Chapter 34 - Women's battlefield

...

Shijin POV

I entered with Xiao Yao and Yao Yao into the first room we were able to open. The room was like a laboratory. The walls all contained strange creatures and chemical things. I asked her, "You don't expect us to compete in such an atmosphere? What if we break these things?"

The woman was standing next to the man who was supposedly called Jingjing "Don't worry," she said.

We all fell into a basement just a little larger than the room above, and the ground gave way under us like a crumbling castle.

She appeared to be dressed in a black robe, making it difficult to gauge her features. Her sleeves were long and green, and her fingernails seemed to match that color.

As we looked around in confusion, I realized that I knew who she was...

Fu Yao... the name of a sorceress from the demon clan. I'd heard talk of her but thought it to be just a rumor. However, now I knew otherwise.

"Those little girls were not affected at all?" She asked

"Is this guy going to compete with us?" I asked

"No, he'll just watch."

Is that woman underestimating us? No matter how strong she is and no matter how weak she thinks we are, we compete alone?

"The Fire of the West," I cast aside my thoughts and removed my gloves. In a swift motion, I reached out with my hand and pulled out two pistols, embedded within my arms, and aimed them at my adversaries.

"Those who have tasted my fire have never known peace," I said as I fired, sending crackling flames and toxic smoke towards them.

The pistols in my grasp were poison, turning anyone they touched into water, decomposing their bodies until they experienced the excruciating pain of burning alive. And they would not die until they saw their own organs decompose like melting ice.

I started to aim my fire at Fu Yao, but it quickly went past the fire.

Xiao Yao and Yao Yao looked at each other, "Evil thorns" They are a powerful opponent. If it were not for the presence of the protective veil, anyone who is hit by their thorns would be poisoned and go through all kinds of torment. He would be paralyzed and the poison would torment every part, literally every part of his body. At a time, they would release 30 thorns. It would be impossible for anyone to survive. However, they move around places. It's hard to hide from them

"Devil's Flight"

She soared above me while I aimed my gun at her, hovering like a bird in the sky.

I remained on the ground and watched her from below as she stood in the far corner of the room.

The flames struck her stomach and pierced her, but it didn't appear to bother her at all.

She giggled.

Xiao Yao appeared behind her, stabbing her with thorns, before returning to my side in a flash. I was amazed, I never wanted to point my weapon in the faces of others. Since I was young, other children feared me and I was alone. This is the price of the power that we were destined to obtain, and she laughed and approached me, "Devil's wings," said, Yao Yao.

Would the poison not take effect on her? But it was almost inconceivable, I had only ever seen one person with this ability. How could this be happening?

"Magic does not affect her, meaning the cover is useless for her, and the same goes for you: if she hit you, you would die," spoke the calm man who had been standing watching from the beginning.

"I'm not asking with the intention of killing you, but how is this even convincing? Poison is different from magic." I ask

She raised her head to look at me, and removed the scarf from her head, so her face was clear, unlike her outward appearance. She was just a beautiful girl. Her hair was so dark green that I thought it was black from the darkness. She said with a smile, "Your weapons are magic, and even poison is magic. If you use a weapon... Normally, with your skill, I would have been dead. Next time, save normal thorns if you want."

Xiao Yao threw the thorns in her hands on the ground, "We only wasted our time then, but we hit you, so we win."

Yao Yao said, "No, but she didn't want to hurt any of us, you can't bully her."

Xiao Yan looked at her sister who was standing next to me, "On the battlefield, she will not hesitate to take your heart out. In this life, people seize any chance, even if it is small, of survival. Don't let your kindness blind you."

"Life is not a battle"

"It is. See those wriggling red wings of yours? As long as they're nestled in your skin, you're in battle."

Fu Yao's features were serious as she listened to the conversation

Suddenly we returned to the room, Fu Yao said to Xiao Yao, "You have won, in battle sometimes some people have to choose death." Then she smiled and put the cover back on her face, "I enjoyed the battle with you."

Just as at the beginning, she and her friend disappeared into thin air, but that woman was very generous, leaving behind an exploding ball. In a minute, the room was filled with green poison. She intended to kill us after admitting that we had won. Women are something else, really. I will never trust any woman again. It was funny, because I lost in the end.

It turned out that her words, "Some people have to choose death," were directed at us, as if she was finally training Xiao Yao on the meaning of the real battlefield. I think her character did not allow her to be easy with a 15-year-old girl.
