Chapter 10 - Depends

As Zion looked around the room, his brows furrowed and at the same time, the lights switched on and someone appeared before him and he looked at the person, who waved then smiled at him.

Zion turned towards the guy as his eyes kept on tracing the room, while approaching him and the guy glanced at him then his eyes narrowed.

"Uh... Tell me, are you looking for something?" The guy asked and Zion's eyes narrowed as he looked at him then sighed.

"No, I was just warned to be careful in here," He responded and the guy smiled at him.

The guy before him was tall, slim, fair, had short brown hair with blue eyes and a fine face.

"Who are you?" Zion asked.

"I am the one that will be giving you your test, Liam, nice to meet you," He responded and Zion smiled at him.

"Zion, nice to meet you as well," He said.

"Good, since this is a hunter exam, it won't be that easy, you will actually have to fight but before we let you fight, we are going to test you, like levels, to see if you are even good enough to be at the lowest rank, for those without magic, we use different methods to test them, same with those that have magic, do you understand?" Liam asked.

"Yeah, I understand very well, then I will ask, what if one with magic takes the test that those without magic takes, what will happen then? Is that even valid?" Zion asked as the guy looked at him.

"That's what you want to know?" Liam asked.

"Yeah, it's important, I sort of discussed many things with other people, concerning these tests and so on," He responded and Liam chuckled.

"Half of them can mislead you since most people's tests are different and sometimes harder, a lot of people came through these doors and failed their first time, but taking advice from your seniors in the job class you want, was not a bad idea, that's good," He said and Zion smiled a little then nodded and the guy sighed.

"Now, for your other question, the answer is yes and no, it all depends on the individual of course, sometimes he or she can want something else despite their abilities and sometimes, they can hardly ever get it, do you understand what I am trying to say?" Liam asked and Zion sighed.

"Yeah, I understand, there is no need to explain on that any further," He responded.

"Good, I am glad because we have to get started any minute now, I will be right here as well, just in case anything happend, we cannot afford for any of the applicants to get severely hurt here, we will be in problem," He said and Zion scoffed.

"I know, I will try my best not to as well," He replied and Liam smiled then went to the other side of the room, where he could watch from and the ground that he stood on, moved upwards.

Zion looked up at him and Liam smiled at him and then the door behind him opened up and a guy entered the room and Zion looked at him.

"You will be going up another hunter, mid-ranking, let's see how you do then you will have one more test and I will make a decision, is that okay?" Liam asked as the guy approached him with his body glowing and there was a slight pressure coming off of him and Zion's brows furrowed.

"Are you okay with this or not?" The guy that had just entered the room asked and at the same time.

Zion clenched his right fist and a smile appeared on his face as he looked up at the guy, who looked at him with a serious look in his eyes.

"I am okay with it, I will be glad to go up against him," Zion responded and Liam scoffed.

"Fine, since that's what you want then you guys can go at it, but there will be a limit, I will decide that and after this, the next test will be timed," Liam said.

"I understand everything," Zion replied and Liam chuckled as he looked at him.

"Fine, start," He said as he looked at them and the guy glanced at Zion, whose gaze was fixed on him.

The guy rushed towards Zion, with speed and just as Zion was about to turn around, he appeared beside him, kicking Zion across the room and he went crashing into a wall.

"Ouch, hey you better do well to remember that this is a test go over boundaries and I will make sure you regret it, do you understand?" Liam asked and the guy who kicked Zion looked up at him then scoffed.

"Do what you want, I am going to just do my job as well, this is tiring," The guy responded then turned towards Zion, who was standing not far away from him, looking at him and the guy's brows furrowed.

"The way you keep an eye, you sure you want to be a hunter?" The guy asked and Zion sighed.

"Yes, I do, I have been hearing that question too much lately," He responded and the guy chuckled.

"All right, then let's see what you got, it's going to be night soon so this can't be long," The guy said as he rushed off and Zion paid close attention to his surroundings.

'Remember how I did it and focus,' Zion thought, and just when the guy was about to attack him, he pulled back and the guy's eyes widened then Zion looked at him and spun around, kicking him directly in his stomach and he was sent flying into a wall and at the same time, his eyes glowed slightly green.

"Nice, this is nice," Liam said as he looked at them and the guy coughed then moved towards Zion, whose eyes narrowed as he kept a close watch on him and at the same time, the guy's right fist began glowing.

"This is going to be my final step, I will decide whether you are worthy or not," He said.

"Bring it," Zion replied as his eyes shimmered a little and he got into a fighting stance.
