Chapter 9 - Chapter 10

The newly graduated children who were a part of the program stood before many nobles who were dressed in luxurious clothing.

They all had looks on their faces like they were looking toward the children like new toys that they would be able to claim as their own.

All of the children were lined up randomly so many bigger children stood out among them making it easy to spot which ones seemed most valuable.

Several nobles who chose from the children decided to choose among the boys who looked the toughest and who were less timid looking.

One noble had Captain Rich standing close by and they looked toward the children trying to consider who to choose.

Captain Rich had given him some advice but not every noble would consider the words of those beneath them as being worth listening to.

He sighed before giving in and pointing to Tanya. "The Petrova family will take this girl."

Unlike many other nobles in the room, he had a larger muscular body and an intimidating presence.

Most other nobles looked quite weak or overweight making him stand out more among them.

The other nobles were shocked to find out that the Petrova family was choosing a girl especially such a petite girl who did not look nearly as strong as most of the other children.

Many children would either become guards or disposable pawns of the nobility while some would be thrown right into the war.

Despite being tidied up a little, some nobles still showed disgust and disdain toward each of the children not wanting to get close to them.

The man of the Petrova family did not show such behavior as he walked to Tanya. "I am your new master, Lev Petrova of the marquess-ranked nobility. You will inherit the name Volkov of those who serve my family. Serve the kingdom well young wolf."

Tanya Volkov bowed showing her obedience. "I will do my best."

Time passed as she entered the city guard under Captain Rich who resumed his previous position as a captain there and began her patrolling duties.

She wandered through the streets looking for any signs of disturbance.
