Alisha Johnson's luxury car stopped in front of the Johnson Hotel, her charm and beauty immediately struck anyone who laid their eyes on her. She stepped out of the car with her head held high, radiating confidence and authority. She had a reputation for being strict, harsh and having a bad attitude, which made all her employees quiver in fear whenever she was around.
As Alisha walked towards the hotel entrance, her employees scattered like a flock of pigeons. They hurriedly bowed their heads, hoping that she wouldn't notice them. Alisha, on the other hand, didn't pay any attention to them. She had more important things on her mind.
As she entered the lobby, she walked towards the reception desk where Shonetta, the receptionist, greeted her with a nervous smile. "G-Good morning, Ms. Johnson. How can I assist you today?" she asked, trying her best to appear pleasant.
Alisha frowned and said, "Why aren't my personal elevators available yet? I have an important meeting to attend, and I don't have time to waste."
Shonetta hesitated for a moment before responding, "I-I'm sorry, Ms. Johnson. The Janitor is still cleaning it. I can ask him to stop and make it available for you."
Alisha's frown deepened, "Well, do it then. I can't believe I have to remind you of these things!"
Shonetta quickly picked up the phone and called Joel, "Joel, Ms. Johnson needs the personal elevator. Can you stop cleaning it and make it available for her?"
Joel, who was in the middle of cleaning the elevator, sighed in frustration. He knew that Alisha was a tough boss to please and that he couldn't afford to make any mistakes. He quickly finished up and made his way to the elevator.
As Alisha stepped into the elevator, she glared at Joel and said, "You know, Joel, you really need to work on your timing. You can't afford to make mistakes like this, especially when I have important meetings to attend!"
Joel bowed his head and replied, "I'm sorry, Ms. Johnson. It won't happen again."
Alisha snorted and hit the button for her floor. As the elevator doors closed, she couldn't help but wonder why it was so hard to find good staff these days. She made a mental note to have a word with Joel's supervisor about his poor timing.
The elevator ride was short, and before she knew it, Alisha was stepping out onto her floor. She took a deep breath and straightened her suit, preparing herself for the important meeting ahead. With a final glance around, she strode confidently towards her office, ready to take on whatever challenges lay ahead.
As Alisha was about to sit on her CEO's chair, her secretary Sarah nervously approached her. "E-Excuse me, Ma'am Alisha," Sarah said hesitantly. "I-I'm afraid I have some bad news. The meeting that you were supposed to have today has been postponed."
"What do you mean it's been postponed?!" Alisha snapped, clearly agitated. "I cleared my entire schedule for this meeting! Why wasn't I informed earlier?!"
"I'm so sorry ma'am," Sarah stammered. "I forgot to send the email to the other party to confirm the meeting. It was a mistake on my part, and I take full responsibility for it."
Alisha's face turned red with anger. She stood up from her chair and glared at Sarah. "You forgot to send the email? Do you have any idea how important that meeting was? Do you realize how much money we could have made if we closed that deal?!"
"I-It was a humble mistake ma'am," Sarah said, tears welling up in her eyes. "I'm truly sorry. Please forgive me."
But Alisha wasn't in the mood for forgiveness. She reached over to her desk and grabbed a stack of papers, throwing them to her face. Sarah flinched as the papers slapped her and scattered across the floor. "This is unacceptable, Sarah," Alisha seethed. "You had one job, and you couldn't even do that right. I can't have people like you working for me!"
Sarah tried to compose herself, but the tears were flowing freely now. "Please, ma'am," she begged. "I know I made a mistake, but I'll do anything to make it right. Please don't fire me."
Alisha shook her head in disgust, she said coldly. "No, I can't have someone who can't handle the simplest tasks working for me. You're fired! Get out of here!"
Sarah bowed her head in defeat, picked up the scattered papers, and silently walked out of the room. Alisha sat down at her desk, seething with anger. She couldn't afford to have anyone in her company who couldn't keep up with her high standards, even if it meant firing someone who had been loyal to her for years.
As Sarah was leaving the CEO's office, tears streaming down her face, some of the staff noticed her and asked what happened. Jenna, one of Alisha's other secretaries, walked over to Sarah and put a comforting arm around her.
"Sarah, what happened? Did Ma'am Alisha fire you?" Jenna asked, concern etched on her face.
Through sobs, Sarah replied, "Yes, she did. She was so angry that I forgot to send an email, she threw all the papers on her desk at me and then fired me."
Jenna sighed, "I'm so sorry, Sarah. I know how harsh and unforgiving the CEO can be. She's always been like that, but it doesn't make it any easier to deal with. Just know that we're all here for you and we'll help you through this."
The other employees who had gathered around nodded in agreement, sympathy on their faces. They knew that Alisha had a reputation for being strict and harsh, but they also knew that Sarah didn't deserve to be treated that way.
Sarah wiped her tears and forced a small smile, "Thank you, Jenna. I appreciate your support. I just need to find a new job now."
Jenna patted her back, "Don't worry, Sarah. You're talented and hardworking. You'll find something better than this."
As Sarah walked out of the office, the other employees bid her farewell and wished her luck in her job search. They knew that Alisha's behavior was not acceptable, but they also knew that they had to continue working under her strict and unforgiving leadership.
