Chereads / Absolute Eternity / Chapter 2 - Reincarnation

Chapter 2 - Reincarnation

"Waaah, uwaaah."

Is it normal to hear a baby's cries as you die…? I must be hearing things now.

"Waaaaaaah!"

The wail was getting louder and louder, and my vision was filled with darkness.

Suddenly, I started to feel a mysterious force pulling me faster than I was fading away.

The baby's wail was getting louder and louder as I was being pulled in. As I wasn't able to avoid the force, I couldn't help but listen.

Since it didn't seem like I was going to wake up anytime soon, while I was being forcefully pulled towards something, I might as well go along with it.

The journey seemed to take an eternity; I was thinking, why didn't it feel like I was dead and where is my soul being pulled towards, beckoning me towards what I hoped would be heaven.

Instead, my vision of everything around me turned into a blur of bright red as the wailing never stopped…

'Wait, the sound is coming from my body!'

I couldn't understand what was happening.

The force pulling me slowed down as my vision started to become clear.

The surroundings were dim with...what are those things...is that trees? It was as if it were twilight with a gloomy atmosphere.

...wait.

Is this what I think it is?

Thinking that, I felt some kind of droplet falling into my eyes.

"Is it a water droplet?"

"It seems I can move now!"

So, gently as I opened my eyes and raised my torso, I was able to finally re-orient myself and get a better understanding of my surroundings.

"Where....am I?"

The surrounding area resembled some kind of forest and it was so dark because of the night sky.

So, what should I do? I believe I have been reborn. I suppose I should go along with it.

"Waaah, uwaaah."

Aw..My stomach is hurting.

I couldn't help it, and it seems my weak cries reverberated in the woods. Where the hell is this place?

Suddenly, a woman cradled me in her arms and used a nearly torn quilt as a blanket to keep the cold wind from blowing through the pathways.

The surroundings were dim, as if it were twilight with a gloomy atmosphere.

"Waaah, uwaaah."

"Waaah."

I was just...suffocating with my stomach ache, and I tried to make a sound to signal that to the woman who was holding me, but all I could do was cry.

It appears that I was somehow reincarnated, and by the flow of energy inside me, I'm only a few days, yes, just a few days. more likely...three days old. But I was already experiencing a strong negative emotion.

Even for a former great hero, this is a lot to take in though. No matter how strong I used to be, now I'm just a baby. It can't change my fragile and baby body.

My body is out of my control and this woman who seems to be my mother is really not in good condition. It is clear that she is malnourished and frail. I'm not sure what happened, but she must have suffered for a long time, and with me here, she should be making sure I don't become severely malnourished.

It appears that if things continue as they are, me and my mother could die at any time.

I could just gather energy from the atmosphere to keep her alive until someone finds us. Right! I should really be doing that.

Let's see....I closed my eyes even with my crying going on and on. I slowly started to compel my internal energy to flow slow so that I could control my breathing. As soon as I was able to do that, my body started to hurt again and again. Guess in this life my body should be trained to control the energy flow.

Slow and steadily, even when I felt my blood rushing up I was able to slowly gather energy from the surrounding trees and reverberate through my body. By this, the woman could get essential energy to hold on through breathing for now.

I wish someone would come and find us soon. My body won't last long like this.

Heck, it's not the first time I'm facing adversity like this. I will survive. I'll go ahead with it.
