Chapter 9 - Child of Favor
Glade who had given up—with his eyes tightly shut and his body intensely trembling, waiting for total destruction to descend upon him, discovered to his marvel that after about twenty minute of standing, nothing had happened.
Then he opened one of his eyes to look at himself, then at his surroundings to know if he was still alive.
Once he did so and saw that he was still standing, in bodily form and not in spirit form, and that he was still in the colossal restroom, standing on the litters of countless glass shards, he couldn't help but feel intensely perplexed and massively astounded.
"What's going on? Or is the destruction no longer coming?" Glade asked himself with a really bewildered expression written all over his face.
Then he began to look around him in amazement. But he still chose to wait a bit to see if anything would happen in the next twenty minutes. However, to his shock, he discovered that nothing happened.
"Don't tell me I am exempted because I am an Anomaly." Glade said, his eyes shining.
At the moment, he couldn't understand what was happening and could only shake his head in utter puzzlement.
After waiting for a few minutes more and nothing happened, his eyes unexpectedly gleamed with a certain strong and overwhelming thought rocking the entirety of his heart and soul, 'I am exempted! I am frigging exempted!"
Haha!
He began to chuckle loudly, feeling so good. He couldn't wait to get home and tell his two worlds—his loving, strict mother and doting, lovely sister. He was sure that they would be absolutely delighted at the good news.
Though, they may feel gloomy at first—since it was absolutely impossible for his existence to be tolerated in their world, but he would assure them that absolutely nothing was going to happen to him. He would further tell them that the universe favored him and therefore, could be seen as a Child of Favor, or simply as the Child of the Universe, and that, if other anomalies existed in any part of their world, he would be their sovereign and king, one that could not be surpassed in terms of specialness, exceptionality, and formidableness.
And this elating feeling was so great that if he ended being disgracefully expelled, he would simply tell them, 'Fuck You All!' and then get out of there, since the reason why he came here in the first place, was to get one or two more Blessings to join his already-existing two that he discovered at the age of five.
But now that he had seven—a totally impossible and jaw-dropping obtainment of Blessings, he couldn't give two fucks about them anymore. Academy or no academy, he had won in life already. And who could possibly tell if more Blessings wouldn't show up in the future.
Thinking up to here, he unexpectedly bent down to look at the glass shards scattered everywhere on the large tiled ground and began to think of what to do about them.
Just as he thought of leaving to call the cleaners and report himself as the one who accidentally destroyed the restroom's ginormous mirror and await his punishment, which could be followed next by two-month suspension or total expulsion, a glass shard suddenly levitated into the air and shot towards him, attaching itself to his skin.
Once this occurred, and like a chain reaction, others immediately followed suit, attaching to the skin of his forearm and surprisingly fusing with one another at a rapid rate to form an iridescently glowing, solid crystalline gauntlet that was astoundingly thick and heavy. It almost felt like it was a large rock carved into a gauntlet that an individual could put his or her entire forearm in.
Seeing what had happened, Glade whose eyes shone with intense shock at the unexpected occurrence that just took place, couldn't help develop a certain bright smile of victory and triumph on his lips. Then the words he said to himself earlier, about him being a Child of Favor, or Child of the Universe, began to boom thunderously within his mind. He began to strongly feel that way that he could now perceive lots of overwhelming sensations surface within him.
Not knowing how to take off the glowing and glittering crystal gauntlet that had formed on his hand as a result of the Blessing called Revolutionary Hard-Crystal Monolithic Armor Creation, a product of the Absolute-Rare-Abilities Blessing endowment that he possessed, he tried to break it off to fragments.
But he quickly voted against that, as he could possibly cause more damages to the restroom, as well as to himself—he could break his forearm in the process. Beside, the crystal had fused with the skin of his forearm. So, if he forced it off, it could rip off layers of his skin in the process.
Glade could think in this direction because the crystal gauntlet that seemed like a formidable armored gauntlet, would be absolutely impossible to break, judging by its dreadful thickness and awe-striking density.
Thinking up to here, he deeply exhaled. Then he inhaled a moment later, calming himself and silencing his mind, putting himself into a blank-thought mental state.
Now looking at the large-sized gauntlet—which was twenty times the size of his powerful-looking forearm and continuously emitted an intense iridescent glow, he said with great determination within himself as he calmly and silently focused on it, 'Revert!'
Instantly, the solid, large crystalline gauntlet fell to the ground as numerous glass shards, littering the entire tiled ground once again.
Then he produced a smile on his face and confidently walked out of the restroom to go report himself. It was best to do so than for them to find out themselves. But, he wasn't scared of the outcome, as he already knew what was going to happen after inadvertently creating thousands of scenarios with predicted and mysteriously perceived, nigh-accurate results in his head.
...
In a large dark hall within an enormous, clandestine malevolent organization, a tall young man dressed in black who looked dreadfully imposing and domineering, knelt before a large moving statue that had brightly glowing eyes, emitted frightening rippling waves of power, and spoke to him with a thunderously booming voice that seemed to consist of thousands of multitude speaking loudly at once. This statue said with great puzzlement in its tone, "Blessed Enforcer Kael, something is going on in the Aarthsia region."
"I want you to go there with a few of your colleagues and carry out thorough investigations. It seems there is an unknown, undiscoverable power that is somehow preventing the Overseer Force our Coven of Ancients weaved into existence from doing its job. Investigate this for as long as possible, even if it will take years. Then get back to me with well-detailed individual reports. I just hope it isn't what I think."
