With that, I explained the entire thing that happened to her as to why there was no sign of completion on my paper. About how I encountered a demon while doing the quest and it killed the man who requested the quest.
"Wait, are you telling me that the one who requested the quest was killed by the demon," The receptionist said while putting the paper down and looking at me with a surprised face.
"Yes, that's what exactly happened," I said while nodding at the same time.
"Wow, this is quite unexpected," The receptionist said while appearing to be in deep thought.
"Yeah, I know. Anyway, is it possible for me to submit my quest completion still even though the one who requested the quest was already dead? As I just want to get the reward as soon as possible," I said while hoping that it was still possible to do so.
"Well about that, we can't confirm it has been finished after we did some throughout checkout. There might be a chance that you are lying because encountering a demon and surviving it is rather impossible. Also, you are an F-rank adventurer as well. So, there's no way you could have survived against a demon," The receptionist said with a skeptical expression.
I couldn't blame her as I understand it is hard to believe, because F-rank adventurers are usually weak despite me being a former soldier. I doubt that one person could stand against a demon without much difficulty.
So, I couldn't blame her for being skeptical about what I said, especially since I had yet to tell her about the swordswoman's existence. But I would tell her about it and make her believe me.
This scenario reminds me of when the time I got dismissed from being a soldier. The people, there don't even believe me and accuse me of trying to fake my story to attain glory and promotion.
"I understand why you are skeptical but there is someone who helped me slay the demon and it was an adventurer like me as well," I said while hoping this would help convince her.
"I see and mind if I know that adventurer characteristics?" The receptionist then said.
"The adventurer was a female swordswoman, I do not know what her face looks like as she's wearing a helm. But she does seem to wear silver armor," I said while remembering the appearance of the swordswomen.
"Silver armor you say? Is that all?" The receptionist then said.
"Yeah," I replied right away.
"Wait? Are you referring to Irina the famous swordswoman in the adventurer guild? She's the one you are talking about right?" The receptionist then said while starting to get hyped up all of a sudden.
"I am new so I probably don't know who is but it could be," I replied while wondering why she was suddenly getting hyped all of sudden.
"It can't be anyone else since there aren't any swordswoman wearing silver armor. Also, it is rather common for Irina to wear her helm if she's out there adventuring as she is an S-rank adventurer after all," The receptionist said that made me surprised, as it turned out that the swordswoman was an S-rank adventurer and I had no idea.
If Irina was the swordswoman that saved me then this issue would be resolved. But since I am not sure yet, I think the best thing to do was to wait until the swordswomen returned to the adventurer guild before I could confirm it for myself.
With that in mind, I decided to kill time by sitting on one of the chairs in the guild.
The receptionist girl also didn't mind and allowed me to stay in the guild for the time being. But she was certain that the person who saved me was the S-rank adventurer Irina.
However, she does understand that it might not be the case until she can confirm it from Irina herself.
However, there is another thing that I learned. It seems like there aren't any restrictions on staying at the adventurer guild as long as you aren't causing a disturbance in the guild.
Two hours then passed by and Irina finally returned to the guild.
As I did saw the same swordswoman walk through the guild door and head straight toward the receptionist counter.
"Oh Irina, it's so good to see you again. Did you have a successful adventure today?" The receptionist then said in a very happy tone as she spotted Irina walking in.
"It's good to see you too, Lisa," Irina said in a gentle voice.
"Oh and yeah, I have done the quest that the guild master requested as well." She then added.
"That's great to hear," Lisa then said in a very happy tone.
"Yeah, it's really fun and I manage to encounter a demon. It wasn't a greater demon or anything but I still managed to slay it in the end," Irina said which made Lisa surprised, just like how I was when she killed the demon in an instant.
"Irina, I have something to ask you," The receptionist then said to Irina and called me to come over right away as well.
"What is it?" Irina said.
"Did you save an adventurer from a demon earlier?" The receptionist then said that to the swordswoman.
"Yes, I did," Irina said while nodding at the same time.
"Thank goodness, so it was you," Lisa said in a relieved tone.
I then approach Irina and decide to thank her for saving me earlier.
"I'm glad that the swordswomen was indeed you, Irina. You really saved me earlier and I can't thank you enough," I said right away.
Lisa then explains the entire thing to Irina. About how she was skeptical about me being able to survive an encounter with a demon.
But after hearing her explanation, Irina didn't get mad or anything as she understood that it was part of Lisa job to be skeptical as there's a chance that people could be lying.
