Chapter 23 - Leaving The Green Barrel Sect

'His mouth!' Minos's thoughts seemed to explode, as the answer came to light. He suddenly realized that it was very likely that Venix didn't smile for two reasons instead of just one.

Rather than him just not being a smiley person, it was also because he wanted to attempt to keep his teeth hidden as much as possible.

Minos recalled the last time they talked, and the brief moment he caught a glimpse of his teeth. He remembered that one tooth was a bit off compared to the rest, having a darker shade and metallic glimmer, likely a fake tooth.

Within that tooth was likely the key to the inheritance, but even then Minos found himself hitting a wall once more.

Despite knowing all this, he still had no idea where the actual inheritance was hidden, which meant he was back at square one.

Even then, he had no plans of giving up. An inheritance that was worth exterminating an entire clan for couldn't be something weak, and even though he knew pursuing this was dangerous, he couldn't help but feel his blood rushing.

However, it was unlikely he'd find any clues to the inheritance within the sect, hence it was finally time to leave after two years.

Leaving the sect was quite simple, all Minos had to do was talk to Master Lero, and for every day he wanted to be absent, he would be deducted one contribution point.

This was another place handyman disciples found themselves burning points. Every day they left the sect was essentially undoing a day's work, but still, it was worth it to most since the outside world had far more to offer then this place did.

With 900 points, Minos naturally cared little of the small loss. Leaving Master Lero's fancy house that made his hut look like a garbage dump, he found Jabar at the outer disciple bazaar.

"Jabar, I need a map, ideally of everything within a hundred kilometers of the Green Barrel Sect." Minos asked.

"100 kilometers? That's a lot, but I can get it done, no problem. Just give me a second."

Minos stood to the side, watching as Jabar tossed through his vast collection of strange things, before finally pulling out a paper scroll.

He unrolled it on the stall, revealing the pristine map that was even better than Minos expected. It only took a moment's glance for Minos to find Leaf Meadow City, which was about 13 kilometers west of the Green Barrel Sect.

"What do you think? Pretty good huh? I don't mean to brag, but this map took about a hundred outer disciples 7 years to create, hence the price is a bit high. 100 points."

"Maybe let the ink dry on the paper before you go quoting such a large price. You can create as many of these things whenever you want, so 10 is the most I'm willing to pay."

Jabar was going to argue, but he also realized that the ink was still a bit wet. That wasn't his fault though. Maps were always a hot commodity, so he usually had some new ones on hand at all times. Unfortunately he blundered this time.

"Damn, fine, you win this time. 10 points." Jabar was a little annoyed. Every time he dealt with Minos, he seemed to take a loss. He couldn't wait until he could turn the tables and reclaim victory for himself.

Looking at the perverted grin on Jabar's face, coupled with the drool that was about to drip out, Minos was quick with snatching the map and making his payment.

The Green Barrel Sect was split into 5 main areas that were shaped like rings. The handyman disciple area was the outer ring, located right on the edge of the sect. Further in was the outer disciple ring, which was located closer to the core of the sect.

Beyond that was the inner disciple ring, the core disciple ring, and finally the elder ring. With the elder ring being located at the very center of the sect. Taking up the least area, but having by far the most Nux energy.

Of course to Nine Life Lock cultivators, Nux energy isn't yet useful, but it becomes critical once you break through. Hence the amount of Nux in an area determines how fast one can cultivate.

Since Minos was at the very outer ring, he naturally could leave the sect quite quickly. And within only a half hour walk, he had already officially left the envelope of the Green Barrel Sect, finally entering the real world once more.
