Chapter 7 - Heavy panic

Glade got to school and arrived in class. Then he sat on his chair and brought out his writing book, ready for the day's lecture.

The school he enrolled in was the Great Horizon Academy. It was a massive academy that had numerous towering buildings several times the size of a large stadium.

Being the most popular academy in the region, it was where many people—Blessed people wanted to attend. Also, non-blessed people could attend, in hopes that they could impress the the instructors who would write down and submit their names to Priests and Priestesses attached to the school for favored Blessing Evocation. It was through only this mean that they could obtain Blessings from the Blessing Givers—Priestesses and Priests.

Due to this system in place, it was what prevented Thorrhia from getting or obtaining any Blessing, even the least of it. The Priests and Priestesses couldn't be bribed. They would only attend to the long submission of names compiled by the instructors themselves.

Besides, there was no way to find a Priest or Priestess to their homes or residences. It was totally impossible. Also, they never show face in public, with no one knowing who they were or what they were.

The only time they appeared was for really special events and occasions. And even when they did, they were always on large cloaks with big hoods that would entirely cover their faces, preventing recognition by anyone.

Furthermore, a strong and unconquerable active curse was in place—jointly set by a large coven of Constellation-rank Sovereign Ancients that, 'Any Priest or Priestess who tried to bless anyone without following the processes for it, will be struck dead by a certain, enigmatic mystical force—Overseer Force that was attached to it.

As for the Blessed individual who also didn't follow protocols, they weren't exempted from the instant-annihilating attack of the overpowering, universal-level curse. He or she, and if they were a group, would be immediately struck dead by the mandated monitoring force too.

Why Evolrrhia didn't seem affected that night, was because she was going to die anyway. Also, she was offering herself as a sacrifice to the Universe's Mandate of Destruction with the aim of sealing her son's imbued empowerments with her life and blood. And for Glade who hadn't being affected till now by the power of the curse, was simply because the Overseer Force evoked by the Ancients, was easily kept away by the aura of the Mandate of Absolute Destruction.

It wasn't a minor or some major mandate that its activities could be interfered with by the Overseer Force, but a Mandate that could end worlds, universes, gods, absolutely all creations—living or non-living.

So, due to this really harsh system in place, despite their parent's exceeding wealth, it was absolutely impossible for Thorrhia to be able to obtain a Blessing—even the slightest one.

This made her cry in deep anguish every night and have really less confidence in herself, thinking that she wasn't talented at all and was rather a useless person. And all her aim was to be blessed and make her family really proud.

Children of other rich families were Blessed, but she just couldn't obtain that Blessed status—through the teachers who will pen down her name for submission to any of the designated, Blessing-imbuing councils authorized to work at the academy.

But with the introduction of Glade into her life, into her family's life, things had turn around greatly for her. She had never been more happier. Also, she couldn't do without Glade, her really handsome baby brother. Even if he was thirty, he would still be a cute, little baby brother to her. She simply loved him so dearly and was ready to do anything for him. It was the perfect big sister-brother relationship.

Then, the reason why already-blessed people—individuals who were highly favored by High Priest and Priestesses because of their bloodline or lineage, or because of numerous other things, attended the academy, was to obtain more Blessings from other priests and priestesses. However, it must not go above six—the maximum set by the Ancients, or they would be utterly destroyed for disobeying and breaking their long-standing, ancient rule.

Glade, who was currently seated in the class for the Blessed Ones, looked over to see some group of girls staring admiringly at him. Just as he was about to take his face off them and focus it in another direction, he could suddenly hear what they were saying, like they were saying it directly into his ears. It was loud and clear, as if booming sound instruments were used to blast their voices into his ears.

Surprised by what he just found out, he kept his cool and calm. However, his mind was frothing and seething with ceaseless wonder and marvel.

'What's going on with me?' He asked within himself, his heart pacing wildly, and his blood surging about within him.

As he grew, he had discovered that he had two Blessings—Dragon-Shadow Variant Fire Evocation and Black Lightning Storm Generation; products of the Absolutely-Rare-Abilities Possession Blessing, a type of first-ever-in-the-world Blessing that would cause him to be ceaselessly imbued with countless unimaginable and unprecedented abilities—ones never seen, heard, spoken, or imagined before as he grew into a fine and classy young man.

After his unwitting discovery of this two abilities—at the age of six, and armed with the understanding that he needed either a Priest or Priestess to possess even a single Blessing, Villaria falsely explained to him that he was an anomaly—that he was born with the abilities and should never ever tell anyone about them.

Because he discovered the abilities way too early, Villaria couldn't divulge to him yet that his true mother was the highest-ranking priestess in their region, and as well in hundred other regions, then also that she was the one who gave unquestionable orders to every other priestess in their region.

She also couldn't reveal to him—as he was still too young, that his exceptional and really popular Priestess mother was so powerful that even the highest-ranking priest in their region wouldn't be able to contend with her without humiliating himself. She was massively more powerful than him that describing their prowess in terms of number, would be 1,000,000, for her and 900 for him, and as well for numerous top-ranking priests from many other regions. They weren't equals or power-level mate in any way.

This always baffled and troubled the priests and priestesses, as well as the Glories, Crowns, Seats, and Dominions, and as well the supernal ruler entities called Ancients.

So, Glade already had an understanding that he had two inborn Blessings. But now that he could hear what was being naughtily discussed about him with great volume from a slightly far distance—as they were thirty feet across him in their really massive classroom that could easily contain more than twenty thousand already-Blessed or favored students, he couldn't help but be shocked.

Another Blessing had revealed itself to him!

'I am one hell of an Anomaly. Damn! What if I continue to discover more Blessings till I cross the maximum of six Blessings set by the Ancients, wouldn't I be destroyed?' Glade said within himself and began to panic, heavily.

He had three now, and was only three Blessings away from reaching the number mandated by the Ancients to stop. If he crossed over that due to his peculiar constitution, wouldn't instant utter destruction await him? His heart began to beat erratically. But surprisingly, he had a really calm exterior that showed nothing of the great turmoil occurring within him, rocking his whole being with terrifying intensity.

Vilarria herself didn't know about the Blessings evoked upon Glade by his true mother and therefore couldn't say anything about it, except that he was an Anomaly—the only explanation she could come up with for a curious five-year-old Glade. But, her plan was to tell Glade, when he was eighteen years old that she wasn't his true mother. That his true mother was a priestess who imbued him with Blessings, but was unfortunately killed off by treacherous, evil and tyrannical opposers.

That was her plan, with the prayer and hope that everything would go smoothly till that time.

But, the universe that had all its powers—the entire attributes of nine thousand, nine hundred and nine ninety-nine mandates on a certain night of unprecedented phenomenon packaged into one person, wouldn't wait for anyone or anything before the person bearing its vast and limitless Blessings begin to exude and radiate great majesty, imposing grandness, and blinding glory, awing and dominating all beings and existences in his path!
