Chapter 11 - Fearlessly confessing his actions to the council (II)

Actually, the instructors themselves already knew who to pick to have Blessings imbued upon them by the Priests or Priestesses, so anyone doing their best with the aim of having their names penned down by the teachers and submitted to the Blessing-giving council, was only wasting his or time.

This, however, could be enormously influenced by the political power and reputation of the guardian or custodian of the person. Like Thorrhia, even with all the wealth her parent possessed, they couldn't slightly impact the decision of the instructors in any way. But this was entirely because her parent were fully neutral in action to any party that contested to rule the empire, or other areas of it.

Each of these parties—powerful political bodies that would fervently and vigorously contest in elections to rule a particular town, ward, precinct, district, or entire regions within an empire, or the whole empire itself, about twenty of them, had names of the kids and relatives of people—their loyal, religious, and staunch supporters that they would submit to the instructors to be given Blessings by the designated council.

As for the instructors who each had a number of slot—five hundred slots given to them by the Blessing-infusing council, couldn't go above or below it. So, the political parties that won the election for different monarchical or rulership seats in many different wards and regions, would provide their own names of students to be given Blessings.

And usually, they always provided long lists of names that could take up about sixty to seventy percent of the slots given to all the instructors. So, if all the quotas given to them by the council were nearly exhausted, many others wouldn't be able have down their names written and submitted to the council.

And the Blessing imbuement ceremony only happened once in a year—towards the end of the year after all the best or favored names had been written down, neatly compiled, and sent to the council with powerful security escorts for their action.

So, Thorrhia, whose parent sat on the fence concerning their relationship with any political party—as they disliked everyone of them and saw them as tyrannical, avaricious parties that didn't care about any of them and only their pockets, always had her name and many others removed from the list to be replaced by other names given to them by the Blessed elderly compilers that came from those parties, who used this mean, by mandate from their political leaders to show love and appreciation on behalf of their chiefs or heads to their various sponsors, endorsers, patronizers, backers, and supporters.

Therefore, Glade who enrolled into the school—an advise from his mother who wanted the best for him, thinking he could have more Blessings added to the already-discovered two that he possessed, could be wasting his time. Lots of years could go by without having his name written and submitted.

But, any student that spent more than three years in the academy and couldn't get his or name written and submitted, would be kicked off and blacklisted, making the person incapable of returning.

So, the whole thing was viciously and diabolically rigged against people with really less reputation, power, and influence, which was the category that Glade's family tell into.

They only had great affluence and very little political backing—almost negligible, as they didn't want to get their hands dirty with dangerous political games that could have severe repercussions, and could sometimes result in the loss of numerous innocent lives and extensive or total damages to properties. So, it was best to steer oneself off these kinds of thing.

However, their decision still burned them—it affected Thorrhia's inability to obtain or acquire Blessings, causing her deep anguish and the incessant, really intense and strong feeling of total uselessness at a certain stage of her life; her teenage years.

If not for Glade that was introduced into her life as her baby brother, and had his status revealed to her—seeming to her like great heavenly compensation by sudden divine interference, she might have since sank into chronic depression and possibly lose her life. It was one of the reasons why she loved him so much.

She was deeply suffering within and only smiling, maintaining a strong girl front for her mother who wasn't aware of what was going on in her delicate mind and only continued to shower her with exceeding love and affection.

So, Glade's unexpected appearance in her life, was like a dazzlingly resplendent sun in a world eternally cursed with pitch-black darkness. He was like an unceasing spring of revitalizing, sweet-tasting water in a vast and unbounded, constantly-sun-scorched desert.

Just his giggles and soft finger rubs on her face had given her the will, resolve and power to continue to live on, especially for him who she instantly took a tremendously great liking for. So, with great strength filling her body, and both her mental and emotional states stabilized and massively reinforced, she was able to grow into a really gorgeous, highly intelligent woman that could brilliantly spear-head lots of projects and competently lead numerous large industries without the slightest qualm or hassle.

...

Once Glade arrived before the door to the staff room, he knocked once and pushed the door to go in.

Immediately he arrived in the vast, rectangle-shaped staff room that was actually a large rectangular hall that had thousands of seats on both sides of the hall, which were currently occupied at the moment by Instructors who were busy with one thing or the other, he politely greeted and said to them, having attracted their attention towards himself, "Brilliant morning to every instructor here. My name is Glade, and I am responsible for the unintentional destruction of the large mirror in the restroom."

Once he said that, the instructors had their eyes suddenly glow with intense surprise, before ire completely replaced them.

One of them asked with an angry tone in his voice, "What do you mean by you unintentionally destroyed the mirror? Who is going to pay for it? You can't expect the academy to fix what you destroyed, you fool."

Glade only smiled, unaffected by what he uttered and calmly replied, showing off that his parent were wealthy, "I come from a really wealthy home. Fixing the shattered restroom mirror is as easy as clicking my fingers."

Once he said that, the instructors looked at him with unexplainably expressions on their faces. But they felt oppressed by the palpable aura of affluence that exuded from his figure once he mentioned that. At the moment, he had the air of the proud son of an unsurpassable, giant business tycoon swirl around him which the Blessed instructors could easily perceive.

Actually, due to Glade's endowed Blessing of Ceaseless Astronomical Wealth—a Blessing neither he or his family were aware about, but could somehow be sensed by his mother who knew that the quick growth of their affluence, accumulations, and assets acquisitions, were massively influenced by Glade's appearance in their home, had actually rubbed off on both his parent and sister, swiftly catapulting them to the top of the wealthiest people in the Empire, and this was from their previous sixty-ninth position for the richest people in the nation.

At the moment, they were like a thousand times wealthier than the second person on the Empire's Wealthiest Family Ranking. So, due to this, a lot of eyes were on them. Especially dangerously envious eyes that held strong hint of intense avarice, uncontrolled savagery, and unbound bloodlust!
