Chapter 34 - Moment Of Truth

"And what if I don't want you to go back to your old room?" As Desmond cocked his eyebrows at her, daring her to argue with him, she blushed furiously as her eyes widened at his statement.

"But we lived in separate rooms," Sam tried to argue.

"Sometimes and not all the time," she said, moving forward to where Sam sat and picking up the bowl of ice cream that she was about to eat.

"But you enjoy your privacy."

"No more arguments and one more thing; Pa wants us over for Christmas," Desmond suddenly broke the news to her. Her smile was wiped off her face and she began to think. She hated the family dinner because of all the family members she had to forcefully converse with.

"But the Christmas holiday is still some weeks away!"

"Well, Pa enjoys the company of everyone, even if they can all be annoying," Desmond said, putting one hand in his pockets.

Sam deadpanned at him. Wasn't he also included in that category?
