"What? Alex did such a despicable thing? What a b*stard!"
After listening to her explanation, Jamie was likewise infuriated and started lambasting Alexandar.
"I told you your sister is a cunning person." Jamie sneered.
"I'm tired, so I'd like to rest, Jamie."
Although Evily felt repulsed every time Alexander came to mind, he was still the man she had loved for four whole years. Thus, it would be a lie if she were to say that she was wholly unbothered.
Right now, Evily only wants to have a good sleep and forget about him. When she wakes up, she'll simply pretend as though he never existed in her life!
Knowing that she was hurting, Jamie left without saying another word.
She didn't know how long she slept, but when she roused, she heard a racket in the living room and what sounded like Alexandar's voice.
Jamie was seemingly arguing with him.
As soon as she opened the bedroom door, she immediately caught sight of Alexandar sitting on the couch in the living room. Jamie, on the other hand, wore an expression of fury.
"Eve!" Alexander hurriedly called out upon spotting her.
"What are you doing here? You're not welcome here!"
Stifling the urge to rush forward and demand why he betrayed her, she deliberately feigned a detached expression.
"Eve, regarding the incident last night…"
Alex stood up and walked toward her with guilt in his eyes.
"Why? Do you want to describe how you had a passionate affair with my sister last night right before my friend?"
"I know I was at fault for the incident last night, Eve. Amelia didn't mean anything to me. I was just..."
Before he could finish his sentence, Evily cut him off. "That's enough! It's over between us, so you don't need to explain anything to me, Alexander. Get out! I don't want to see you!" Evily shouted, pointing at the door.
She almost couldn't restrain herself from marching up to him and demanding to know why he betrayed me.
"Didn't you hear that? Get out!"
Indignant, Jamie grabbed a broom and swung it at Alexandar as she chased him out.
After Alexander left, she felt as though all the energy had been drained out of her and plopped down onto the floor with a vacant gaze.
Although he was a scumbag, he was still a man she had loved for four years, so it would be a lie to say that she wasn't anguished that things ended between them in such a manner.
"Just let it all out, Eve. You'll feel better afterwards."
Walking over to her, Jamie hugged Eve tightly, her voice brimmed with distress.

Eve had just come out of the shower in Jamie's bathroom when Bruce appeared before her eyes.
Bruce was staring at the young lady through squinted eyes. She was wrapped in a small bath towel that barely reached her thigh, revealing her bare shoulders and slender legs.
Evily let out a scream, her face flushing as she waved her hands maniacally in an attempt to cover herself.
Bruce turned around gentlemanly. Eve's face contorted with awkwardness as she jumped behind the door to hide her modesty.
'Why did he keep showing up?' Eve sneered in her head.
"Uncle Bruce, You came!" Jamie said when she spotted Bruce.
"Uncle Bruce, wait for a minute" Jamie said before shutting the door and turning to Evily, Jamie couldn't help but burst into laughter.
"It's not funny!" Evily snapped.
Jamie shook her head. "Uncle Bruce has probably seen all sorts of women out there. To him, women are just women, you know? Besides, you're my friend."
She pulled Evily downstairs. Evily was a bundle of nerves. Why is he still here?
Jamie could feel that Evily was trying hard to rein in her nerves.
"Relax, Eve. My uncle is your uncle. Right, Uncle Bruce?"
Jamie looked at Bruce, then gave Evily a nudge.
"You can call him 'Uncle Bruce' Eve, just like I do."
Evily heart did a somersault when her eyes met the man's cold ones. "U-Uncle Bruce" she mumbled sheepishly.
He simply uttered a response.
An idea struck Jamie as she clapped her hands and continued, "Uncle Bruce, you know a lot of young and handsome men, right? How about you introduce Eve to someone?"
The bold suggestion scared Evily out of her wits; her heart almost leapt out of her throat.
Not that she was uncomfortable about the proposal, but the person Jamie was proposing to.
"No, no, no! Mr. Hudson. I have no plans to get into a relationship yet."
Jamie was going to chime in, but Evily quickly shut her up by pinching her arm, lest she spouted any more nonsense that would only humiliate her further.
Bruce flashed a smirk and said, "With your talent and good looks, Miss Evily, you should, of course, look for the best man there is. Well, I do have a few suitable candidates. I'll arrange for you guys to meet someday."
Evily was stunned.
Does this man not understand English? Why is he insisting on setting me up with someone?
