He couldn't help but reminisce as he left the sect. He remembered his younger years, his parents who were kind to him until they unfortunately died when he was only 6.
He also recalled the more than half a decade he spent as a beggar, traveling the world looking for a place to call home, before finally stumbling upon the Green Barrel Sect, becoming a handyman disciple.
Before joining the Green Barrel Sect, he hadn't even known cultivators were real. Of course he had heard plenty of rumors, but never anything concrete.
He had seen some people with incredible strength, but he always summed it up to them just being strong, only later did he realize they were actually Nine Life Lock realm cultivators.
Honestly, he could have easily made a living in the mortal world with his intelligence, but the moment he stepped on the path of cultivation, he knew being normal was impossible for him.
It was always in his nature to pursue the extreme. If there was no cultivation, then he'd want to be the richest man, but since there is, his goals had changed.
Of course once he realized his poor talent, his ambition fizzled out slightly. But discovering his talent for making talismans reignited the fuse. Since he couldn't depend on cultivating the conventional way, he'll learn all the auxiliary occupations he can.
He'll take his strengths to the extreme, and use that to propel him forward on his journey. Of course right now all he knows is a few low-level talisman, but that won't always be the case.
He wants to learn everything available. Weapon refining, alchemy, and whatever other things existed.
Had things worked out with Venix, he would have used that new source of income to acquire all the knowledge he could get his hands on, but unfortunately things don't always go according to plan.
With Venix gone, he had to restructure everything, but with the discovery of this possible inheritance, he may have inadvertently stumbled upon something even better than his original idea, of course, the danger was also far higher.
As a First Life Lock cultivator, his speed actually wasn't much faster than a regular human. At this layer, speed isn't enhanced too much, but it's said once you break the Fourth Life Lock, your body can travel like a blur.
You can also learn movement techniques from the outer library, making yourself even faster.
But for Minos that was still a bit far, so he had to make use of his current speed. Fortunately, Leaf Meadow City was only a 13 kilometer journey, so after a halves day journey, Minos finally made it to the small, but pretty city.
Before entering the city, Minos brought out the disguise tools he had bought earlier. Dying his hair black and making his skin darker, giving it a healthy brown hue.
Much like its name, Leaf Meadow City was surrounded by large trees. The street floors were completely littered in red leaves, making it almost seem like the roads were paved in red.
The architecture was simple, with red brick houses that matched the streets. Compared to Minos's hut in the sect, they may have well been palaces.
The setting sun bounced off the city, making the entire place glimmer. Minos was caught up in the atmosphere for a moment before shaking his head and entering the city.
Despite being called a city, it was quite homely, and seemed more akin to a town. Of course Minos didn't care to question the person who named this place, instead he had to find a place to sleep since night was coming.
Without much struggle, Minos found an inn and rented a room for the night. Naturally before he left the sect, he spent 10 contribution points to get 10 silver coins, which was enough to spend a month in this inn.
Hopefully he didn't need that much time, but he still decided to be prepared. He also went out of his way to finally buy some regular paper, and ink, as well as a brush, so that he could properly train his talisman making, no longer needing to awkwardly use the mud behind his house.
He spent a few hours training his talisman strokes, before officially calling a night. He needed a lot of sleep today, since tomorrow would be a busy day.
