Zion and Rivar entered the guild and they saw how busy it was in there, then went to one corner and stood up, since they had to wait and didn't want to get in anyone's way.
"How many things do we need to do in order to get a badge or whatever?" Rivar asked and Zion looked at the boards, which had many different categories of jobs that they could do and were visible to all, due to them being on the boards on the walls, which were made from magic and were placed by each of the receptionist's boots as well.
"It all depends on which you choose, the hunter and adventurer type will have the hardest tests, but you don't have to be powerful to get in either of them, even average would get in, as long as you focus and play it smart, sometimes, we can each get the same test at different times or completely different tests," He responded and Rivar exhaled deeply.
"Can I ask you a question, Zion?" Rivar asked.
"What is it?" He asked.
"Why do you want to get stronger? Is it only because of all of this or is there more to your story?" Rivar asked and Zion smirked as he glanced at the ground and his eyes narrowed.
"No, of course not, I have many reasons why I want to get stronger, they don't matter right now though," He responded and Rivar's brows furrowed.
"Why doesn't it matter right now?" He asked and Zion scoffed.
"Well, of course, it doesn't, not yet, not unless I am able to rise, since I have to work to get it, it's no easy task either and I might wreak havoc later on in life though, if I get it, who knows," He responded and a slightly worried expression appeared on Rivar's face.
When Zion saw the look on the young man's face, he chuckled then patted him on his shoulder, telling him to relax and Rivar exhaled deeply, since he found Zion a bit intense at that moment and many times before, even though he may not say much.
"This might take all day long, you wait here, I will go get a bit of info and I will be right back," Zion said then Rivar nodded and the boy left.
After leaving Rivar alone, Zion went to one of the counters and Rivar stayed in the same corner to wait for him to finish doing what he needed to.
As Rivar waited, he looked around the guild and his brows furrowed, when he saw how many different types of people were there and how scary some of them even looked.
'From the look on some of them, I feel as though I might get my head chopped off, he is right, these places are sometimes fun but most of the time, dangerous,' Rivar thought as a shadow appeared over his eyes.
The woman that was at the counter Zion went to and who was also one of the workers there, looked at him then smiled before welcoming him and he smiled at her then glanced at the board before sighing.
"Sir, are you here to sign up for one of the jobs or is there something else that I can help you with?" She asked and his eyes narrowed as he looked between being an adventurer or something else.
"Yes, I think there actually might be something you can help me with, how about deciding this?" He asked and she smiled.
"I can help with that," She responded and he nodded then began talking to her about what he wanted to do and she left staring at him.
At first, she was a little surprised at his questions and the way he was talking about the two jobs, but then understood that there were a few people like him before and knew most were only even joining the guilds to gain for themselves, some didn't even care about others.
While Zion was talking to the receptionist, she handed him a few papers as well as cards and he went through them one by one, since he had to decide carefully.
Those who had business with the guild as well, waited in a line behind him but he moved aside, allowing them to do what they wanted to first, since he would be taking a while and didn't want to keep anyone waiting or have them cause a fuss.
As Zion was going through the things, a group of people approached Rivar and his eyes narrowed when he looked at them and a smirk appeared on one of the guy's face.
"Oh? Aren't you the boy that I met the other day? The one who keeps changing jobs from jobs? The street rat?" He asked and Rivar gritted his teeth.
"What are you doing here? Are you trying to get out of your hellish life? This is not a place for a weakling like you to be, get out of here," He said as he punched Rivar to the ground.
The young man who was harassing him, didn't like Rivar a bit, since he was the one who stood up to him many times, when he was bullying other people but ended up, getting beaten up in the process.
"I suggest you leave me alone, how long do you intend to keep doing this for?" Rivar asked as he looked up directly at his bully's face.
The guy's brows furrowed and he gritted his teeth, because he didn't like the way Rivar was looking at him and he grabbed onto him by the collar of his shirt and Rivar stood up.
"Give me a minute," Zion said as he heard the commotion behind him and he turned around and saw what was going on and his brows furrowed.
"Who do you think you are looking at like that, huh?" The guy asked and Rivar gritted his teeth.
Zion lowered his head as he left the receptionist and she looked at him as he approached them with his fist clenched and her brows furrowed as she observed them carefully, wondering what was going to happen, since she knew the group that was bullying Rivar.
