Jess pov:
I woke up to another day of my amazing life, feeling like I was on top of the world. Working for the CIA at just 21 years old was a dream come true, and I was loving every minute of it. I got out of bed and began my morning routine, feeling grateful for this life I had built for myself.
As I was getting dressed, my phone rang. I groaned, not wanting to answer it, but I knew I had to. It was my boss, Jason. I immediately picked up, hoping it wasn't another assignment. "Good morning, sir," I said, trying to sound cheerful.
"Good morning, Jess. I have an important assignment for you," he said, his voice firm and serious. I sighed inwardly, knowing I couldn't say no. "What is it, sir?" I asked, trying to prepare myself for whatever he was about to throw my way.
"I'll explain when you get here. Just get to the office as soon as possible," he said, and with that, he hung up. I was left standing there, wondering what I had just gotten myself into.
I arrived at the office, feeling a mix of excitement and nerves. I made my way to the security post, where Joe greeted me with a warm smile. "Good morning, Jess. Sorry to see you on your day off," he said, as I handed him my ID.
"It's okay, Joe. I know the drill," I replied, taking a deep breath. I made my way to the elevator, my mind racing with possibilities. What could this assignment be? And why did I have to be the one to do it?
As I entered the elevator, my phone rang again. I answered, hoping it was Jason with more information. "Jess, I don't have all day," he said, his voice impatient. "I'm on my way, sir," I replied, trying to keep up with him.
The elevator stopped on the 12th floor, and I made my way to Jason's office. His secretary, Ella, greeted me with a smile. "Good morning, Jess. Go right in," she said, gesturing to the door.
I entered Jason's office, feeling a sense of trepidation. He was sitting behind his desk, his expression serious. "Good morning, sir," I said, trying to sound confident.
"Good morning, Jess. Your assignment is to date Adrien Hernández," he said, his words dropping like a bombshell. I was taken aback, my mind racing with questions. Who was Adrien Hernández? And why did I have to date him?
"Who is he, sir?" I asked, trying to keep my cool. Jason leaned back in his chair, a hint of a smile on his face. "None of your business, Jess. Just know that you're going to be in a relationship with him, starting tonight."
I left the office feeling stunned and confused. What had I just gotten myself into? And how was I going to get out of it?
