with viciousness, abruptly released a vast and exceedingly luminous tide of fearsome, air and earth-trembling power from his palm. This struck into Evolrrhia's corpse with a power that will turn rows of mountains to fine sand. So, it instantly transformed her lifeless body into countless bloodied pieces that scattered everywhere on the ruined earth.
Then he vanished, along with the others to return to their various abodes.
...
After walking for a long time, dodging and avoiding certain minor authorities—regulation-enforcement officers who walked about, trying to put everywhere in order since chaos and fear ruled ruled at the moment, they finally got to their large mansion. This, they accomplished many hours later.
Once they got to their mansion, they both heaved great sighs of relief and thanked their stars for such a smooth hide-and-dodge operation from certain agencies that might arrest and get them heavily questioned.
But, Villaria knew that it was more than just their stars. The baby's mother was definitely with them. Though she was dead and long gone, she was however with them in some form she couldn't really explain.
Being a great and virtuous mother herself, one who was totally loving and fully protective of her kids, she could somehow subtly perceive that feeling. But, if she knew it was a profound motherly force that had taken the place of Evolrrhia—after calling down the powers of the world and her eventual demise, she might be stunned.
This force, sometimes called the Great Custodian or Grand Keeper, and was debunked to be entirely false, was one that mysteriously emerged after Evolrrhia's last words of sorrow, regret, anguish and pain.
Also, Villaria thought that the baby had tremendous luck, which could be a Blessing that was imbued upon the boy by his mother.
Understanding this, she couldn't help but be happy that a Child of Limitless Fortune had followed her home. She looked at the playful baby that rubbed his tiny hands all over her face and said with the light of motherly affection emitting from them, "Welcome home, son. Welcome to your new family. I promise to treat you well and love you, just like how your mother would have done. And I will see to it that you grow into a fine man that will make your real mother proud. In fact, all mothers."
