Stepping back for a moment, Minos looked down at the devastation left beneath him. Seven corpses laid still on the floor, blood surrounding their bodies.
The thick scent of death filled the air, making Minos recall the first time he had ever killed someone. Of course that fight was much more dangerous than this one, but fortunately, he won that battle as well.
With the smell of blood filling the area, Minos naturally couldn't go back to sleep. The smell would soon attract some beasts, and if Minos was unlucky enough to stumble into a demonic beast, it definitely would be an easy fight.
So despite having only gotten a few hours of sleep, Minos grabbed the reins of his horse and continued his journey, under the dim illumination of the moon.
…
The morning sun eventually poked its head out from the horizon. At this point, Minos had already been travelling for a few hours. The light was naturally a welcome guest, burning away the gloom of last night's bloodshed.
He took the small pearl out of his pocket before comparing it to his map. Based on his prediction, Minos felt the inheritance was likely located within the Underwood Mountain Range.
This was a huge range of mountains that stretched for many kilometers across. And it was located a full 160 kilometers from the sect.
At this point, Minos had travelled about 80 kilometers, hence his journey was only half done. Fortunately he should be able to reach there tonight.
The rest of Minos's journey went by in silence, and by the time the sun had begun to set again, he had finally reached Underwood City.
Compared to Leaf Meadow City, this place truly deserved the city title. It was far bigger, and just by looking around, you could see more affluent figures.
Since Underwood City borders the Underwood Mountain Range directly, they get first hand access to all the goods that are acquired from the area, making the city incredibly rich.
The roads had large lamps on each side, powered by an energy source Minos didn't yet understand. The lamps illuminated the dark city, filling the area with life, despite it already being so late.
Even though the night was late, the streets were still filled with wagons, carrying all sorts of goods. There were also plenty of carriages, carrying around the elite of Underwood City.
There was also no lack of hunters and mercenary groups, attempting to explore the mountain range themselves in hopes of earning some riches.
Minos quickly found an inn before finding a stable boy to hand his horse off to. Reaching into his pocket, he felt the pearl that was getting close to a boil.
It was clear that the inheritance was nearby, but actually find it among the massive Underwood Mountain Range would be a challenge, and naturally impossible given the current darkness.
So once again, Minos quickly found his room, created a few talismans, and then called it a night.
…
After finishing his breakfast, Minos grabbed his horse from the stable boy and began his journey into the Underwood Mountain Range.
There were quite a few people making the same journey, hence the roads were dense, as a large crowd headed into the dense forest.
Minos could see all sorts of figures among these people. Mercenaries with missing limbs, merchants with guards surrounding them, hunters with bows strapped to their shoulders.
Minos's young face naturally stood out, but people who spent their days on the edge of a knife naturally wouldn't bother with a stranger.
While the Underwood Mountain Range was home to a plethora of demonic beasts, the humans were arguably more dangerous, so everyone constantly kept an eye over their shoulders.
