Chapter 15 - Thorrhia's incredible suggestions
"The universe." Glade directly said while Thorrhia rolled her eyes at him.
"You are silly. Are you sarcastically replying me, your big sister?" She asked.
"Haha. At all, sis. I am being serious." Glade said while Thorrhia looked at him with intense surprise in her eyes.
"But how is that possible?" She asked.
"I am an Anomaly." Glade replied.
"Hmm." Thorrhia uttered.
She then suddenly recalled that Glade was the son of the highest-ranking Priestess in their nation, one who was so powerful that she could bless Glories, Seats, Crowns and Dominions with Blessings. And there was no telling if she could bless mighty, nearly-all powerful Ancients, since it seemed like her capability to bless people and entities bordered on the limitless and unfathomable.
'If I am not wrong, before she died, she imbued her son with great amounts of Blessings. Perhaps she even defied the rules of the Ancients to tremendously bless Glade.' She said within herself.
Gazing at Glade with a certain expression on her face, she asked, "What other Blessings do you have, Glade?"
"A lot more, sis. I can hear even the lowest whispers from many miles away. I can walk in the air. Let me show you that so that you will know I am not lying or trying to play with you." Glade said and chuckled, while Thorrhia who heard that and had her eyes shine with great marvel, immediately nodded her head. She would really like to witness that.
"Alright. Here it goes." Glade said.
He then focused and thought of using that Blessing—which was called Air Walking, or Skystriding.
Immediately he did so and took a step, his foot didn't land on the ground. Instead, it remained in the air, seeming like he stepped on a solid unseen platform that was elevated a few inches above the ground. Then Glade took the next step to stand fully in the air, looking like he was floating above the tiled ground.
Once he showed this, and continued to take more steps, climbing really high into the air, he walked back to the ground and looked at his big sister who had her mind totally blown away.
"Nothing but amazing." Thorrhia said with great pride in her tone. While Glade nodded his head, elated at the fact that he was able to impress his loving big sister.
"What more can you do?" Thorrhia suddenly asked.
"A few others, sis. But that's all. I however believe that more will show up in the future." Glade replied while Thorrhia nodded her head.
She then walked to where Glade was and said with a thoughtful look on her face, "Glade, you don't need to wait till more Blessings reveal themselves to you. You should actively search for them. It's not something you should be passive about. So, try to do a lot of things."
"Like the protective, armored crystal gauntlet that you formed, try to see if you can do the same with wood, sand, rock, metal, water, air, fire, and so on. You could even try it with lightning when there is a lightning storm. Haha. Just try to come up with many really odd, outrageous, and totally unimaginable things and see if you would be able to get great or good results from them."
"What?" Glade asked with a look of intense surprise on his face.
Now, it was his turn to be massively shocked.
"Sis, you are even crazier than I am." Glade said while Thorrhia chuckled.
"But why do you think those will work, sis? Do you think I am limitlessly blessed or what?" Glade asked with a certain expression setting on his face.
"Well, I can't say for sure. But you know, anything could be possible. The fact that others can't do it doesn't mean it can't be done by you. You even said so yourself, that you are blessed by the universe. And what does it mean to be blessed directly by the universe, instead of by Priests or Priestesses?" Thorrhia said while Glade nodded his head, fully understanding her.
He wasn't blessed by anyone—at least what he thought at the moment, but had great and rare Blessings reveal themselves to him from time to time. So, what she said, about him being countlessly blessed, wasn't a stretch. It could even be the truth. Though it sounded really wild and mind-staggeringly insane, but it could be partially true for him.
"Alright sis. I will work on the things you said." Glade said while Thorrhia nodded her head.
"Now that you have been expelled, what do you plan to do? You can't be idle. I won't take that from you, even if you beg me with the cutest, imploring eyes ever." Thorrhia unexpectedly asked before saying with a stern expression on her face.
"Haha. At all, big sis. I will definitely find a job to do. I could enrol at anyone of the private or public security organizations that provide registered and trusted protectors or guardians for people that want to cross the roads, valleys, rivers, seas, and oceans from one nation to the next while carrying with them extremely expensive or costly items, such as rare Blessed artifacts gotten for mind-blowing prices at certain auction houses that put low to superior-grade, Blessed or non-blessed items for sale." Glade answered while Thorrhia nodded her head.
"I see you are on the path to becoming a mercenary and warrior. But is that a really good path? I don't want to lose my handsome baby brother to bandits, pillagers or marauders that could suddenly appear to attack you in small or large groups. It will be really devastating to me if anything should happen to you." Thorrhia said while Glade simply broke a smile on his face.
He then said, "Sis, even if I want to kill myself. I don't think the universe will allow it."
Thorrhia smiled and nodded her head.
She then said, "Well, you won't be joining them that quickly. You will work for me for sometime. I promise to pay you well."
"Nah. Forget payment, sis. I can work for free for you. Why would I want to collect money from you as payment for whatever service you want me to render at your organization? Speaking of service, what job would you like me to do for you?" Glade said with a smile appearing on his lips, before suddenly asking with a curious expression setting on his face.
"Well, it's similar to what you mentioned. Being a Blessed protector and all. So, I have a place that I want you to act as the chief or head protector there. All others will be tasked to submit to you and give you feedbacks and reports on things. I want you to act within that role for sometime before finally leaving to go do what you want." Thorrhia said while Glade nodded his head.
"That's no big deal, sis. I can do that for you with no payment." Glade said while Thorrhia defiantly shook her head and said, "That will be exploitation. I am going to pay you. You should get your hands off the matter. Nothing you will say or utter will convince me into not paying you."
"Okay. So, deal?" Glade asked with a bright smile on his lips.
"Deal. But let mom return. Let's see what she has to say about all these. Only she can easily revoke the deal between us. Haha." Thorrhia said and chuckled, while Glade nodded his head.
Then he said with a certain look on his face, "Sis, I will leave soon to go practice all that you mentioned. I will choose a deserted valley or cave where no one would see me try to produce the effects of different forms of stimulated Blessings."
"I should be able to find a book or manual for that—one that will list locations of valleys, wilderness, and so on. So, we'll talk again when I am back. And yes, wish me great luck. Let's hope I will be able to seamlessly execute all the things that you suggested."
