Chapter 33 - A Twist of Fate

"Oh, come on! You did not do that!" Sam asked in amazement. Her eyes were glued to Desmond as he spoke about his days at high school.

"Yeah, I did. The chap wouldn't mind his business. He probably thought that because I moved around alone, he could get his punk friends to bully me into submission," Desmond said, rolling his eyes as the memory flashed.

"Well, what did you do to his other friends?" She asked. She was enjoying this as much as he was. She was the only one that had made him talk about his past.

"Well, after taking their leader's girlfriend, they planned to bully me, but I beat them all. "I wasn't the type of loner to be bullied," Desmond said, savoring a sip of his drink.

"Wow, you really were ruthless as a young lad," she reasoned. "So, what about now? Why are you still ruthless?"
